“Sphere Corporation subsidiary, S Lab, Pharmaceutical Assistant position.”
“No way? Max, you’re kidding me, right?” Juliette sat up straight on the hospital bed.

This company had many connections and industry leaders within. Juliette had always dreamed of joining them, but considering her past, she didn’t even dare to send in a resume. How could they possibly want her?
“When you’re recovered, you can start right away. Are you satisfied with this job?” Max stood tall, his eyes catching the joy in hers.
“It’s more than satisfaction! This is a surprise, and a huge one. How did you manage to do it?” Juliette asked in disbelief.
“Don’t sell yourself short. First place in clinical medicine at Newton University? That title alone. is already impressive.”
It was just that the incident three years ago had buried her under so much weight that she no longer dared to hope for anything good to happen to her.
She glanced at the clock. The hands were already pointing to ten o’clock.
“Get some rest. I have something to take care of tonight.” Max pressed his fingers against his
brow.
“Okay”
Max put on a black suit and walked toward the door.
“Max, thank you. I’ll focus on getting better, I promise I’ll recover quickly. I won’t spend too much money on treatment,” Juliette said carefully.
Silly woman, a few bucks for medical treatment–is that more important than her health? After leaving the hospital, he went straight to Dragon’s Bay. This was prime real estate in Newton, where one luxury villa cost over a hundred million.
When Max walked in, Caleb was there too. Not far away, three men knelt on the ground, their faces bruised and swollen with fear and dread in their eyes.
Max adjusted his cuffs and asked. “Did you get anything out of them?”
“Sir, this was arranged by Vivienne Caleb said respectfully.

“Yes, yes! That woman named Vivienne told us to do it. Otherwise, even if you gave us an extra gut, we wouldn’t dare!”
“Sir, please spare us! We didn’t know who we were messing with! We were wrong!”
The three older men begged. Max looked at them as if they were ants, with not a shred of pity in his eyes.
“Cut their tendons, both hands and feet. Put them in Vivienne’s usual car. Give her a little surprise.” Max instructed coldly. He wasn’t a saint. The only kindness he ever showed was to Juliette, and that was because she gave him a feeling that was both familiar and not repulsive. As for everyone else’s life or death? It had nothing to do with him.
The three men’s faces turned ashen. Soon, bodyguards entered from outside the villa, dragging them away like stray dogs.
Juliette was discharged three days later. The doctor had recommended she stay for further observation, but Juliette simply couldn’t lie there anymore. Just the room fee alone was over six hundred dollars a day! Spending money like that made her anxious.
After leaving the hospital, she first headed to Nigori Adult Store. She had already told her boss. about quitting, but considering the trouble caused by those three thugs last time, the mess they made of the store, she still felt she needed to drop by and apologize in person.
She took a bus to the store. These days, her boss had been personally tending to it, and the place was once again clean and tidy. When he saw Juliette, he quickly invited her in to sit.
“Boss, I’m sorry for all the trouble I caused.”
“No trouble at all, no trouble at all. I always said you were a lucky charm, and I was right,” the boss grinned. When he first found out the store was trashed, he was worried sick. But the next day, a well–dressed professional–looking man came by and handed over five hundred thousand dollars, saying it was compensation for taking care of Juliette and for the damage caused to the store. Five hundred thousand dollars! That was more than enough to open
another store!
He had originally thought this woman had no choice, forced by circumstances to work in his shop. But now it seemed she was a rich man’s wife just out experiencing life. However, that elite man told him not to let Juliette know, so he obediently kept quiet.
“Oh right. The boss rummaged through the drawer for a while and pulled out an envelope.
Juliette, dus is your pay for your time working here.”

“It’s yours, and you should take it. Otherwise, I won’t be at ease. If you hadn’t come by, I would’ve called you in to pick it up!” The boss forcefully shoved the money into Juliette’s hands.
“Thank you. And this, you should take too. The boss took out a bag. It was a pink–packaged bag filled with something unknown.
“What’s this?”
“Hehe, our store’s signature item. A little souvenir for you.”
The store’s signature item… Well, isn’t that… Juliette thought for a second and accepted it anyway. Otherwise, it would seem disrespectful. Still, she didn’t think she’d ever have a use for it.
After leaving the adult store, Juliette glanced at the wages she’d just received and called Cassie.
“Cassie, are you free after work today? Want to go to the mall with me?”
“Sure, no problem, Cassie readily agreed.
Juliette wasn’t going shopping for herself. She was thinking of Max; how he took her to the hospital, helped her find a job. He had done so much for her. No matter what, she had to give him a small gift to express her gratitude.
At six in the evening, the two met up, had a simple dinner outside, and started strolling through the mall.
Jules, is your husband really just a bodyguard?” Cassie asked thoughtfully.
“Why do you say that?”
“Just feel like he has this vibe that Gavin couldn’t even compete with him. Does a bodyguard normally give off that kind of energy?”
“If he were a hidden rich dude, why would he marry me? He could have any woman he wants, I think you’ve just read too many romance novels–you’re starting to get unrealistic.”
“Maybe Cassie scratched her head.
Juliette walked into a men’s accessories store. After browsing through the items, she picked a silver tie. Max had good skin. Silver would look great on him. He’d definitely look amazing
wearing it
She paid without hesitation. Then, the two of them had some snacks at the plaza before heading home. When they got bask, the lights were already on inside. Max was sitting on the

“You’ve got some stamina, huh? Just out of the hospital and already running around,” he said lightly. Even when he was being caring, the words always came out sounding sarcastic.
Juliette had come to appreciate this side of him. At least it was better than Gavin. Gavin always talked “nicely, saying everything was for her own good, but when things really happened, he was never around. He always left her alone in the storm.
“Here. For you.” Juliette placed a bag in front of him.
Max raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”
