Chapter 90
“All these years, I’ve kept this incident in mind, always hoping to find her one day and say thank you.”
“I didn’t expect to meet her here today.”
The truth struck like a thunderbolt, shattering the world Felix Shaw had built for twenty years on lies and illusions.
He stumbled back a step, his gaze flicking from the photograph to the report, finally landing on my face.”
The face he had seen for three years but never remembered.
“It’s you…“”
His voice trembled.
“So it was you.“}
I looked at him coldly, taking in the ridiculous pain etched on his face.
“Now you recognize me?“}
Felix’s eyes instantly reddened. He reached out, wanting to touch me, then withdrew his hand as if burned. “Sarah…“”
“Slap!”
A resounding crack echoed through the hall.
It was the silver–haired old lady. She pushed forward and, with all her might, struck Claire Green across the face.
“Shameless liar!” The old lady trembled with rage. “You stole her life, and now you try to destroy it!“}
Claire Green collapsed to the floor, hair disordered, a distressing sight.”
She covered her face, suddenly unable to keep up with the act, and cried to Felix, “Brother Felix! Believe me! I’m the one who was with you! We promised!”
Felix, however, acted as though he heard nothing.”
He simply stared at me, fixed and intent.
Memory after memory returned.
He recalled the little girl in the dark cave who had stuffed the last wild fruit into his mouth.
He remembered the child who, as he lay beaten, had wept, “Don’t die! I’ll go find someone to save you.” He remembered the little girl in a white dress who had pulled him out of hell like a shaft of light.
All the memories he had lost, the ones he’d misassigned, surged back like a tide and overwhelmed him.”
He finally understood that his face blindness was not a disease.
It was his heart that had gone blind.”
He had pushed his salvation away, again and again.”
And pushed her deeper into darkness.
“Ah!”
Felix let out a raw, painful roar, spun, and slammed his fist into the nearby wall.
Blood trickled between his fingers.
Yet he felt no pain.
No physical hurt could measure against what tore him apart inside.
The police quickly uncovered the truth.”
The so–called “industrial espionage” was orchestrated by Claire Green.
She had bribed insiders at the Shaw Gallery and fabricated evidence, all to wreck my reputation and erase me.”
Felix didn’t call the police.”
He simply made one phone call. The next day, Claire Green was dismissed from the Vienna Orchestra permanently.”
All her lavish endorsements were terminated overnight.”
All the luxury cars and properties she’d received from Felix were reclaimed.
From the clouds, she had fallen to the ground.@
Refusing to accept defeat, she came to find me.”
I had just left the police station and was on my way to celebrate the gallery opening with the old lady.N
Claire rushed up, fell to her knees before me, clutching my legs and pleading.
“Sarah Grant, I was wrong. Please forgive me!”
“For the sake of what we went through as children, please beg Brother Felix to spare me!”
I freed my leg and looked down at her.”

“How dare you invoke our childhood?”
“Claire Green, you stole twenty years of my life, and now you want to erase it with a single apology?“”
Her sobs cut off, and a flash of resentment crossed her face. Her eyes hardened; she realized she had lost everything she had schemed to gain. A cold realization struck her: all her schemes had come crashing to nothing.
