Since ancient times, there had always been old people who claimed that children could predict whether the baby in a pregnant mother’s womb would be a boy or a girl.
Although there was no scientific basis for it, many young first–time mothers tried it out of playful curiosity after finding out they were pregnant.
Savannah did not have such a plan beforehand, but the accident happened unexpectedly and suddenly.
As soon as Shelley finished speaking, Savannah froze. Her heart was pounding so hard it made her ears ring.
Coincidentally, at this moment, the refined and gentle Richard walked into the dance studio. He smiled and asked, “Shelley, what are you and Ms. Turner talking about?”
“Uncle Richard!”
Shelley was innocent, harmless, and quirky. She replied, “I was just having a little girl talk with Ms. Turner. Can’t let boys know!”
“All right, then. Girls‘ little secrets are definitely not for boys.”
Richard chuckled as he ruffled his niece’s head. He handed her a bottle of lemonade and then gave another bottle to Savannah. He said, “Ms. Turner, you’ve worked hard.”
“D–Dr. Ross, you’re too kind. Shelley is very smart, and I don’t have to work hard at all.” Savannah regained her senses and shook her head gently.
In the midst of her movements, a few stray strands of hair playfully fell from the corner of her temple. Since she would be sweating at the dance today, her face was clean; she had no makeup.
Along with her graceful aura, she exuded a transcendent beauty that seemed to lift her above the mundane world.
It was as if a bright gem had cleared away the haze, making it impossible to avert one’s eyes.
Richard looked at her with a gentler gaze and asked, “Ms. Turner, do you know Channing Muir?”
Savannah was taken aback and almost spat out the water in her mouth. “D–Dr. Ross, what makes you say that?”
“Because I saw that you didn’t seem too happy after you heard those girls talking outside.”
Richard added apologetically, “I didn’t mean to peep into your secret, Ms. Turner, I was just worried about you‘
“I see,” Savannah murmured inwardly.
At first, Savannah thought she had hidden her feelings well, but she did not expect that someone had still managed to see through her poorly concealed emotions.

Savannah scratched her cheek in embarrassment. “It’s not a big deal. I know Mr. Muir because my mother is a housekeeper for the Guthrie family. Thus, we had some connections with the prominent families, and I had the chance to meet Mr. Muir when I was a child.”
“Oh, I see,” Richard said in realization. “No wonder Dr. Yates was also familiar with you last time in the hospital.”
“Um…” Savannah nodded hesitantly. When it came to Edgar, she subconsciously wanted to end the topic. “It’s getting late. Shelley should be hungry after dancing. Dr. Ross, you should go home and eat!”
“Sure. Ms. Turner, do you want to join us? Shelley would love to spend more time with you.”
“Maybe next time. I want to go back early and rest today.”
After Shelley said there was a little girl in her womb, Savannah just wanted to find a place where she could calm down.
Richard gracefully did not insist further after hearing that.
Standing at the door of the dance studio, he held Shelley’s hand and waved goodbye to Savannah. Then, they got into their car and left.
Savannah stood on the street and was about to call a taxi home. However, just then, her phone suddenly rang. After seeing the message on the screen, Savannah froze in place.
The message read: [Elegance Club, 3rd Floor.]
It was from Channing.
Elegance Club was a nearby club he had entered with Winona earlier.
At that time, Savannah thought Channing had not noticed her. Now, it seemed her actions had been under his watchful eye all along. However, it could also be that Winona told him.
No matter which way it happened, with Channing’s means, she had to go there today.
Carrying her bag, Savannah had no choice but to enter Elegance Club, known for its premium wine selection, with a completely natural look without any makeup.
Then, guided by a female staff, she soon reached the third floor.
Although she was mentally prepared, when the elevator doors opened to reveal the bustling scene inside, Savannah wanted to turn around and flee immediately.
This time, to her surprise, Channing and Winona had not reserved a private room but were seated directly at an open booth. Around the booth, in addition to the two of them, were other scions from their social circle, Even Edgar was sitting there with an attractive, innocent–looking woman by his side.
Channing sat on the couch facing Savannah. Perhaps due to alcohol, his strikingly handsome face carried a hint of danger.

Still, he seemed to match the gentle and graceful Winona beside him.

Seeing Savannah appear, Winona immediately said concernedly, “Savannah, you’re finally here. I just saw you with others downstairs and was worried about how it might affect you!”
Savannah said nothing but furrowed her eyebrows.
She could not be sure if it was just her imagination, but she had a nagging feeling that Winona’s words held some hidden meaning.
However, before she could dwell on it further, Channing had already fixed his gaze on her. His usually icy voice had a slightly deeper tone. “Come here.”
In an instant, the air grew tense.
Winona looked at Channing in surprise.
However, Savannah did not want to go over to Channing. Otherwise, she and Winona would be on his left and right, which would look awkward. “Mr. Muir, I’ll just sit at the side,” said Savannah.
“Do you want me to come over and invite you?” Channing asked, his dark eyes lifting slightly.
Savannah was speechless. She was defeated by authority.
The next moment, she pursed her lips and discreetly made her way to Channing’s side, sitting upright.
Channing did not physically tug at her, but his piercing eyes felt like an invisible grip on her neck. “What were you doing just now, dressing like this?” he asked.
“I sometimes teach kids to dance.”
Savannah lowered her head. Knowing she could not hide it from him, she whispered, “It’s just a regular dance
costume.”
“I don’t like it.” Channing threw his suit jacket on her and said in a deep voice, “Next time, you’re not allowed to wear it like this. Otherwise, you won’t need to teach kids anymore.”
Again, it was the authority that would never change.
Last time, when she went to the hospital to see her father, Channing did not like it. Now, as she taught children, he still did not like it.
With the simple words “next time, you’re not allowed,” he could easily extinguish her emotions and interests like a deity with absolute power.
Savannah felt sad and embarrassed. Her hands, hidden under the suit jacket, were trembling slightly. Her face, which had some color when she entered, was now pale as a sheet, without a trace of blood.
Seeing this, some of the scions felt a bit sympathetic, but they were not surprised.
After all, Channing was never gentle toward women, except for Winona.

Although everyone knew Savannah danced well through her impressive pole dancing performance last time, to put it bluntly, she was not Winona.
It was unthinkable that she could earn Channing’s respect and support for her hobbies.
Edgar felt the same way. When he saw Savannah’s pitiful look, he even wickedly curled his lips and, in a good mood, pushed aside the woman beside him, saying, “I originally thought this welcome party for Winona would be boring, but it’s finally starting to get interesting.”
Edgar continued, “Come on. Didn’t someone say they wanted to play designated Truth or Dare? Let’s start
now!”
