Chapter 26

Almost instantly, Melody dismissed this absurd thought.

Even in the month or so they were together two years ago, Landon had never once given her flowers. Now, they barely had any connection. How could they possibly be for her?

Melody still remembered that among the countless rumors about Landon from two years ago, one was that he never went back to an ex.

Thinking that Landon would naturally leave when he couldn’t find who he was looking for, and that there was no need for her to initiate a conversation, Melody averted her gaze and prepared to continue resting.

But to her surprise, Landon immediately strode over and handed her the bouquet.

“Melody, congratulations on graduating. Welcome back.”

Staring at the bouquet being offered to her, Melody couldn’t help but be surprised.

These flowers were they actually for her?

The orange-toned bouquet was enough to brighten anyone’s mood. It was clearly carefully prepared, not just a random arrangement grabbed from a shop.

But the more she saw his thoughtfulness, the more confused she felt.

Landon, what did he mean by this?

These flowers are for me?”

Melody shifted her gaze to Landon’s face, trying to detect some hint of amusement.

Because in her memory, Landon was always so aloof, as if he didn’t care about anyone. How could he possibly give someone flowers, let alone her?

She was clearly just a pawn he had used to get back at Skylar.

Even though two years had passed, and she had deliberately forced herself not to think about it, remembering it now still made her heart ache.

But she never expected that what Landon said next would shock her even more.

Yeah, they’re for you. But it’s my first time giving a girl flowers, so I don’t have any experience. If you don’t like them, I’ll do better next time.”

Melody was truly baffled. What on earth did he mean?

Seeing she was still hesitant to take the flowers, Landon didn’t get angry. He tucked the bouquet into her arms and casually sat down on the sofa next to her.

To avoid making her uncomfortable, he didn’t sit too close, maintaining a polite distance. Although, deep down, he could no longer suppress the urge to pull mer into his arms.

‘Melody, I’m so happy to see you back. These past two years, have you been well?”

Melody nodded. “I’ve been fine.”

“Melody, about what happened before, although I’ve apologized countless times in the letters I sent you over the past two years, I still want to say it to your face: I’m sorry.”

“I like you. Whether it was two years ago when we were dating, or now, two years later, I still like you very much.”

So, Melody, can you give me another chance?”
