“Ledgers? What ledgers? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Henry’s eyes darted around as he forced himself to stay calm.
But if one listened closely, there was a faint tremor in his voice. In truth, Connor was bluffing.
Ashton had already obtained a copy of the ledger, so there was no need to force Henry to hand it over. But a guilty conscience was always easy to provoke.
Even for a cunning old fox like Henry, this sudden bluff made it impossible to hide the panic on his face.
Still, he was a wily veteran. He recovered quickly. However, his earlier question was a dead giveaway.
“You don’t know? Do you even believe that yourself?” Connor grinned when he saw the reaction.
Now that he knew Henry had evidence against those people, things would be much easier.
On their turf, all accomplices are treated as equally guilty. The Wilson family clearly couldn’t be allowed to stay.
Henry would never admit he had the ledgers. They were his leverage over those people.
Without them, with all the dirty things the Wilson family had done in secret over the years, they would have been wiped out many times over.
But judging by Connor’s words, it seemed Ashton had already set his sights on the Wilson family, and that was very bad news.
The Wilson family wanted to capitalize on Ashton’s weakness to seize the Wade family’s resources. They couldn’t afford any mishaps at this crucial juncture.
“Ashton, are you just going to let your man cause a scene in public? Aren’t you afraid of embarrassing yourself?” Henry didn’t want to deal with Connor’s aggression and wanted Ashton to get things under control.
But Ashton didn’t even spare him a glance. He walked past them with Briar and headed for the yacht’s cabin.
Their objective was clear, as if they already knew there was something fishy in the cabin.
“What are you doing?” Sienna panicked as soon as she saw Ashton and Briar heading for the cabin.
One of the rooms inside still held what they’d hidden away. Those two absolutely could not be allowed to find it.
Briar let out a cold laugh and shoved Sienna aside. If Noah hadn’t grabbed her in time, Briar would have kicked her straight into the sea.

Sienna and the others turned pale and dared not move.
At the same time, they were wary of the gun in Briar’s hand.

Ashton pointed to a few small boxes that had been pulled out. “This is all the information the Wilson family has collected. Take it with you.”
“Yes.” Brandon and Ian quickly packed the boxes and took them away.
The entire operation took less than five minutes, and the items Henry used as his lifeline were gone.
Ashton even restored the scene to its original condition.
The two then made their way to the pilothouse. Inside, a lone middle–aged man saw Ashton and Briar and was so frightened that he immediately ran to a corner, cowering with his head in his hands.
“Mr. Wade, I’m just the driver! I don’t know anything!”
“Please don’t kill me!”
Ashton was at a loss for words. He wondered if he looked that murderous.
Briar ignored the man and went to check the spot where he had been standing. It didn’t take her long to find something.
“Ashton, come and see this,” Briar called out to him.
Ashton stepped forward, and his face darkened instantly. “The Wilsons really have some nerve.”
A murderous glint appeared in Briar’s eyes. “No wonder that woman tried to stop us! They’ve planted two large boxes of explosives on this yacht. If this goes off, the blast will be far more powerful than those two small bombs you have.”

The driver was already too shocked to speak by the two boxes of explosives Briar found. Hearing Ashton’s question, he waved his hands frantically. “No, no, no! I didn’t know! I don’t know anything!”
If the driver had known two boxes of explosives were hidden right where he had just stood, nothing would have convinced him to come tonight.
If those two boxes of explosives went off, he would be the first to be killed.
The driver prayed inwardly, ‘Oh my god! Help me!”
Perhaps it was that terrified expression that spared him- Ashton didn’t make things hard for him. Instead, he went back to the deck and personally named two men to carry the crates topside.
The two men who were chosen weren’t scared at first. But when they saw that Ashton wanted them to move two boxes of explosives, they nearly dropped the boxes in their arms.
One of them stammered, “Mr. Wade, this… this is explosives!”
“I know. Is there a problem?” Fearing the man might tremble so hard his legs would break, Ashton gave him a disarmingly friendly smile.
It would have been better if he hadn’t smiled. The moment he did, he nearly scared the other man to death.
“Is it safe to move the dynamite around like this?” the man asked, trembling with fear.
They were afraid that it would
go off.
Ashton patted his trembling shoulder. “As long as you don’t shake, these won’t go off. But if you keep shaking like that…”
Ashton didn’t finish his sentence, but the implication was clear.
So, the two men immediately stopped shaking. No one would dare to shake it again.
When they went down, there were only two of them. When they came back up, there were five.
Two of them were carrying boxes. And when everyone on deck got a look inside those boxes, they were stunned. It was a box full of explosives.
These two boxes of explosives definitely did not belong to Ashton and Briar. They came onto the yacht empty–handed.
Of course, everyone automatically ignored the bombs and guns in Ashton’s and Briar’s hands.
It was obvious that the Wilson family brought these two boxes of explosives onto the yacht.
