Chapter 151
Elara’s POV
I didn’t expect to see Dorian here. Not in this place..
This was the maid’s dormitory. Off–limits to men. Everyone knew that. The guards had their own rooms, far away from this one. Dorian shouldn’t even be able to walk through the door.
But there he was, strolling in like he owned the place. No one screamed. No one ran for cover. Instead, the maids practically squealed when they saw him.
“Dorian!”
One of the girls, a little more eager than the others, jumped to her feet and wrapped herself around his arm. “What are you doing here? You came to play poker, right?”
Before he could answer, two other maids rushed over, swatting the first girl’s hand away.
“Gill, you’re terrible at poker! Dorian, you can’t let her join us this time,” one said, her voice full of mock seriousness…
“Yeah, she’s a disaster! Come to my room, Dorian. I just got a bottle of Bourbon–your favourite,” the second one added, leaning in closer with a grin.
Gill flushed, her pride bruised. She snapped back, “That Bourbon you I got is the cheapest stuff they sell at the liquor store! Dorian, you don’t
drink that nonsense.”
She looked back at him, her eyes practically begging. “You said you liked playing poker with me, right? Tell them, Dorian. Tell them!”
I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
So, this was what happened every night, huh? Dorian popping in here, making all the girls go crazy. Some womanizer, apparently.
Just as the squabble started to turn into something more chaotic, Wendy cleared her throat, silencing the entire room with a sharp, almost dangerous look.
“What is going on here?” she demanded, her voice cold. “There’s a curfew. You all need rest for tomorrow. You’ve lost your minds!”
The maids lowered their heads in defeat, grumbling quietly to themselves.
But then Wendy turned to Dorian, her face suddenly softening into a smile. “But, if you’re here to kill time before bed… I can offer you a bottle
of wine in my room.”
I snorted, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Wendy’s head snapped toward me, her glare sharp enough to cut glass. “What’s so funny?” she spat.
I shrugged, feigning innocence. “I just find it funny. You’re all about keeping things proper, but when it’s you, it’s okay. I’m just laughing at the
double standard.”
Wendy’s cheeks flushed a deep red, her anger rising.
“I’m the supervisor!” she snapped, trying to regain control. “I have serious matters to discuss with Dorian.”
“What serious matters? Like when I get a real room with a real bed?”

Chapter 151
Her face twisted in rage, but before she could retort, Dorian raised a hand, cutting through the tension like a knife.
“Wendy, I appreciate your offer, but I’m not here to chat or play poker.”
She looked almost disappointed, though she quickly masked it with a pout. “But…”
“Not tonight,” Dorian said firmly. “I’m here to check on someone.”
The room went silent. All the maids leaned forward in unison, eyes wide with curiosity.
“Who?” Gill asked, her voice almost a whisper, “Is it me?”
Dorian’s gaze swept across the room and settled on me. “Elara, how are you doing tonight?”
The collective gasp was almost deafening.
“You’re here for her?” Gill spat, her tone full of venom. “How do you even know her?”
Dorian didn’t answer, still fixated on me. “I heard there’s an issue with your room. Something about you not having one at all?”
I shot a quick look at Wendy. She looked… nervous.
“All I have is a closet with a rag thrown on the floor,” I said, voice steady but sharp. “Maybe you should ask the supervisor about that.”
Dorian’s eyes turned to Wendy, his expression icy. “Wendy?”
Her breathing hitched. “It’s just temporary,” she muttered, barely audible. “We don’t have any extra rooms. All dorms are full.”
“So when can I get a room?” Dorian pressed.
Wendy let out a nervous laugh. “Soon. I’ll… I’ll see what I can do.”
But I knew. “Soon” meant “never.”
Dorian nodded like he understood exactly what was going on. “Okay. I have a simple solution.”
I tilted my head, waiting.
And just when I thought he was going to push Wendy into finding me a room, he surprised me.
“Until Elara gets her own room, she stays with me.”
The room froze.
“WHAT?!” Gill exclaimed.
“NO!” Wendy cried out, her voice almost hysterical.
I stared at Dorian in shock. Was he crazy?
Dorian, however, seemed completely unfazed. “I don’t see the issue. Elara doesn’t have a room. I’m inviting her to stay with me. Is there a problem?”
“You can’t do that! Maids aren’t allowed in the guard’s rooms!” Wendy protested, her face turning pale. “And you only have one bed… Are you giving it to her? Or are you–are you sharing the bed?”

Chapter 151
Dorian chuckled, low and confident. “I believe the rules can be bent. As for the bed, Elara and I will figure that out.”
He turned to me, his eyes gleaming with amusement. “What do you say?”
I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. Wendy was practically seething, but I wasn’t about to let her have the last word.
“Sure,” I said, my voice crisp. “That works.”
Wendy’s face went redder than I thought possible. “No!” she snapped, her frustration spilling over. “You can’t! If you leave, I’ll report this to the masters-”
Dorian didn’t even flinch. He turned his gaze back to Wendy, his eyes as cold as ice. “Why bother the masters with this? Don’t you agree,
Wendy?”
Wendy shrank back under his gaze, and after a moment, she mumbled a soft “yes.”
Dorian gave her a polite smile, then turned to me. “Good. I’m glad we’re on the same page.”
He offered me his arm, leading me away from the chaos of the dorm.
As we reached the stairs, I pulled away from him, turning to face him with a cool smile.
“Thanks,” I said, my tone distant. “But I can just crash on a bench somewhere, You don’t need to take me to your room.”
Dorian chuckled softly. “Are you already dumping me? How cruel.”
His voice, low and husky, sent a shiver down my spine.
1 quickly turned my head, trying to shake off the feelings he was stirring in me. “Why are you here tonight?”
“I heard your crazy ex finally let you out of his room, so I figured I should check on you. Looks like I came at the right time.”
I didn’t say anything. Just stared into the distance.
“Come on, stay with me for the night,” Dorian coaxed, his tone gentle but persuasive. “The guards are patrolling. If you sleep on a bench, they’ll catch you, and it’ll cause trouble. You don’t want that.”/
I sighed, knowing he was right.
“Fine,” I muttered. “Where’s your room?”
Dorian’s room wasn’t in the basement, but on the third floor. It was cozy, not as extravagant as Kimberly’s, but it had its own bathroom and plenty of space.
Dorian turned on the light and smiled at me. “Make yourself comfortable. Want to shower?”
“No, I’m good,” I said, plopping down on the couch.
Dorian chuckled and pulled off his shirt, heading to the bathroom.
I looked around. His room was tidier than I expected. No laundry on the floor, no clutter. Everything was in order.
There was only one bed, and I couldn’t help but feel a little… anxious about that.
I tried to push the thought away.

Chapter 151
I sat on the couch, waiting for him to finish.
When Dorian came out of the bathroom, his hair was damp, dripping with water, making him look even more irresistible.
His bare chest, still glistening from the shower, made it hard to focus on anything else.
He smirked as he saw me staring. “Why are you sitting on the couch?” he asked, drying his hair.
“There’s only one bed,” I pointed out.
He raised an eyebrow. “And?”
“I’ll take the couch,” I shrugged, trying to hide my nervousness.
Dorian chuckled softly, walking toward me. He leaned down, resting his hands on the back of the couch.
“There’s only one bed. We’re mates. And I’m crazy about you.”
His gaze locked with mine, bright eyes piercing into me.
“You see where I’m going with this?”
