Sarah’s POV

I stared at Ethan, desperate hope clawing its way up my throat. “Can it be reversed? The memory spell?”
Ethan nodded slowly, his broad shoulders tense with the weight of the information he carried.
“The Pack Seer said it could be reversed, but only under specific conditions. It requires both your physical presence and something powerful enough to trigger the breakthrough.”
“Like what?” I asked, clutching the tissue in my hands so tightly it began to shred between my trembling
fingers.
“A powerful emotional catalyst,” he explained, his voice low and serious. “The Seer mentioned a true mate’s touch might be enough, or…”
He hesitated, conflict evident in his eyes, “experiencing intense emotions together–the kind that echo what you once shared.”
I laughed bitterly, the sound harsh even to my own ears.
“So I need to make him fall in love with me all over again, when he doesn’t even remember me? When he’s engaged to another she–wolf?”
“Luna Summer,” Ethan said firmly, using my real name rather than my assumed identity. “He broke off his engagement this morning.
“He may not remember you consciously, but the mate bond doesn’t simply disappear–that’s why he’s been drawn to you from the moment you met again.”
A soft knock interrupted us. “Mom?” Aria called through her bedroom door. “Can I come out now?”
Ethan’s eyes widened at the child’s voice, his nostrils flaring slightly as he caught her scent.
“Your daughter,” he whispered, realization dawning on his face. “She’s-”
“Yes,” I confirmed quietly. “She’s Alexander’s.”
Ethan ran a hand through his hair, looking momentarily overwhelmed.
“Goddess above,” he breathed. “Alexander has a daughter he doesn’t even know about.”
I said defensively. “I discovered I was pregnant after… after everything happened. By then, he was already engaged to someone else with no memory of me.”
The Beta’s expression softened. “I’m not judging you, Luna Summer. But this changes everything. You and your daughter need to come back to the pack–where you belong.”
I wrapped my arms around myself, suddenly feeling cold. “It’s not that simple, Ethan. We’ve built a life here.”
“Aria has no idea about her heritage, about what she truly is. And Alexander…” My voice broke.” He might never
remember me.”

“But what if he does?” Ethan pressed gently. “Don’t you want to give him the chance to know his daughter? To know you again?”
I closed my eyes, the pain of the past five years washing over me. “I need time to think about this. To figure out what’s best for Aria.”
Ethan nodded, respecting my boundaries. “Of course.”
He glanced at his watch. “I should get going. Alpha Alexander will be back soon, and he’s expecting a report.”
His eyes met mine. “What do you want me to tell him? He asked me to find out everything I could about you.’
I took a deep breath. “Just tell him what you found on paper. Sarah Winters, single mother, business consultant. As for anything from five years ago… use your discretion.”
Ethan hesitated, clearly torn between his loyalty to his Alpha and his desire to help me. “Summer…”
“Please, Ethan,” I whispered. “I need to handle this my way.”
After a long moment, he nodded. “Alright. But call me if you need anything–day or night.”
After showing him to the door, I returned to find Aria standing in the hallway, her curious eyes wide with excitement.
“Was that my dad?” she asked hopefully, her little hands fidgeting with the hem of her shirt.
My heart clenched painfully. “No, sweetheart. That was just someone I used to know.” Before I could explain further, my phone buzzed with an incoming call from an unknown number.
“Excuse me,” I said, stepping away to answer it. “Hello, who’s calling?”
“Sister!” a familiar voice chirped through the phone, immediately warming my heart despite my emotional
turmoil.
“Thea,” I said with genuine affection, recognizing Lyra’s young daughter instantly. “It’s your sister here.‘

“I know,” came the sweet, slightly nasal voice of the six–year–old. Even brilliant children couldn’t escape the adorable qualities of youth. “Thea misses you so much. Can I come play with you?”
I rubbed my nose, smiling despite everything. “Sure, sweetheart. Let me change clothes and I’ll come see you.‘
“No, no!” Thea suddenly exclaimed. “I want to come find you instead. Where are you staying? I can ask Jeremy to bring me over.”
After giving her my address and ending the call, I turned to Aria who was watching me curiously.
“A little friend is coming over to visit,” I explained, stroking her dark hair. “She’s about your age.
Aria’s face lit up with excitement. “Really? A new friend? What’s her name?”
“Her name is Thea,” I said, grateful for the distraction from my earlier conversation with Ethan. “She’s very sweet. I think you two will get along wonderfully.”

An hour later, I spotted Thea’s tiny figure approaching from down the sidewalk, her little pink backpack bouncing against her shoulders with each step.
I waved, calling out, “Thea! Over here, sweetie!”
The little girl looked up, and her face transformed with pure joy. She broke into a run, her small legs pumping as fast as they could carry her, pigtails flying behind her. “Sarah! Big sister!”
I crouched down, arms outstretched, and she launched herself into my embrace with such force that I nearly toppled backward.
I caught her small body, lifting her up as she nestled against me.
Thea rubbed her face against my shoulder, scenting me in that instinctive wolf–pup way that she probably wasn’t even aware she was doing.
“Big sister, Thea missed you sooooo much,” she murmured, her voice muffled against my sweater.
I stroked her silky hair, emotion catching in my throat. “I missed you too, honey. So, so much.”
She pulled back to look at me with those big, luminous eyes that seemed to take up half her face. “Am I your favorite little girl?” she asked hopefully, searching my expression with an earnestness that made my heart ache.
Before I could answer, another small voice piped up from behind me. “No, you’re not. I’m my mom’s favorite!”
I turned to see Aria standing there, arms crossed over her chest, her little chin jutting out defiantly.
“Aria!” I gently chided, feeling heat rise to my cheeks at my daughter’s blunt declaration.
Thea, far from being intimidated, wriggled out of my embrace and took a step toward Aria, studying her with newfound interest.
Her head tilted to one side, her expression suddenly becoming serious as she examined Aria’s features.
“You have Uncle Alex’s eyes,” she announced with the straightforward certainty only a child could muster. “Are you his daughter? You look just like him.”
