Chapter 37
The black Mercedes Benz halted right in front of Olivia’s house and she stepped away from it. Soon afterward, Olivia got to the entrance of the house and inserted the key in the key hold.
She stepped into the house to see Noah having his breakfast at the dining table,
“Good morning baby.” She muttered and once Noah spotted her, he ran towards her, giving her a tight hug,
“Mommy, does it still hurt?” He questioned as he stared at the crutches she was holding.
“No baby, I’ll be fine before you know it. Where’s Uncle Bryan?”
“He’s upstairs, Mommy.”
“Eat your cereals; I’ll come to join you downstairs after I speak to Uncle Bryan, okay,” Olivia instructed, and as Noah walked away, she began heading towards the stairs. As soon as Olivia got to the entrance of the room, she rasped a knock on the door and opened it afterward,
“You’re back, baby.” Bryan rushed towards her and wrapped his arms around Olivia for a tight hug. He planted a soft kiss on her forehead and cupped her face,
“I thought you were going to come back home last night?”
“I couldn’t. I’m so sorry I couldn’t call you last night to inform you, but I had a tedious night, and I just want to rest.” Olivia and Bryan nodded their heads. Assisting her, Bryan gently placed on the bed and covered her properly with the duvet,
“Thank you so much, Bryan,” Olivia muttered with a faint voice and her eyes closed while Bryan sat down close to her, he tucked some errant strands of her hair behind her ear, and responded in a whisper,
“For what baby?”
“For everything. For loving me endlessly and for giving me this massive opportunity. I won’t ever forget everything, and even in my next life, I’ll choose you over and over again.”
Bryan let out a chuckle as he stared at her and touched her cheeks,
“You came into my life and turned it around completely, Olivia. I should be thanking you for giving me a chance after what you went through in the past. I love you.” He responded, and leaned closer to her,
It was slow, but as soon as he watched her shut her eyes a little, his lips touched hers and he kissed her,
When Bryan broke the kiss, Olivia opened her eyes and smiled at him, “I love you too.” She murmured before shutting her eyes again for a quick nap. As soon as Bryan tucked her in the duvet, he rose to his feet, and walked out of the room,

The smile on his face suddenly disappeared as soon as he tucked his hand into his pocket to get his phone,
“I heard you’re back in New York.” The caller questioned,
“Sandra told you?”
“Yes. How come you told her first, Bryan? I’m your best buddy and you chose to tell a woman first before me.”
“She’s not just any woman, Derek, she’s my woman.”
Chapter 87
A loud scoff escaped Derek’s mouth and he heaved, “So what now?” He questioned, but Bryan remained silent until after a few seconds, he responded,
“We keep going according to the damn plan, and absolutely nothing gets in the way. I need you to look into Ethan Fordham and everything he’s been doing in the last six years after his divorce. I fucking can’t let him ruin my damn plan when he’s my main target.” Bryan responded,
“This is going to be a tough one, but I’ll get back to you in a few days.
A knock on the door had woken Olivia from her nap and when the door opened, Bryan walked in holding a tray,
“Hi, baby.” He uttered, dropping the tray on the table and walking towards Olivia. “Are you still tired?” He questioned, but Olivia shook her head in negation, rubbing her eyes gently for a clearer vision.
“Where’s Noah?”
“We had a little walk and I took him to the field for a football match with him. Noah kicked my ass.”
The last words made Olivia chuckle, “I brought you breakfast. You must be so hungry.”
Talking about food, her stomach grumbled and she nodded her head. Ethan had ordered something last night for her, but she had bluntly refused to take anything. Seeing Shirley yesterday only made the hatred she had been keeping at bay for Ethan intensify,
“Thank you so much, babe.” She responded and began eating the bread and scrambled eggs
“There’s something you need to know.” Bryan started as he watched Olivia munch on her meal. When he had gotten her attention, he cleared his throat aloud,
“What’s that?” Olivia responded,
“A few numbers of the investors backed out before we could even conclude the contract with them fully. The hospital is at a high risk of falling down the drain before it even starts.”
Olivia widened her eyes as she stared at him, and the fork in her hand instantly dropped onto the tray,
“I thought you said the investors were keen on investing in the hospital? We had drawn up the contract and they accepted it.”
“Most of them came up with lame excuses after the party, and at the moment, we’re left with just Ethan and a few other members.”
“Damnit! This is bad. What do we do?”
“The last thing we need to do is lose Ethan’s cooperation even if it involves accepting most of his absurd terms along the line.”
Olivia heaved deeply because as much as she hated thinking about it, Ethan was the only person who could save the hospital that she had put so much hope in.
“I understand how much this is disappointing, Olivia, and I know how much this meant to you. I’m so sorry I didn’t see this coming before making plans and putting your hopes so high.”
He held her hand, and she nodded her head,

“It’s not your fault, Bryan, I really appreciate your effort towards all of this. I won’t let anything happen to the hospital you work so hard for, trust me,”
“I should go check up on, Noah,” Bryan uttered as he rose to his feet.
“I’ll come down soon, thank you,” Olivia responded and watched as Bryan walked out of the room.
Recalling how she had treated Ethan yesterday, it finally dawned on her that he was the only person who could help her and no one else. But then, after yesterday, would be still be willing to help her through this?
