Jessica had a cute bob cut, a round face, and round eyes. She only came up to Zane’s chest, but when she got mad, she was like a chubby little bird crashing into people.
Zane chuckled. “You beat me up? Come on, I didn’t even… Ow! You’re being serious? Let go! Let me go!”
Before he could finish, she twisted his arm with a grappling move and pinned him against the wall.
Half his face was squished flat.
He had really misjudged her. She wasn’t some chubby little bird at all; she was tough as steel.
Jessica was worried about Anneliese, so she let go and walked off without a word.
Zane caught up, keeping a cool face but talking nonstop like a broken record.
“You trained in grappling, huh? Pretty good moves. What happened? Tell me, maybe I can help. You’re acting cold, but I know. You’re looking for someone, right? You’ve got a really pretty friend who went missing? Running around like this won’t work. You need a plan.”
The nonstop chatter gave Jessica a headache. She pulled out her wallet, grabbed all the cash, and threw it at him.
“This is all I’ve got. Take it and stop following me!”
She ran quickly around the corner, but there was no sign of Jonathan and the others.
Even being treated like a paid escort didn’t bother Zane. He picked up the bills and strolled
after her.
“Are you sure you don’t need help? You paid me, so I should at least do something. I know this area way better than you.”
Jessica was desperate. She grabbed him.
“Fine. Then, tell me, where could my friend be?”
“First, you’ve got to tell me about your friend. Best if you give me a photo too. I’ll send it to my group so my buddies can look out for her.”
“You guys even have a group chat? Perfect!”

Her eyes lit up. She quickly pulled out her phone, added him on WhatsApp, and sent Anneliese’s picture.

Zane opened it. The girl in the photo was holding a golden retriever, crouched under a cherry blossom tree. She had bright eyes, white teeth, and looked graceful and pretty.
“Tsk, no wonder.”
“No wonder what? Hurry up and send it to your group!”
Zane nodded like he was taking it seriously, then forwarded the photo into their four–person group chat.
“Your group is called Four of a Kind?”
They were escorts but still named themselves like big shots. Guess people needed ambition.
Meanwhile, Anneliese was carried into a hotel room upstairs, almost unconscious.
Jameson tossed her onto the bed, but she bit her tongue to stay awake. When she saw him adjusting the camera set up at the bedside, her heart sank like a stone.
“Don’t bother struggling. I gave you a heavy dose, so you’re not going anywhere.”
He finished setting up and started tearing his clothes off.
He climbed onto the bed, grabbed her ankles, and yanked hard, dragging her under him.
“You don’t know, but I fell for you at first sight. That face, that body… The first time I saw you, I wanted to press you down like this…”

Anneliese let out helpless sobs. “Let me go… Please, don’t touch me…”
Her face flushed red, tears rolled down and slipped into her thick dark hair. Her pleading eyes were full of misery, the kind that made people want to give her anything.
But that only made him crazier. How could he stop?

Jameson’s eyes burned red with excitement. “Why are you reacting like this? Didn’t Zacharias satisfy you? Babe, don’t be so nervous. You’re making me lose it before we even start–ah!”
He was on top of her, kissing wildly, his adrenaline spiking.
Then, a cold flash of light cut across his face and neck, sharp pain spreading.
He shoved Anneliese away and looked up.
Somehow, she had gotten hold of a small utility blade. She gripped it tight and swung at him again.
“B*tch! You’re crazy!”
The blade nearly cut his throat. He cursed, dodged, then grabbed her hair and flung her off the bed.
She hit the floor hard but forced herself up, crawling toward the door.
Jameson wiped his face and found his hand covered in blood.
His eyes turned vicious. He jumped down and stepped toward her.
“I wanted to be gentle, but you’re forcing my hand! I’ll make sure you regret it tonight!”
He kicked her hard in the waist and legs twice.
