Chapter 360 A Fiery Kiss.
He and Selina arrived at the private lounge where Anneliese and the others were gathered, a slice of cake in hand.
As the door swung open, the group was no longer playing cards.
Instead, they had moved to the couch area, engaged in a game of Truth or Dare.
Joel had dared Anneliese to hold a rose with glimmering petals, which Jonathan was to remove one by one with his lips.
As Anneliese held the rose between her teeth, Jonathan pulled her onto his lap, lowering his head to bite off the petals.
She tilted her head back, inhaling his crisp, intoxicating scent mingled with the fragrance of the rose.
For the first time, she realized how many petals a single rose could have.
Everyone watched and teased the pair, this intimate little game far more torturous than a show of public affection.
Anneliese’s cheeks gradually flushed, her neck straining, while the man’s deft lips and agile tongue removed only half of the petals.
“Anneliese! What are you doing?”
Zacharias bellowed from the doorway, the veins on his forehead nearly bulging out.
Selina’s eyes mirrored the same shock and jealousy.
Before witnessing this, she had assumed that Anneliese’s tarnished reputation meant Jonathan’s marriage to her was a mere formality–a strategic move to pave the way for his true love, and that there could be no real intimacy between them.
But now, seeing them entwined, sharing a passionate kiss over the rose petals, it felt like a second, crushing slap to Selina’s face, nearly causing her to tip over the cake she was holding.
Startled by Zacharias‘ thunderous voice, Anneliese instinctively turned her head. However, before she could, Jonathan’s large hand clamped firmly on the back of her neck.
Her eyes widened in surprise, and the next moment, he bit the rose, tilted his head, and pressed his lips firmly onto hers.

The two petals still clinging to Anneliese’s lips were swept into his mouth along with hers, crushed and kneaded together in the intoxicating press of lips and tongue.
Behind them, hurried footsteps echoed.
Zacharias lunged at them, furious and flustered. “Let go of her, Jonathan!”
Anneliese’s scalp tingled upon hearing the commotion.
The man, clearly displeased with her momentary distraction, punished her with a sharp bite.
“Ouch!”
Her cry of pain was immediately muffled by his lips, and it transformed into a soft, melodious moan, dripping with an almost intoxicating allure.
Her cheeks flushed crimson as she glared at him, half in indignation, half in embarrassment.
Jonathan’s narrow eyes flickered, a low, teasing glint in them.
“Mm-”
Instead of releasing her, a low, husky moan escaped him, following the rhythm of the
moment.
Anneliese’s eyes widened in disbelief. How could he be even more exaggerated than last night, when they had been tangled under the covers?
She was utterly mortified, her face red enough to burn.
Finally, he eased his hold slightly, raising a brow and speaking innocently. “I was just humming along with you, love. Why are you embarrassed?”
Anneliese shot him a flustered glare, then buried her face further into his chest, trying to hide.
She wasn’t embarrassed in front of Zacharias or Selina, though.
Rather, she was mortified in front of people like Carter and Joel.
It took courage to act so intimately and flirtatiously in front of acquaintances.
“Hey, barging in uninvited is hardly polite!” yelled Zane.
Zacharias ignored him and charged toward the couple, but before he could reach them, Zane stood up and blocked his path.

Zacharias didn’t even glance at Zane, wholly focused on Anneliese’s figure.
Anneliese, seemingly oblivious, clung even tighter to Jonathan.
Zacharias‘ fury boiled over, and his face was twisted in anger.
“Move!”

He shoved Zane with all his strength, and the latter’s muscular body stumbled back like a rag doll.
Jessica quickly caught him, and he steadied himself, muttering, “I must’ve had quite a bit to drink. I feel tipsy. Thanks.”
His long arms instinctively draped over Jessica’s shoulders, arching his back, bending his legs, and practically hanging onto her.
Nearby, Joel squinted at this ridiculous display of forced dependence–it was almost unbearable to watch.
Jessica, however, didn’t notice anything amiss.
She braced Zane and even stretched her leg to trip Zacharias slightly.
Zacharias, eyes fixed on Anneliese, didn’t notice his footing.
He staggered forward and crashed into the coffee table, smashing a bottle of wine and several glasses in a clattering mess.
