Chapter 140
Summer’s POV

Alexander moved toward me with the fluid grace of a predator, his blue eyes never leaving mine. The world seemed to fall away until there was nothing but the two of us, connected by an invisible thread that had drawn us together from the very beginning.
When he reached me, he took my free hand in his, his thumb gently stroking my knuckles. The simple touch sent electricity shooting up my arm.
“Summer,” he said, his deep voice slightly rougher than usual. “From the moment you walked back into my life, I knew that fate had given me a second chance I didn’t deserve.”
My heart hammered against my chest as Alexander slowly lowered himself to one knee before me.
Aurora pressed eagerly against my consciousness, our shared excitement nearly overwhelming.
“Every day with you has shown me what it truly means to be an Alpha–not through power or control, but through protection, partnership, and love.”
His voice remained steady, but I could see the emotion swirling in his eyes. “After everything you’ve survived, your strength humbles me. Your compassion inspires me. Your love…” he paused, swallowing hard, “your love has saved me in ways I never knew I needed saving.”
Tears filled my eyes as he opened the velvet box, revealing a stunning ring. The platinum band held an oval diamond surrounded by smaller stones that caught the light like captured stars.
“This ring,” he said softly, “was made just for you.”
He looked up at me with such raw vulnerability that it nearly broke me. “Summer Winster, will you honor me by becoming my mate, my Luna, my wife–in every human and wolf tradition? Will you build a future with me, lead our pack beside me, and let me love you for the rest of our days?”
The tears I’d been holding back spilled freely down my cheeks.
After years of being broken and believing I’d never be whole again, after losing Felix and thinking I’d never deserve happiness, the universe had somehow led me here–to this man who saw all of me and
loved every part.
“Yes,” I whispered, then found my voice. “Yes, Alexander. A thousand times yes.”
His face transformed with a smile so brilliant it took my breath away. He slipped the ring onto my finger- a perfect fit–before rising to his feet and cupping my face in his large hands.
“My Luna,” he murmured reverently before capturing my lips in a kiss that felt like coming home. Aurora howled her joy within me, and I could feel Alexander’s wolf responding in kind, their bond as

powerful as our human one.
“You’ve made me the happiest Alpha in existence,” he murmured against my lips.
Before I could respond, a series of explosions outside drew our attention.
We turned toward the balcony to see fireworks illuminating the night sky, bursting in brilliant arrays of silver and blue our pack colors against the darkness.

Alexander led me to the balcony, standing behind me with his arms wrapped protectively around my waist. I leaned back against his solid chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart against my spine as we watched the spectacular display.
“Did you plan all this?” I asked, tilting my head to look up at him.
His lips curved into a satisfied smile. “A Luna deserves a proper proposal.”
He nuzzled my neck, his breath warm against my skin. “And I wanted everyone to know that you’ve
accepted your place by my side.”
The fireworks continued, spelling out our names in glittering light before forming the silhouette of two
wolves running side by side.
“This is so beautiful,” I whispered, awestruck.
“I’m glad you like it,” he murmured back.
When the display ended, Alexander guided me back inside where an intimate dinner awaited.
A private chef had prepared a feast–rare prime rib that made Aurora rumble with appreciation–paired with delicate sides and a bottle of champagne so exclusive it was rarely seen outside royal werewolf
ceremonies.
“To my Luna,” Alexander said, raising his glass to mine. “May our reign bring strength to our pack and joy to our hearts.”
I lifted my glass with both hands, momentarily stunned by the sincerity in his voice and the weight of those words. My throat tightened slightly, and I had to blink a few times before I could speak.
“To us,” I whispered back, clinking my glass against his. “And to everything we’re building together.”
The champagne was crisp and luxurious, but it was the way Alexander looked at me–as if I were the center of his entire universe–that made my chest tighten with emotion.
After the meal, Alexander leaned close to me. “Ready for part two of our evening?” he asked, his voice low and intimate, sending a shiver down my spine.
“There’s more?” I asked, feeling pleasantly overwhelmed by everything already.

His eyes darkened with desire. “I’ve reserved the penthouse suite at The Crescent Hotel. Just for us.”
The heat in his gaze made my body respond instantly, a flush spreading across my skin as Aurora purred
with anticipation.
Alexander noticed my reaction and smiled, the predatory edge returning to his expression.
Without another word, he took my hand and led me out–his grip firm, possessive, sending a thrill through me with every step.
The moment the car door closed behind us, Alexander pulled me onto his lap, his mouth claiming mine with an urgency that matched the burning need building inside me.
His hands slid up my thighs, bunching the silken fabric of my dress as his fingers traced patterns on my
heated skin.
“I’ve been wanting to do this all evening,” he growled against my throat, his teeth grazing the sensitive spot where my neck met my shoulder – where a mating mark would soon permanently declare me his. You have no idea what that dress has been doing to me.”

I shifted on his lap, deliberately pressing against the hard evidence of his desire, drawing a sharp intake of breath from him. “I think I have some idea,” I teased, my fingers threading through his dark hair.
His growl vibrated through me, triggering an answering rumble from Aurora who was pressing impatiently against my consciousness, eager to be closer to her mate. “Careful, little wolf,” Alexander

“Maybe I want to get burned,” I whispered against his ear, delighting in the shudder that ran through his powerful body.
