Skylar had heard what Landon said about liking Melody, but she had always believed she was the most special person in his heart, his ‘one that got away.
Whether it was their childhood bond or what Seth had told her, Skylar had enough confidence to believe that Landon’s words about liking Melody were just an excuse to get rid of Leah.
Seth had told her that Landon was only with Melody to make her angry and drive her out of town, so Skylar naturally assumed she was the irreplaceable one in
Landon’s heart.
So, just as she was about to board the plane to leave, Skylar ran away again, which is why she was here right now.
Now, she stood before Landon with a smile, still in a simple white dress.
Landon, I know you were just saying that out of anger. Come on in and blow out the candles. We’ve been waiting for you.”
Hearing Skylar’s cutesy voice, Lucas, who was standing nearby, couldn’t help but shudder.
As Landon’s friend for many years, he knew the history between Skylar and Landon’s father, so he didn’t like her, and he especially disliked her casually eferring to herself and them as “we”.

hurt expression appeared on her face. “But, aren’t you with Melody to make me give up? How could you possibly really like her? Landon, Seth told me verything. Don’t lie to me anymore.”
Landon couldn’t help but clench his fists.
Yes, my initial reason for getting with her was to make you give up. But I have actually started to like her. I admit I’m a bastard, I shouldn’t have used her, but I won’t deny the fact that I like her.”
Skylar, I think there are some things I need to make clear to you.”
I know that you, Seth, and even my friends all mistakenly thought that the person I liked was you. You all thought I wasn’t with you because I couldn’t face our athers’ past.”
I’m telling you clearly today: I don’t like you. I never have, and I certainly don’t now.”
