If it hadn’t been for the way Mad Dog bowed and scraped before Altair, Simon would never have believed this was the same Mr. Bishop who killed without blinking. And for a moment, he didn’t know what to do, so he turned to Evelyn.
“Since Mr. Bishop has spoken, go ahead and let off some steam,” she said. “Didn’t you say you were upset before? Whoever bullied you then, go ahead and settle the score now.”
“I… Can I really?” Simon still couldn’t believe it.
“Of course. Go on. I’m right here with you–they won’t dare lift a finger.”
Encouraged, Simon stepped forward at once. He went straight for Ethan, grabbing him by the collar and landing several heavy slaps across his face. “That’s for picking on me! That’s for bullying me!”
Ethan staggered, dazed and confused, not even sure what was happening. “Mad Dog… Mad Dog, help me!”
But Mad Dog kept his head lowered, kneeling at Altair’s feet, not daring to move. He couldn’t even protect himself now.
Simon rained down slap after slap, then added a few hard kicks. After that, he turned to the rest of the group–every single one who had bullied him the day before, including Mad Dog—and struck back one by one. By the time he finished, his chest was heaving.
“I… I’m exhausted.” Simon looked helplessly at Evelyn.
“Then let’s wrap this up. Mad Dog, aren’t you going to apologize? Or do you need me to remind you?” Altair clasped his hands behind his back and shot a cold glance at Mad Dog.
“Yes, yes!” Mad Dog scrambled like a beaten dog, crawling on his knees until he was right in front of Simon. “Mr. Simon, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done everything I did. Please forgive me. I didn’t know who I was offending. I was blind!”
When Ethan saw even Mad Dog like this, he finally realized they had provoked the wrong man.
The whole room of thugs dropped their arrogance and begged Simon for mercy.
“Mr. Simon, will you forgive them?” Altair asked.
“Hmph! I won’t!” Simon snapped.
Ethan and Mad Dog had ganged up on him more than once. Just because his family was poor, they thought he was easy to bully. Yes, he had vented his anger this time, but forgiveness? That

wasn’t in him.

“Alright. You all heard him. Mr. Simon said he doesn’t forgive you. If you want to live, then break an arm or a leg to atone!”
Simon’s jaw dropped. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard. Why was Altair helping him
this much?
Mad Dog and his crew went pale. The threat sent chills down their spines. Mad Dog in particular collapsed at Simon’s feet, clutching his ankles desperately. “Mr. Simon, I’m really sorry! Please forgive me, I beg you! I’m nothing but a dog. Don’t stoop to a dog’s level!”
Mad Dog’s pitiful begging only made Simon’s skin crawl. But just then, a sickening crack rang out, followed by a scream.
Altair had already dislocated the arm of the nearest thug—and this wasn’t just a twist. The arm came clean off and hit the ground with a thud.
Simon jumped back in horror, trembling from head to toe. He hadn’t expected the man to be this cruel. The rumors were true–he was vicious beyond reason.
Ethan’s vision swam, and he collapsed in a faint. Mad Dog and the others scrambled to surround Simon, pleading. “Mr. Simon, save us! Please forgive us, have mercy!”
Simon’s silence would mean death for them next. The sight was too bloody for them to bear.
“Mr. Simon, if you’re still not satisfied, I’ll continue=”
“I forgive them!” Simon blurted out. He couldn’t let Altair tear off another arm.
He was terrified. This was the first time he had seen such ruthless brutality, and though Altair stood on his side, Simon still felt his blood run cold.
“Since Mr. Simon forgives you, we’ll end it here,” Altair declared.
The men fell over themselves to bow before Simon. “Thank you, Mr. Simon! Thank you!” They were shaking inside. Altair truly was a demon who killed without hesitation.
Evelyn finally rose and patted Simon’s shoulder. “You’ve had your revenge. Let’s go.”
Simon quickly followed her lead. Altair came out too, while Mad Dog and his battered crew hobbled along behind him.
Meanwhile, Altair’s men stayed behind to clean up the bloody mess.
Outside, night had already fallen. On the outskirts of the city, the streets were dim and unfinished, the streetlights sparse and flickering.

Evelyn noticed Altair still trailing behind and whispered to Simon, “Wait for me here.”
She walked ahead, and Altair hurried after her. Only when they were far enough away that Simon couldn’t overhear did Altair pout and mutter, “Boss…”
“Is this how you manage your men?” Evelyn demanded.
“Boss, I’ve got so many under me–how can I keep track of them all? Mad Dog’s just a small fry. I didn’t know he offended you. Please, forgive me!” Altair tugged at the hem of Evelyn’s jacket.
