It happened for one simple reason. At the crucial moment, Anneliese’s stomach suddenly growled. Jonathan froze mid–movement, trying to pretend he didn’t hear it. His hand was still resting on her waist, but the next second, her stomach growled even louder.
The sound was so loud that he couldn’t ignore it even if he tried. Anneliese’s pretty face instantly turned red. Embarrassed and tense, she twisted her waist hard and bit him.
Jonathan almost lost it because of that. Caught off guard, he had to stop completely.
After getting himself together, he turned and saw her hiding under the blanket, wrapped up like a cocoon.
He lay down beside her, laughing, and started to pull the blanket away bit by bit.
The moment he pulled a little, Anneliese rolled to the other side and wrapped herself up again.
It was too embarrassing. She wanted to disappear.
Why did her stomach have to growl at that time? She didn’t even dare think about what kind of impression she had left on him now.
Sexy and charming? Not a chance.
She wanted to die from embarrassment.
“Baby, my bad. It’s all my fault. Let’s go eat, okay?”
Anneliese pulled the blanket tighter, curling up like a shy little burrito.
In Jonathan’s eyes, she couldn’t have been more adorable.
“Be good. I’m hungry too.”
The moment he said that, the blanket was yanked off, revealing her flushed face. Her eyes burned like fire as she glared at him.
“How dare you bring that up!”
“My bad. My stomach’s growling too. If you don’t believe me, listen-”
“Jonathan!” she shouted, completely furious and embarrassed. She grabbed a pillow and smacked him on
the head.
Ten minutes later, Jonathan walked out of the office alone.
Zion hurried over, surprised. “Mr. Fullbuster, what happened to you-”
“Going to the cafeteria,” Jonathan said as he headed for the elevator.
Zion blinked. “Mrs. Fullbuster isn’t coming with you? A lot of employees want to meet her.”
He had been hoping to see them together, showing off their love for everyone to see.

Jonathan cleared his throat. “My wife isn’t someone they can just see whenever they want. Who do they think they are?”
The truth was, Jonathan had laughed earlier, which made Anneliese even angrier. She refused to come out
now.
Zion could tell that even though Anneliese didn’t come out with him, Jonathan was clearly in a great mood.
They reached the cafeteria and ran into a few executives on their way out.
“Mr. Fullbuster, what brings you to the cafeteria today?” one of them asked curiously.
Jonathan nodded calmly. “My wife heard I was working late without eating, so she came to make sure I had dinner. I’m here to pack some food to eat with her.”
He finished speaking and didn’t bother with the shocked faces of the executives. He just walked away.
One of the executives grabbed Zion. “Mr. Fullbuster’s wife is here?”
“Yeah. Didn’t you see how anxious he was? He’s afraid his wife will go hungry.”
“Tsk, young couples are really in love. Should we go over and say hello to Mrs. Fullbuster later?”
“Better not. It’d be bad to interrupt their alone time. Right, Mr. Wayne?”
Jonathan already said it himself. His wife wasn’t someone anyone could just meet.
Zion waved his hand and followed after him. The executives exchanged looks.
“Mr. Fullbuster personally getting food for his wife? What a role model.”
“Never thought he was this kind of man before,
“They’re actually kind of sweet.”
Ever since Jonathan took over AeroAir, his strict and forceful style had scared everyone in management. They all thought he was intimidating.
But now, seeing this side of him made him seem more human. He was just a young man after all.
Without realizing it, they felt closer to him. Two of the executives even called their own wives later that afternoon, chatting about random things and leaving their confused spouses wondering what was going
- on.
By the end of the day, rumors spread across AcroAir’s staff chat group that Jonathan’s wife had visited his office, that Jonathan had personally gotten her lunch, and that the two had spent the morning together before he reluctantly sent her off to work.
According to a few secretaries who stayed in the office during lunch, she was young, beautiful, elegant, and gentle. Everyone said she was a perfect match for Jonathan.
Near the end of the workday, AeroAir’s system announced Selina’s attendance and performance record. She was an intern in the tech department.

She had taken seven and a half days off in the past two weeks and made two major data mistakes. With that attitude and performance, getting fired was only fair. It wasn’t because she had badmouthed Anneliese, and Jonathan used his position to retaliate.
