Alyssa wasn’t concerned about Elena. She was able to deal with Megan, who was Howard’s official wife, so there was no way she couldn’t deal with Jimmy’s kept woman. In the end, she decided that Elena
wasn’t worth her time.
Meanwhile, Megan was standing next to the stage and observing the live studio set. There were a total of
12 contestants for “Celestial Voice“. There were three guests, and the competition would last for five rounds, with each round being a week apart.
The program would be broadcast live first. Once the live was over, the highlights would be compiled,
edited, and released online. That way, both audiences would be catered to.
Today was the first live broadcast, which would introduce the guests, contestants, and teams. The 12
contestants would be separated into three teams with each guest leading a team of their own. One of the
guests was Alyssa. The other two guests were also professional and famous singers in the industry.
Megan carefully walked around on stage. The program had hosted rehearsals in the past, but she had been too weak at the time, so she could only watch from afar. She also had no choice but to make her adjustments via long–distance communication.
As a result, rumors had circulated that Elena was too proud to join the rehearsals, but Jimmy had
submitted a medical report with her name redacted to the higher–ups, which ultimately put those rumors
to rest.
Apparently, the report stated that she had been in a serious accident ten days ago. The staff members who got close enough to her were also able to see the bruises littering her body that the makeup wasn’t able to cover up completely, proving that she was absent because of her injuries.
Megan had noticed the staff members‘ curious eyes on her, but she didn’t spend too much time thinking about it since she wasn’t sure what was going on. She focused her attention on studying the stage.
A few moments later, she heard the sounds of a commotion. When she looked up to see what was
happening, her eyes landed on Howard.
“Oh my God. It’s Mr. Larson!”
“I thought Howard rarely comes to these sort of events.”
“Just think about who the guests are, and you’ll know why he’s here.”
“Oh, I see. He must be here for Alyssa.”
“Of course! Even though Larson Group is also involved in the entertainment industry, they invested in a different aspect of it. Their main business is still technology. Just take a look at all the contestants and guests here. Who would a man as great as Howard be here for except Alyssa?”
“So the rumors about Alyssa and Howard on the internet are true?”

“I’m 90% sure that they are.”
“But doesn’t Howard have a wife?”
“Isn’t this a common scenario among the wealthy? Besides, Alyssa won’t be alive for much longer. I’m quessing that his actual wife is just turning a blind eye to their relationship.
“Truthfully, I think that Alyssa is better than his wife. She doesn’t have a spine at all. I can’t believe she would willingly put herself through this. Perhaps she’s unwilling to give up the Larson family’s fortune.”
“I think so too. When I found out that my boyfriend was fooling around with other women, I kicked him to the curb immediately. I wouldn’t be able to stand it if I were in her shoes. Howard’s wife deserved what she got for being a spoiled and dependent woman.”
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Jimmy exclaimed as he walked over to them, wearing a displeased expression. “Don’t you know that you’re not supposed to discuss this matter so casually?”
The gossips immediately shrank in on themselves.
Jimmy walked over to Megan and looked at her worriedly. There were too many people around, so he couldn’t say too much. He had no choice but to communicate with her using only his eyes.
Megan simply smiled, shaking her head lightly. She had made her decision to leave Howard a long time ago, so she wasn’t scared of a few rumors.
“I found someone to go over the details with you. He’s backstage. Let’s head over there now,” Jimmy
explained.
Megan nodded and followed Jimmy backstage.
Meanwhile, Alyssa had bounded over to Howard’s side. “Howard!” she called, smiling brightly.
Howard nodded and hummed in greeting. He saw Jimmy supporting a woman in a long coat backstage when he raised his head, and he couldn’t help but stare at her back.
Alyssa followed Howard’s line of sight. She smiled and said, “That’s Elena. She’s the mysterious contestant that I told you about before. I suspect that she’s actually Jimmy’s kept woman.”
Howard arched an eyebrow and looked at Alyssa, prompting her to continue, “She was absent from the rehearsals two days ago. Someone complained that she was being too proud, but Jimmy submitted a medical report to the higher–ups that proved that she was involved in an accident ten days ago.
“She missed the rehearsals because she was bedridden. I didn’t think too much about it at the time, but I just learned a secret about her.” A mysterious smile stretched across Alyssa’s lips. “The accident she was involved in ten days ago actually ended in a miscarriage.”
