It was already late at night, and the moonlight streamed in through the window.
Zina sat by the window, watching Richard deep in thought. After a few moments of silence, she finally spoke slowly. “I’m really touched that you stood up for me today, Mr. Lambert. As for everything else, I don’t really have any other thoughts. Just go ahead with your plans.”
“I was thinking of sending Lydia away,” Richard said, worried that Zina might misunderstand.
Seeing Zina’s calm expression, Richard continued, “Lydia’s situation is pretty much resolved now. There’s nothing else to worry about. But as for you and Kellan, I met him today, and he actually seems like a decent guy. If you really like him, you could give it a try.”
Richard finally relented, letting out a soft sigh, his eyes filled with a hint of resignation. After everything that had happened with Lydia, all he really wanted now was for Zina to be happy. As for the rest, he didn’t have the energy to deal with it anymore.
Zina hadn’t expected Richard to say something like that. For a moment, she was stunned. When she looked up, she met Richard’s earnest gaze–an expression filled with a father’s concern.
Zina instinctively pinched her palm and then lowered her head, softly responding with an “Okay.”

While things were peaceful in the Lambert family, the Sinclair family was in chaos.
Kevin never imagined he’d be thrown out in front of everyone, with no dignity left. His fists were clenched, eyes blazing with fury, as he stared at the trembling girl in front of him.
“What were you thinking?” he snapped. “Did you even find out who the daughter at the Lambert family’s acknowledgment party really was? You were so sure you could pull it off! Now look at what you’ve done— thanks to you, the Sinclair family has been humiliated.”
Rosie shrank back, enduring Kevin’s sharp words. She tried to put on a meek expression, hoping to appear innocent. “Dad, I don’t know what happened. That bitch Zina, she should’ve been kicked out already. And besides, doesn’t she have a sugar daddy?”
“Sugar daddy? Wasn’t that just something you made up? And now you’re bringing it up again? You should be worrying about how she’s going to get back at us after everything we’ve done,” Kevin snapped angrily.
His chest was heaving with fury, his face livid with rage. But his mind kept replaying the intense look in Richard’s eyes earlier that night.
The Lambert family had stood strong among the four great families for so many years. They clearly had deep roots and real power behind them.
But now that they had crossed the Lamberts, there was no way out for the Sinclair family.
Kevin’s body shook uncontrollably, his mind swirling with thoughts of the Lambert family’s ruthless reputation. His vision went black, and he nearly collapsed.
