Chapter 18

When he pushed open the door to the private room, everyone inside turned in unison to look at Landon.

There weren’t many people in the room, but there were still a few unexpected faces.

What were Skylar and Leah doing here?

Wasni Skylar supposed to have already left town with Seth?

As for Leah, he had already told her to stop bothering him. Why was she here now?

Seeing these two uninvited guests, Landon frowned almost instantly.

He had always been the type to avoid trouble, but this time, he decided to cut to the chase and clear things up once and for all.

Seeing Landon walk in, Leah was the first to approach, holding a gift box. “Landon, happy birthday. This is your birthday present from me.”

Landon pushed her gift away, frowning. “Leah, I made it very clear to you last time. I don’t like you, and I’m definitely not getting back together with you. What’s the point of this?”

Leah’s face turned awkward for a moment, but it was quickly replaced by annoyance.

As the acknowledged goddess of the foreign languages department, she had countless admirers. Yet now, Landon had rejected her three times.

Having been put on a pedestal for so long, she was starting to get angry.

“Landon Crow, don’t you change girlfriends more often than you change clothes? Why can’t we get back together? Am I not even as good as that Melody?”

Hearing Leah mention Melody, Landon’s brows immediately knitted together.

Because of the rumors about him and Leah, Melody must have been heartbroken. And the reason those rumors spread so fast and wide was undoubtedly due to

Leah fueling them from behind the scenes.

It wasn’t that Landon didn’t know what these people were doing behind his back, he just couldn’t be bothered to care.

But now that he understood his feelings for Melody, how could he possibly let Leah belittle her?

Leah, you’re not even worthy of being compared to Melody.”

‘Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been doing behind my back, but I advise you to stop. I turned a blind eye before because I didn’t care what people hought of me. But now I have feelings for Melody, so I won’t let you mess around. I’m telling you one last time: stop bothering me.”

As soon as Landon said this, Leah’s face instantly turned pale. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she pushed past Landon and ran out of the room.

The gift box in her hand fell to the floor, revealing the birthday present she had intended to give him: a basketball jersey.

Landon glanced down at it and couldn’t help but scoff.

Leah, who claimed to like him, didn’t even know which team he supported.

This jersey wasn’t just from a team he didn’t like, it was from the team he hated the most.

Landon looked up, not sparing the gift box another glance, and started to walk into the room, only to have his path blocked by someone else.

What Landon had just said to Leah hadn’t just shocked her, everyone else in the room was stunned as well.

As Landon’s friends, they knew his attitude toward love all too well. This was the first time he had ever said he truly liked someone.

Not to mention, the person he said he liked was Melody.

Could it be that Melody had actually made the impossible happen?

There was only one person in the room who didn’t think so: Skylar, who was now blocking Landon’s way.
