Chapter 50
ETHAN:
As soon as Ethan got to Noah, he went on his knees.
“Are you alright? You’re bleeding, I’ll take you back to your mom, okay?” he muttered but as he made to carry him, Noah’s vet great louder
thx before,
“Does it really hurt that bad?”
“You’re my Mommy’s friend aren’t you?” Noah asked, and Ethan instantly arched his brows in confusion,
“I am.”
“Then you must know who my Daddy is, don’t you?” Noah questioned, making Ethan more shocked. “What about Bryan?” He questioned inwardly until he felt a touch on his shoulder,
“You know who my Daddy is don’t you?” Noah questioned again, but this time, Ethan nodded his head, “What about your Mom? Don’t she give you all the love that you want?” Ethan responded as he stared down at Noah’s knee again. The part that had been injured.
“She does and I love my Mommy, but I wish I had a daddy like all the other kids. I envy them every day.”
“What month and day were you born Noah?” Ethan questioned, his eyes glinting with so much hope and expectations even though he wasn’t expecting Noah to know the date of when he was born,
Olivia had said Noah wasn’t his child, but deep down, Ethan had a feeling she was telling a lie. Not only was Noah very smart, but he had his nose and sense of humor just like Ethan did when he was a kid. Besides, he had a little resemblance to him,
To Ethan, he still found it hard to believe Olivia must have slept with someone so quickly after their break up.
When Noah’s silence became long enough, Ethan let out a deep sigh,
Once again, his eyes darted to the wound on Noah’s knees, and Ethan instantly took his tie off from his neck,
“This might stop you from bleeding. Hold on a little, it might sting you.” He muttered and carefully wrapped the tie around Noah’s injured
wounds.
“March 24, 2018.”
Noah’s answer suddenly made Ethan pause and he raised his gaze at Noah,
“What?”
“I told you, mister. Mommy said not to tell anyone or let it out to anyone, but you helped me mister, and…“He paused for a few seconds,
“You’re my only friend here.”
When Ethan snapped out of his thoughts, he smiled and nodded his head, “It’s time to go see your Mom. She must be super scared and worried. Don’t do it next time, buddy. Don’t/run away.”
“I wasn’t running away. I was just… doing what the adults do. What do they call it? Taking some fresh air.” Noah answered, and Ethan instantly gasped,
1/3
“Are you kidding me? A six–year–old isn’t an adult, Noah. You can’t run away, you’re too little for that?” Ethan responded, truly amazed by

Noah’s words,
“I’m not a kid; I’ll be a full–grown man like you one day.” He uttered,
“Alright Mr Noah, I’d like to take you to your mom now. Apologize first for getting her so worried, that’s important.” Ethan uttered walking towards the car with Noah on his back.
As soon as he tucked Noah into the car, he shut the door and ran towards the other side so he could get in.
The drive back to the hospital was about 12 minutes, and once Ethan halted the car, he stepped out of it,
“Let’s go, buddy, come on.”
Just like before, he carefully placed Noah behind his back and began to head towards the hospital.
Meanwhile, Olivia stood on a long bench close to the meeting room where she had earlier left Noah with red and swollen eyes. Her mind
kept on asking multiple questions about where her son was,
There couldn’t be someone who wanted to kidnap him, could they? “I shouldn’t have left him all by himself,” Olivia muttered to herself, trying as hard as possible not to think about anything stupid. She rubbed the tears on her face and cocked her head towards Ethan’s direction when she heard loud footsteps from her left side,
Olivia rose to her feet and made to run towards Ethan, but suddenly spotted a familiar shoe hanging on his abdomen,
“Noah? Baby?” She yelled out loud, rushing towards Noah, and when she spotted him at his back, she instantly broke down in tears
again,
“I was so worried. I was so worried about you, Noah; where did you go? How could you
She widened her eyes seeing the tie on his knee, and darted her gaze to Ethan,
“What happened to my son? How did he get hurt?”
make me so worried about you baby?”
“It’s a long story, Olivia. For now, focus on getting him treated as soon as possible. He’s in pain.”
Realizing that was the last question she needed to ask at the moment, Olivia nodded her head instantly, “Follow me, Ethan.” She uttered and began to head towards the nearest ward.
As Ethan gently placed Noah on a small bed, Olivia began taking off the tie that had been used to cover up the wound on his knees. She rose to her feet, got a first aid kit, and sat down close to Noah,
“Take a deep breath, baby; it’s going to sting, but you’re going to be alright, okay?” She uttered and began as soon as he nodded his head,
When Olivia finished, she took a deep long breath in and cocked her head towards the entrance only to realize that Bryan was gone.
He was there only about five minutes ago, but now he was gone. She rose to her feet instantly,
“Sit here and wait for me, baby; I need to find Mommy’s friend, okay.”
Noah nodded his head and instead watched his mother hurry out of the ward, but surprisingly, he let out a small smile, seeing his mother run after Ethan. It was a clear indication of how much Noah liked Ethan and was ready to start growing fond of him.
Olivia ran out of the hospital, but there was still no sign of Ethan anywhere. It was almost like he had vanished completely. She looked everywhere, but he was still nowhere insight. Gently, she dug her fingers into her hair and bit her lower lips in frustration as she murmured, “He was just behind me a few minutes ago; where is he now?”

Chapter 50
When Ethan was still nowhere to be found, she turned around to leave and head back into the ward, but suddenly heard Bryan’s voice
“Babe!”
Her gaze darted to the direction he was coming from. “Is he alright?”
“Yes, he’s fine, Bryan. My son is fine.”
Without uttering another word, Bryan pulled her into a tight hug, “Thank goodness! I was so worried about him. Come on, let’s go in, I need to see Noah for myself.” Bryan said as he took Olivia’s hand, but secretly, her gaze still kept searching desperately for Ethan. When Olivia still couldn’t find him anywhere, she decided to give up and head back into the ward.
First thing tomorrow morning, she would go to the company to see Ethan and thank him for helping her. At least he deserved it.
As soon as Ethan got out of the hospital, he got into the car that had brought him there and zoomed off immediately. Something was so worrying and he had to find it out no matter what.
Ethan couldn’t get the thought of what he had heard from Noah out of his head. The date of his birth kept ringing in his head over and over again. Noah was born just 3 months after Eva was born, and was that a coincidence?
Ethan quickly grabbed his phone from the pocket of his suit jacket and dialed Luke’s number,
He said, “Luke, I need you to find the hospital Olivia had gone to confirm her pregnancy seven years ago.”
But upon hearing him, Luke retorted, “What?”
As Ethan bit his lower lips, he added, “You heard me Luke, find out immediately. I need it in a few hours before I go crazy. Something just doesn’t seem right.”
The call ended after Ethan’s statement and his grip on the steering wheel tightened. Again, Ethan bit his lower lips, thinking desperately about Noah,
He murmured to himself, “March 24, 2018,”
Could his father be Bryan? He thought to himself but waved the thought out of his mind because even Noah was certain that Bryan wasn’t his father, and to Ethan, he could tell Noah didn’t like Bryan.
But then again, there was only one hospital Ethan thought Olivia could have gone to seven years ago, so he decided to give it a trial even without Luke’s confirmation.
He turned the car and immediately b
egan heading there. At this point, he was desperate to find out if Noah was truly his son or if Olivia was telling the truth.
