Hearing this, Sean froze. After thinking for a long time, he still couldn’t come up with any reason why Zina would want to keep him around.
The hint of surprise and hope that had briefly appeared on his face vanished instantly, leaving only despair.
“Alright, let’s end this conversation here. Now it’s my turn to share what I think,” Zina said, her serious face suddenly breaking into a faint smile.
She continued slowly, “The way you acted just now made me realize you might not be completely beyond trust. So, let’s tally up what the Sinclair family and the Wood family still owe us, shall we?
“I know not everything you told me was a lie. Your brother really was killed by Rosie, wasn’t he? But I’ve been thinking. There’s a death between you and Andy.
“Why are you still working with him? At first, I didn’t understand, but now I think I’ve figured it out. You have a son, don’t you?” Zina spoke in a calm tone, never once looking at Sean, as though she was simply talking to herself.
Meanwhile, Sean’s face grew darker, and his body began trembling uncontrollably. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, Sean dropped to his knees with a loud thud.
“Miss Lambert, I was wrong. I swear I won’t do it again. I’ll do whatever you say–just help me get my son out. I can’t just stand by and watch my only son die.
“Those bastards said they’d kill him if I didn’t listen. I don’t even know where they’re keeping him. He’s my only family now,” he choked out, pleading with her.
Zina stepped forward, grabbed a fistful of Sean’s shirt, and yanked him to his feet. “Enough. From now on, just do what I say, and I’ll make sure you get what you want.”

After leaving Kellan’s apartment, Zina got into the car, closing her eyes to relax. A gentle breeze drifted in through the window, tugging her hair away. Zina lifted her eyes slightly, keeping her gaze fixed on the distance.
After a while, Kellan finally spoke up in an unhurried tone. “Miss Lambert, do you have any doubts? If you have any questions, just say the word.”
Kellan pulled the car over and turned to study Zina seriously.
Zina snapped back to reality and instinctively glanced over at Kellan. His usual worried gaze was fixed steadily on her. Zina blinked and met his eyes.
The concern in his eyes was so apparent that, for a moment, she found herself momentarily lost in thought.
Zina bit her lower lip, smoothing the crease between her brows, and finally said, “It’s nothing. I just suddenly thought about the Sinclair family and got lost in my thoughts for a moment.”

a watched the happy family of three, and her heart was also very happy.
“I’ll write another prescription later. You can go to the pharmacy and get some medicine. Drink it three times a day, and be sure to drink it on time.”
“Okay, we’ll remember. Why don’t you stay and sleep with me tonight?” Penny invited.
“Well… Before Kaia could refuse, Penny hugged her arm.
“You can’t refuse. We’re good friends, and you gave me an emerald bracelet and my mom a century–old ginseng. Tonight, I’m going to sleep with you to pay off my debt,” Penny said jokingly.
Kaia said helplessly, “Okay, I’ll call Tobias later and tell him.”
Hearing this, Penny couldn’t help but tease, “People always say that wives control their husbands, but in your family, the husband controls the wife. It’s just staying at a good friend’s house for one night, and you have to report it? If you’re like this now, if you two are really together in the future, won’t you be controlled to death?”
“As for whether we’ll be together or not, there’s plenty of time. Who knows?” As Kaia spoke, she dialed the phone, and the man’s pleasant, deep voice rang out as soon as it was connected.
“Are you done over there? I’ll pick you up now.”
“Well, it’s over, but I’m staying here tonight.”
Tobias frowned immediately. “You’re not coming back tonight?”
“I-”
“If you don’t come back, I can’t sleep alone. I don’t think you can sleep alone either,” said Tobias.
Penny was openly eavesdropping and couldn’t help but tease when she heard this. “Don’t worry, Kaia is sleeping with me tonight. I’ll hold her, and she’s guaranteed to sleep soundly.”
Tobias’s face instantly darkened. “Are you trying to steal Kaia from me?”
“Uh-”
Penny twitched her lips and mechanically turned her neck to look at Kaia. “Is he even jealous of women?”
After thinking for a moment, Kaia replied seriously, “In fact, he’s jealous of animals, plants, and even air.”
“Huh?” Penny didn’t quite understand. “I can understand animal jealousy, but plant jealousy? What is that? And what’s up with the air?”
“It’s because they have a rare potted plant that I really like, and I take care of it every day, so he got jealous. As for the air, it’s because I didn’t pay attention to him when he was talking. He said I’d rather face the air than face him?” When Kaia said this, a very helpless expression appeared on her face.

In the past, whenever Zina suddenly mentioned the Sinclair family, Kellan would always drop the subject and never press her.
But today, for some reason, Kellan just kept his eyes on her face and didn’t look away.
Noticing something was off, Zina looked up and locked eyes with Kellan. “What’s wrong?” Zina asked softly.
“Maybe you could let me in on more of your past with the Sinclair family,” Kellan said.
It was the first time he’d ever mentioned it, and he didn’t seem bothered by the surprised look on her face. His voice remained steady, his tone serious.
They both seemed to be at a standstill, neither willing to speak first. Finally, Zina let out a helpless sigh and looked up at Kellan. “I’ll show you something. Maybe that’ll help you understand.”
She quickly scrolled through her phone and found the file she wanted, then handed it to Kellan.
Kellan, still looking confused, took the phone. Zina just quietly stood by, waiting for him to speak. Seconds ticked by, but Kellan didn’t move. Zina continued to wait.
What Zina didn’t realize was that Kellan was in complete shock. His fingers tightened around the phone without him even noticing.
The phone showed surveillance footage of Zina being framed by the Sinclair family–scene after scene of her trying to explain, but never getting a chance.
Watching the girl in the video, trembling and desperate, Kellan finally understood why Zina had hated Kevin so much the moment she saw him.
All the words he’d prepared just got stuck in his throat. He suddenly had no intention of prying into Zina’s history with the Sinclair family anymore.
He pressed his lips together, shot Zina a quick glance, then turned away, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know any of this happened to you. If I had known…”
He didn’t continue. Instead, he looked up at her, his expression guilty.
Fortunately, Zina didn’t seem interested in continuing the conversation either, leaving only Kellan sitting there in silence.
A few seconds later, Zina waved her hand and forced a smile back onto her face. “It’s nothing. Can you me home now?” Zina asked.

“Wait, I want to take you to meet someone,” Kellan said quickly, not giving her a chance to respond. He looked at her with unwavering sincerity.
Zina had no idea what Kellan was up to, but when their eyes met, she couldn’t help but feel her heart skip a beat. Something invisible seemed to draw her to him, and without realizing it, she nodded. “Sure,” Zina replied.
Zina thought she was ready for anything, but the moment she got out of the car and saw the person waiting

Penny was stunned for a while, and finally reached out to Kaia’s shoulder, “Kaia, I used to envy you for having such an excellent man like Mr. Moreno pursuing you. Now I only feel sympathy for you. Hang in there, sister
August 30th.
Kaia went to Morganburg University to register.
Other students went to the registration office, but she was directly called to the office by the president of Morganburg University.
Horace put the coffee he had prepared in advance in front of Kaia and looked at Kaia with a loving smile, “Kaia, now that you have come to my Morganburg University as a student, why don’t you just take over the position of president?”
Kaia almost choked after taking a sip of coffee, “I’m here to be a student, not a president.”
“Same difference.” Horace took out some snacks from the drawer and handed them to Kaia.
Kaia gave Horace a look, letting him understand for himself.
Having lived to his age, Horace had seen it all. He completely ignored Kaia’s gaze and continued to speak his mind.
“Kaia, have you noticed that the decor in my office has changed?”
Kaia had noticed it as soon as she came in. The decorating style was entirely based on her preferences.
“Hehe, this is all prepared for you! What do you think? Would you consider working here in the future?”
Just as Horace finished speaking, the office door was pushed open by someone outside.
It was an old lady of about seventy years old. This person was Horace’s wife, Cissy.
Cissy walked in with a cane and glared at Horace.
“You old codger, you try to get Kaia to be your successor every day. Anyone can be the president, why do you have to cling to her?”
Kaia nodded in agreement. “Mrs. Tillery, you’re right. There are plenty of people who can be the president. I think the vice president would be a good choice.”
“Did you hear that? Kaia doesn’t want to be the president, so don’t force her.” Saying that, Cissy turned to look at Kaia, grinned, and said with a gentle face, “Kaia, why don’t you take over my Piano Association presidency? Only you are qualified for this position.”
Kaia was speechless.
She was counting on Cissy to help her, but she was only making trouble for her.
“Mrs. Tillery, your disciples are all leaders in the piano world. Especially your eldest disciple, Larry Anderson, known as the Prince of Piano, plays excellent piano. Why don’t you give him the position of association

by the door, she still jumped in shock.
Hayden, with a huge grin on his face, was looking right at her. His smile was so unsettling that it made Zina’s skin crawl.
She pressed her hand to her chest to steady herself, then frowned at Kellan. “What?” Zina asked, raising an eyebrow.
Kellan hadn’t expected Hayden’s creepy entrance either. His jaw tightened, and he shot Hayden a furious look.
After a moment, Kellan finally spoke, his voice steady, though with a hint of annoyance. “Alright, Hayden, you wanted to meet Zina. Well, here she is. If you have something to say, say it now.”
At that, Zina shot Hayden a look. As their eyes met, both of them froze for a moment, the air between themn suddenly tense.

president?”

Cissy sighed, “That child is indeed very good, but he is still far behind you. And his junior brothers and sisters don’t accept him at all. But if you were in this position, those naughty children would definitely obey. If they don’t, take out your identity as Dr. Bennett and crush them.”
The more Kaia listened, the more her head ached. “I have something else to do, you guys chat first, I’m leaving.”
Without giving the two of them a chance to stop her, Kaia left the office with lightning speed.
“It’s all your fault, you scared Kaia away.” Cissy glared at Horace unhappily.
Horace’s beard trembled speechlessly, “You were the one who said to take out Kaia’s identity as Dr. Bennett to crush your disciples, that’s why she was scared away, okay? Why are you blaming me?”
“Nonsense, Kaia still really wants to be the president of this association in her heart.” Cissy said with certainty.
Horace rolled his eyes speechlessly, “You really are getting old and your eyes are failing, where did you see that from?”
“We are all women, and women understand women best. You don’t understand.”
Horace was lost for words.
Cissy continued to mutter, “Just in case, I must get Larry to use his charms to seduce Kaia. I must make Kaia my successor.”
After hearing this, Horace immediately sent the message to Kaia.
Horace: “I’m telling you a shocking secret: Cissy plans to have Larry use his charms to seduce you. You must be careful, especially with anything that old woman gives you to eat or drink; don’t accept it casually. Back when I was young, I fell for her trick. I drank the red wine she handed me, and then that kind of thing happened between us. She was pregnant with my child, so I had no choice but to marry her.”
Seeing this message, Kaia was so shocked that she almost lost her composure.
It was truly unexpected that one, a big shot in the education world, and the other, a giant in the piano world, would have such a ridiculous and laughable past.
After Kaia returned home, Joel climbed in through the window as usual.
