Chapter 12
Aurora’s POV
I could remember Shawn’s fists. Tiffany’s smug smirk. Jasmine’s snow globe and picture smashed on the floor by Tiffany.
I swallowed. “After I called you… after I found out about Jasmine.” My voice cracked, but I forced the words out. “After I realized Shawn had given her heart to Tiffany… everything fell apart.”
Their faces darkened instantly.
I continued, my voice shaking. “Because of Tiffany’s deceit against me, he locked me in a room for a full day. No food. No water. I was pregnant, but he didn’t know.”
Gasps and curses erupted around the room. Aaron slammed his fist into the wall.
“He left me there like an animal. And when Tiffany came, she pretended she wanted to help. She brought food, then slammed her own head against the wall and screamed. She lied, said I attacked her.” My voice broke. “And Shawn believed her.”
Charles’s voice shook with fury. “What did he do?”
I swallowed hard, bile rising in my throat. “He beat me. He didn’t even let me explain. He- he punched me in the face. He kicked me in the stomach several times. I begged him to listen, but he wouldn’t stop.”
Tears welled up in my eyes, but I kept going. “I tried to tell him I was pregnant. I tried to protect the baby, but he wouldn’t listen. He just kept hitting me until… until the blood started.” My voice broke completely, and I began sobbing.
Jake cursed loudly, storming across the room. “I’ll kill him. I swear to God-”
“Sit down,” Dad barked, his voice was sharp.
His face was pale, but his eyes were dark.
I forced a bitter smile. “I didn’t get the care I should’ve because I just wanted to leave. I didn’t care about anything else. So I went to the nearest hospital, they told me the baby couldn’t be saved. Then I came back. Shawn didn’t even notice I was gone or maybe he
didn’t care.”
A heavy silence fell in the room.
Asher’s hands shook. “He didn’t notice? After everything-”
“He didn’t care,” I whispered. “He only cared about Tiffany. He always only cared about Tiffany.”
The room exploded with rage. My brothers‘ voices clashed.
“We’ll ruin him.”
“He better watch his back.”
“He’s dead.”

“That’s enough.” Dad’s voice cut through the chaos. Everyone fell silent. He turned to me, softening his voice. “Aurora. We’ll handle this. He will pay. You won’t have to lift a finger.”
I released a weak, bitter and shaky laugh. “Don’t worry, father. I have already started.”
Their eyes snapped to me. Logan leaned forward. “How?”
I leaned back on the pillows with a cruel grin on my face. “Well, I left him a gift.”
James’s brows furrowed. “A gift?”
I nodded slowly. “At his birthday party. I knew he was expecting me to show up, smiling at his side like a trained dog. He hates anything that makes him look bad in public. So instead of showing up, I sent him… an envelope.”
Their eyes were fixed on me with fury burning in them, but yet I could see a small spark of curiosity hidden under the rage.
“What kind of envelope?” Walter asked, his jaw tight.
“The kind he’ll never forget.” I reached for my phone on the side table and opened it with shaking fingers. “I put everything inside. Our signed divorce papers. The papers showing! pulled out my investments. Photos of him and Tiffany together. My pregnancy report.” My voice shook for a moment before I steadied it. “And finally, the documents proving that he
murdered Jasmine for Tiffany.”
The room went silent.
Then Aaron whistled low. “Holy-”
Jake laughed bitterly, smacking his palm on his knee. “You didn’t just throw a punch, Rory. You blew the whole damn place–up.”
I lifted the phone and held it out for them to see. “And here’s the proof it worked better than I planned.”
They leaned closer as I opened the message. It was from an unknown number, delivered earlier when the plane landed.
