The man bent his knee and planted it on the couch. His right hand clamped down on Anneliese’s arms, wrenching them backward, while his other hand pressed firmly against the back of the couch.
His body leaned over hers, pinning her fragile frame into the cushions. She had no choice but to arch uncomfortably, tilting her head back until her eyes locked on him.
The first thing she saw was Jonathan’s robe, loose and hanging open, showing the sharp lines of his collarbones and the pale hardness of his chest.
His chest moved against her like that of a predator about to strike, held back only by the thrill of waiting.
Anneliese’s face turned pale. Her lips shook as she stared at him.
He lowered his gaze, leaning just inches from her face. His sharp features looked frozen in ice, and his long, narrow eyes carried a cold edge that felt like blades ready to cut her to pieces.
His jaw was locked tight, his lips pressed into a straight line. Stray strands of messy hair fell forward, making him look even more dangerous and almost cruel.
Anneliese’s body shook with fear. Her nose stung red, and she bit her lip so hard she fell into silence. Her lashes trembled, and no matter how much she tried, tears welled in her eyes.
Her gaze burned with both terror and anger, but she did not dare set him off.
The assault she braced for never came. Instead, his lips parted, and a low laugh broke out.
“You were running from me? Tell me clearly. How am I trash? How am I some sort of monster?”
Anneliese clenched her teeth. Her thoughts screamed, You already put your hands on me. Do I really need to explain it? You know exactly what you’re doing.
Jessica had been right. These pilots did not just chase games. They chased danger.
The higher their rank, the better they hid their vices under false virtue.
“Talk!”
The look on Anneliese’s face did not escape Jonathan. He knew she was cursing him in her head.

His voice came down heavy, sharp with anger. The sound made her flinch.

Her chest tightened, but then her fury snapped. Her eyes flared red as she glared at him.
“Talk about what? Mr. Fullbuster, don’t tell me you dragged me here behind your wife’s back, baited me with Meatloaf, showered me with clothes and jewelry, just so we could have a friendly chat?”
Jonathan frowned, thrown off guard.
Anneliese thought she had cut him deep. A bitter laugh left her throat.
“Am I wrong? No wonder you kept popping up everywhere I went. No wonder the great heir of the Fullbusters gave his number to me so easily!
“But I just escaped a marriage where I was betrayed. What makes you think I’d ever play the other woman in another broken marriage?
“Take your dirty thoughts and that swollen pride of yours somewhere else. You came to the
wrong person.
“And hear me clearly. If you ever touch me, I don’t care how powerful the Fullbuster family is. I’ll rip your mask off and show the world what hides behind your polished shell.”
Her chest heaved with rage as she cursed him, but Jonathan only stared, steady and unmoved.
Maybe women had cursed him out before. Maybe it did not matter anymore.
His dark eyes stayed fixed on her, pressing down with a weight so heavy it crushed her breath. Her courage sank like air leaking from a balloon. Fear rushed back into her chest, and she shrank into herself. That was when he moved.
His lips curved slightly. “Are you finished? Then it’s my turn. I won’t take the fall for nothing.”
His body leaned down like a mountain shadowing her, pressing closer and closer.
Their breaths tangled. Anneliese’s face turned white. She squeezed her eyes shut and jerked her head away.
But the touch never came.
Instead, a sudden beeping broke through the silence. Her eyes shot open. She turned and saw the glow of his phone. At some point, he had lifted it, and a video chat request filled the screen.
Her voice broke as she asked, “What are you doing?”

The thought that he might want someone watching as he broke her made cold dread crawl down her spine.
Her body trembled harder, tears streaming until they blurred her vision. She regretted ever setting foot in his place.

She forced herself to breathe and tried to calm down. She almost begged him for mercy and was ready to lower herself just to escape alive.
Then the call connected. A child’s sweet voice rang out, cheerful and bright.
“Hello! So, who’s been missing the great Lemon? Wait a minute, hey, you’re that cute lady!”
The lively voice of a little girl cut through the thick, suffocating air.
Anneliese froze. She knew instantly Jonathan would never let a child see something vile.
Her eyes flew wide, and she turned sharply to the screen. The camera was aimed straight at her.
