The negativity Gavin brought to Juliette only lasted for a moment. She had long since given up on him. so no matter how sarcastic he was, he couldn’t stir any waves in her heart. At six in the evening, while Juliette was browsing the food delivery app to decide on dinner, Cassie called. “Jules, my dear Jules,”
“What is it? From the way you’re talking, it sounds like you need a favor.” Juliette asked with a soft smile.
I do need a favor! Can you come with me to a banquet?”
“But I don’t have an evening gown, and I’m still at work.” Juliette glanced at the time. Soon, it would be the busiest time of the day.
“The dress is easy to fix. I know someone who can rent us a couple. As for work, can you talk to your boss? I managed to get two tickets for this banquet. Word is, the mysterious CEO of Sphere Corporation will be attending! I really want to land an interview with him. If I get that interview, a promotion and a raise will be guaranteed! But I have no experience with these kinds of banquets, and I don’t know the etiquette. You used to attend these all the time, so I can only ask for your help.”
It was true. Back when she was dating Gavin, she had attended countless banquets. She was always the most beautiful date at every event, which Gavin used to take pride in.
“Alright, I’ll ask my boss, but I can’t guarantee I’ll get the time off.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up, Juliette spoke to her boss, a middle–aged man. Despite running a store that didn’t seem all that reputable, he was a decent person.
The new salesgirl was incredibly beautiful, and in just two days, the store’s sales had nearly doubled. She was practically a lucky charm. It was just a leave request. Of course, he agreed right away.
Juliette informed Cassie that she had gotten the time off. She waited at the store for a while until Cassie pulled up in a Beetle to pick her up.
The two of them changed into evening gowns and did their makeup in the car.

The Beetle arrived at a mansion. By the time they got out, plenty of luxury cars were already parked outside.
Inside the grand hall, the sound of a piano played elegantly in the background. The space was lavishly decorated, filled with clinking glasses and laughter.
Both of them were starving, so they went to the buffet and grabbed a few things to eat.

Juliette chuckled at Cassie’s comment. Even though she was keeping a low profile, her smile still caught the attention of many.

“She’s stunning. Is she from a big city or overseas?”
A few wealthy young men whispered among themselves.
Gavin, naturally, had received an invitation to this banquet as well. He hadn’t expected to run into Juliette again here.

Vivienne glanced at a few of her socialite friends at the banquet. The women instantly got the message and made their way toward Juliette.
“Everyone, let me introduce you to Juliette. She’s not from a big city or overseas; she’s fresh out of prison!”

Are you enjoying all the attention from those men? Does it make you feel accomplished? But honestly, with prison record, no respectable man would ever marry you. The moment the men around them heard that Juliette had been to prison, they immediately
looked away.

“Go downstairs and have those three women removed.” His tone was calm, yet carried an unquestionable authority.
“Yes, sir.”
The assistant headed toward Juliette’s direction, crossing paths with Jacob Rodrigo.

“Mm.” Jacob responded lightly before sauntering over to Max.
“You’ve got to be kidding me. Since when is the heir of the Donovan family interested in an
ex–convict?”
Max clinked glasses with him and took a sip of wine.
