“Do you want me to forgive you?” Juliette asked, then looked around and noticed the glasses of milk left on the dining table. She took a few steps forward and picked up a half–full glass of
milk.
“What? You want to have breakfast at our house before going back? Or did three years in prison leave you so deprived that you haven’t even had a sip of milk?” Sylvia sneered.
The next second, the cold milk, carrying a faint sour scent, splashed all over Sylvia.
“This is how I forgive and accept apologies. If water never falls on your own body, you’ll never know how uncomfortable it feels. As for whether they serve milk in prison, if you’re that curious, you can go try it yourself.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the glass shattered on the tiled floor, breaking into several sharp pieces. Just like Juliette’s feelings toward the Monroe family–completely beyond repair.
She took Max’s arm and said, “Let’s go.”
Max nodded and headed for the exit. None of the maids dared to stop them. They could tell that these two were not people to mess with. The poor feared the rich, but the rich feared. those who had nothing to lose. And these two? They were clearly a pair of lunatics.
Sylvia clenched her fists and screamed in fury, “Insane! You’re completely crazy!”
How funny. After going through so much hell, who wouldn’t go a little crazy?
Since her clothes were wet, Juliette needed to change before heading to work. As they stepped out of the villa, a black Maybach approached and came to a steady stop in front of them. Seeing the familiar license plate, Juliette’s heart sank. She always knew she’d run into Gavin eventually, but she never thought it would be at such a sorry moment. Her clothes were drenched, making her look utterly disheveled. Just like that stormy night three years ago, when the rain poured down on her body, drenching her in despair.
“When facing your enemies, the moment you show weakness, you’ve already lost. No matter how bad the situation is, always hold your head high and face them with confidence. Let them know that unless they kill you, you will always come back stronger.” Max’s voice was calm and indifferent, his thin lips barely moving as he spoke.
Juliette stole a glance at him. Max was dressed in a suit with no visible brand, yet something about him made it look like high–end, custom–made luxury. Maybe it was his aura.
She took a deep breath and forced herself to stand tall. She had already thrown milk on Sylvia

The driver stepped out and opened the car door. A pair of white Prada leather heels emerged. followed by Vivienne stepping gracefully out of the vehicle.
“Sis? You’re finally out of prison?!” Vivienne greeted her with a sweet smile, but that smile never reached her eyes. It was fake.
“Vivienne, after all these years, you still haven’t won an award for Best Actress?”
Vivienne’s face stiffened. She glanced at Gavin and said, “Juliette, are you still holding a grudge over what happened back then? I told Mom and Dad not to send you to prison, but they said you had to pay for your mistakes. Later, I was sent abroad for medical treatment, so I couldn’t do anything to help. I’m sorry.”
“If you were really sorry, then why did you spend the past three years involved with my ex- fiancé? And now you’re about to marry him? Doesn’t that disgust you? Or do you just love picking up my leftovers?” Juliette lifted her chin slightly, her striking features carrying an air of defiance.
Vivienne subconsciously took a step back.
It had been three whole years. She thought that after all this time, the once–stunning Juliette would be a shadow of her former self. Prison should have worn her down, making her old and dull. But no. She had grown into her looks, and she was even more breathtaking than before. Her beauty was so dazzling that it was almost unreal. But there was something different about her now–she wasn’t soft like she used to be. Now, she was like a finely sharpened dagger.
“Vivienne, are you okay? Are you hurt?” Gavin rushed over and stood protectively in front of
Vivienne.
If this had happened in the past, Juliette might have felt heartbroken for a long time. But now? She felt nothing.

“Gavin, don’t be like this. It’s my fault. If it weren’t for me, you and her would have been married long ago, living a happy life together.” Vivienne bit her lip, her eyes welling up with
tears.

Juliette then turned to Vivienne with a smirk. “And you, since you love picking up trash so much, maybe you should consider a career in recycling. Seems like a perfect fit.”
“Let’s go, honey!” Juliette hooked her arm around Max’s and walked toward a plain, unremarkable Volkswage
“Honey? That guy… that’s the same man from three years ago, isn’t it? She actually married him?” Vivienne asked in shock.
Gavin’s fists clenched tightly, his expression dark as a storm cloud. His gaze locked onto Max. Juliette had given him up… for what? A nobody who drove a beat–up car? Was he really inferior
to that man?
The Volkswagen sped through the streets and soon pulled into Janover Condo.
“Earlier at the Monroe family’s house… thank you, Juliette said once they got home. Then she walked into the kitchen, wringing out her damp hair as she asked, “Do you know the CEO of Sphere Corporation?”
“I’ve heard of him. Why?” Max leaned against the wall, his eyes showing a hint of curiosity.
“I was in prison for three years, so I don’t know much about what’s been going on in Newton. But earlier, at the Monroe Residence, I overheard them talking about how he’s been targeting them. I’m really curious about what kind of person he is. After all, anyone who hates the Monroe family as much as I do… is pretty interesting.
“Sphere Corporation is worth billions. If you manage to get the CEO’s favor, all your problems will be solved,” Max said with a hint of sarcasm.
Everything she said all pointed to one thing. A hunger for power. The Monroe family… he should have known better than to expect anything different from her. Once he caught her showing her true greedy nature, he’d have a good excuse to report back to Grandpa. Then, he would see if Grandpa still insisted on this marriage.
Juliette frowned and looked at him. “What do you mean by that?”
“Exactly what I said. I’m just an ordinary guy. I can’t offer you much help.”

She stared at Max, trying to steady her voice despite the tremor of frustration. “You may not have said it outright, but deep down, you look down on me, don’t you?
