Chapter 27
Landon’s words made Melody’s eyes widen, but she couldn’t help but ask, “Letters? What letters?”
Hearing this, Landon frowned. “After you blocked me, I wrote you a letter every month for the past two years and mailed it to you. You haven’t seen a single
one?”
Melody shook her head in confusion. “I’ve never received any letters from you.”
Landon was slightly taken aback.
He had assumed she was angry with him and probably wouldn’t read the letters. He thought that with time, she would eventually cool down. As long as he kept sending them, there would come a day when she would be willing to open them.
But he had never imagined that she had never received his letters at all.
Landon felt a bit disappointed, but now that Melody was standing right in front of him, the letters didn’t matter anymore. After all, actions are more convincing
han words.
It’s okay. Maybe I sent them to the wrong address.”
Melody, my feelings for you are real. In these past two years, there hasn’t been a single day that I’ve forgotten you. I was a complete bastard before, and I hurt you. Will you give me a chance to make it up to you?”
You haven’t been back in two years, you must be missing the food here. What do you want to eat? I’ll take you.”
Melody was a bit shocked that she was actually hearing words like “like” from his mouth.
Landon liked her? But how could that be possible?
wo years ago, she had loved him with everything she had, and he hadn’t been moved at all. And now he was telling her that he had actually liked her all along
Melody’s mind was in complete chaos. The defensive walls she had spent two years building around her heart crumbled effortlessly the moment she
encountered him.
t seemed she had still underestimated his influence on her.
Melody’s mind was a mess, as if she couldn’t think straight. She also felt the air in the lounge was suddenly stuffy.
he shook her head, trying to stop herself from thinking any further. She had no choice but to stand up and turn him down.
I forgot what happened two years ago, and you should too. We don’t need to get dinner. I’m leaving.”
With that, she stood up to leave, but because she moved too quickly, she felt dizzy and stumbled, almost falling. In the end, Landon’s quick reflexes caught her and pulled her into his arms.
Landon held her with a hint of longing and asked with concern, “Melody, are you okay? Are you feeling unwell?”
alling into this embrace again after so many years, enveloped by his scent once more, Melody felt a bit dazed.
The man beside her was too dangerous, setting off alarm bells in her mind. She wanted to get out of there quickly. She didn’t want to make the same mistake
gain.
Shaking her not-so-clear head, Melody pushed Landon away, tossed out an “I’m fine,” and quickly left the backstage lounge.
Melody jogged all the way out of the auditorium. It wasn’t until she felt the hot, humid summer wind that she finally let out a sigh of relief.
Although she had grown a lot in the past two years, enough to handle many unexpected situations, and had even received offers from several major companies Defore she even returned, in front of Landon, she still lacked confidence and always wanted to run.
Melody shook her head, forcing herself to stop thinking about this man who disturbed her peace of mind. She hailed a cab and left Northwood University.
