Chapter 7
Dominic frowned, seeming impatient with her outburst. Still, he reached out and pulled her back, staring at Bella with affection.
“Bella, listen to me.”
“I’m not lying to you. She was my classmate in college.”
“At the time I was young, I introduced her to my father.”
“Later I don’t like her anymore, but my father is sentimental and really likes her
“You know how hard it was for me to earn my heir position.”
“Toprevent my brothers from finding excuses to target me, I had to maintain that partner relationship.”
He paused, his eyes almost brimming with affection.
“But then I met you, and I found my destined mate.”
“When the time is right, I will bring you home to see my father.”
“Then he will naturally understand that the only shewolf Dominic Vexmoor truly wants to bond with is you.”
That public declaration, word for word, was a slap in the face to me, his legal future mate.
The gossiping ones immediately changed the subject.
“I knew it! It was arranged by the family, no wonder Dominic didn’t like her.”
“Wow, Dominic and Bella are true love, how touching!”
“Ugh, someone who takes up the title and contributes nothing is pathetic and hateful.”
“If I were her, I’d have left long ago. How does she have the nerve to stay here?”
“Exactly! The one Dominic loves is the future Darkhawl Pack Luna.”
“An unloved future mate is no different from trash ”
Harsh, cutting mockery swallowed me again
Bella flung herself into Dominic’s arms, tears of emotion welling in her eyes.
“Dominic, I knew it! I’m the one you love! I love you so much.”
She hugged Dominic tightly, then turned and looked at me with contempt.
“Audrey, did you hear that?”
“If you!
still have any shame, leave Dominic right now.”
“A she–wolf like you does not deserve him.
I ignored her and looked at Dominic. “Is that what you

you think too?”
‘Audrey, we’ve been together seven years, but there was never any feeling.”
“But Bella… she’s different–innocent, kind, more sensible than you.
‘She’s my destined mate. I will never leave her.”
He paused, his tone disdainful.

“As long as you accept Bella’s identity, I can petition my father.”
“I’ll get you promoted to vice president of Darkhawl Pack and give you 1% of my personal shares as compensation.”
I laughed in anger. “Do you think I really care about that Luna title?”
Dominic wore an arrogant look.
“What else? Countless she–wolves are dying for the Darkhawl Pack Luna. They would beg for that chance by all means.”
His high–and–mighty attitude implied I couldn’t survive without him, but I only found it ridiculous.
Dominic, have you ever thought why, among all your capable brothers, your father deliberately chose you, the most unremarkable one to be the Darkhawl Pack heir?”
At those words his face darkened as if I had slapped him hard.
“Audrey, don’t get carried away.”
“Even if you perform well, so what? Have you considered whose connections and clients are really at play?”
“Without the identity of Dominic Vexmoor’s future mate, what value would you have?”
“Without you, world Darkhawl Pack stop functioning? Ridiculous!”
He waved his hand grandly, full of bluster.
“I can hire dozens to replace you!”
Then, he gripped Bella’s arm tightly and said,
“And you! How dare you assault Bella today!”
Assault? I gave a bitter laugh.
“Dominic, this is rich.”
“You legally prearranged a bonding ceremony with me in New York, then turned around in Los Angeles and publicly announced you’d bond with Miss Carter.”
“Now your lawful future mate meets your mistress and you call me the assaulter?”
“Listen to yourself. Don’t you think what you’re saying is shameful?”
