Chapter 367 Nothing Happened?
“Fair is fair. Now you answer one of my questions.”
“I’m all ears.”
Anneliese blinked again. “Jess said you were jealous. Is that true?”
Jonathan froze for a moment, clearly not expecting her to ask so suddenly.

However, Anneliese had already grasped his hand–the one still covering her eyes–and pulled it away.
She lifted her head to look at him, her clear almond eyes bright and unwavering, demanding
an answer.
A smile slowly spread on Jonathan’s face as he raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah. Ms. Sweeting has pretty sharp instincts. She was right.”
Anneliese’s eyes widened under his stare, her rosy lips parting bit by bit.
He actually admitted to being jealous.
“Shouldn’t I be jealous?”
Upon seeing her astonished expression, Jonathan almost laughed.
He countered softly, leaning down to brush two quick kisses against her lips.
Her lashes trembled, and her heart fluttered with them.
The two glasses of wine from earlier seemed to hit harder now. Her whole body felt light, almost dizzy.
“But, why would you be jealous?” she asked, confused yet hopeful,
Is it because he likes me?
People only got jealous when they cared.
Jonathan chuckled at the dazed look.
Anneliese didn’t resemble the heartbroken woman Zacharias had described at all. She’s more

like a naive girl who hadn’t yet understood love.

Unable to resist, he pressed a few tender kisses to her wide, bewildered eyes before smiling.
“Isn’t it natural for me to be jealous over my wife?”
His kisses carried no lust, only gentle affection, just as he had always treated her.
However, Anneliese’s heart sank with disappointment. Smiling faintly, she buried her face in his chest.
She had forgotten that jealousy didn’t always come from love. Sometimes, it was just a man’s possessiveness.
It was all because she was his wife, nothing more.
Sensing her mood shift, Jonathan lowered his head, puzzled.
All he saw was the crown of her dark hair.
“Anne?” He tilted her chin gently.
Nevertheless, Anneliese’s eyes were closed, as though she had already fallen asleep.
Jonathan let out a soft laugh, pulling her tighter into his embrace.
He reached for the blanket, draped it over them both, and soon drifted off as well, lulled by her faint scent of wine and sweetness.
Yet, Anneliese slowly opened her eyes from his arms, glancing at him.
Leaning back against the seat, Jonathan’s sharp features glowed faintly under the neon lights streaming past the window.
His deep brows, high nose, closed lips, and strong jawline were devastatingly handsome.
Falling for such a man would be natural. Being confused would be normal.
However, she reminded herself to stop being sentimental.
The next morning, Anneliese woke up with a heavy head. It’s a mix of a hangover and what felt like the start of a cold.

Her last memory was falling asleep in the car, leaning on Jonathan.
Did he carry me back?

She reached for the remote and opened the curtains, realizing she was in Jonathan’s bedroom.
He was no longer beside her, but she was dressed in a nightgown, and there was nothing else
beneath it.
Touching her cheek, she noticed her makeup had been removed, her skin clean and fresh.
So not only had he carried me home, but he’d also cleaned me up and changed my clothes?
Her face burned hot as she ruffled her hair in embarrassment.
Just then, her phone rang.
She found it on the nightstand and answered. It was Jessica.
“Good morning, Jess.”
“Morning? It’s almost 10. Tsk, how many rounds did you two go last night? It must’ve been wild. Your voice is hoarse. Honestly, I give Mr. Fullbuster a bad review for not being gentler with you.”
Before Anneliese could explain, Jessica had already painted the scene in her head.
Anneliese was speechless.
After a pause, she muttered, “I just have a bit of a cold. We didn’t do anything. Don’t overthink.”
“What? Nothing happened?”
Jessica gasped. She was standing at the vanity, dabbing concealer over the trail of shocking red hickeys across her neck and chest.
