Fiona was even worse off than she was before.

Jordan said to Stella, “With people around, the Clark family would be nice to Fiona. But as soon as no one’s watching, they would just boss
her around and make her do all the chores.

“Fiona has to put up with it if she wants to stay.”
Looking amused, Stella asked, “Didn’t she give the Clark family so much money? Why did they still not give a damn about her?”
“Yeah, the Clark family never saw her as family. She told the media that she gave them all that money of her own accord, and the Clark family
never asked her for a dime,” said Jordan.
Stella pursed her lips and said, “Yeah, the Clark family took themselves way too seriously. After everything Fiona had done for them, they treated her like this. I wonder what’s going through her head now.”
Jordan shrugged and said, “Whatever. Since the Clark family disliked her, let her stay there and be tortured.”
“Andrew is filing for divorce, but Fiona is fighting it tooth and nail. She refused to show up in court,” said Stella.
“Good. Just wait. Let them tear each other apart,” said Jordan.
Stella wasn’t a ruthless person, but they pushed her over the edge, making her fight back.
“Forget about them. How about we go on a date?” suggested Jordan. Ever since Stella agreed to give them a shot, Jordan had not been hanging around the office all his free time. He just wanted to see her more.
“Where are we going?” asked Stella.

“I’ll take you somewhere special,” Jordan said, looking mysterious.
It intrigued Stella.
Jordan took her to an international club, a place that had everything one could think of. Only wealthy people could get in.
“My buddies want to see you,” Jordan said.
Stella knew Jordan had some friends from other circles, but she had never met them before.
She knew he brought her to his friends because he appreciated her.
When they arrived, everyone was already there. Some brought their girlfriends, while others had their wives with them.
Jordan introduced Stella to each of them.
Stella shook hands with everyone and greeted them warmly.
But when it came to a woman, Stella could immediately sense that this woman didn’t like her.
Joan sized Stella up and didn’t even bother to hide her disregard for Stella.
Stella wasn’t the type to throw herself at someone who shut her down. Stella didn’t offer her hand.
Everyone saw what happened. Someone tugged at Joan’s sleeve, but Joan ignored it.
She stared straight at Jordan and asked, “So, this is the woman you’re planning to marry?”
Jordan took Stella into his arms and said, “So what? She’s great to me. I love her, and I want to marry her. Is there a problem with that?”
“She was taken by the abductors. No one knows if she was violated during that time. And what followed-”
Before Joan could finish, Jordan cut her off. “Joan, watch your mouth. I didn’t invite you here today. If you don’t want to stay, just leave. No one wants you here,” said Jordan fiercely.
The one who was still tugging at Joan’s sleeve signaled her to stop talking.
But Joan just had this defiant look on her face.
“Come on, let’s go. Just ignore her,” said Jordan, leading Stella to the other side.
Stella really paid Joan no mind. Her experience had taught her that if you liked someone, you could spend more time with them, but if you didn’t, there was no need to waste that time.
Jordan’s other buddies and their companions were all nice to Stella. Stella knew they were true to her.
She was more willing to spend time with them.
Unable to watch it anymore, Joan walked over to Jordan and said, “Jordan, let’s talk.”
Jordan didn’t move. He just sat there, feeding Stella snacks.
“I have nothing to say to you,” he said coldly.
“Jordan!” Joan snapped, her voice sharp with anger.

One of Jordan’s buddies quickly good up, pulled Joan aside, and told her to calm down.
But Joan was determined to do something
That guy snapped, “What are you doing? We’re all here to have fun, and you have to ruin it?”
“Yeah, but don’t forget, she-” Joan tried to argue.
“Shut up,” That guy snapped, cutting her off right away.
Fuming, Joan turned on her heel and stormed out.
The guy turned to Stella and said, “Don’t worry about her. Just enjoy yourself.”
Stella leaned in and whispered to Jordan, “Is she your first love?”
“My first love is you. She has nothing to do with it,” Jordan replied firmly.
“Are you sure?” Stella couldn’t help laughing.
“I’m sure,” Jordan said quickly.
One guy next to them chimed in, “I can vouch for Jordan. He told us ages ago he was crushing on someone. He thought it was weird, since he never imagined he’d fall for someone he had known online. But he did fall in love with you.
“We’re so happy you two went from online to real life. So, when’s the wedding? We’re gonna be there, no matter what.”
Others chorused their agreement.
Stella stared at Jordan in shock. “Wait, are you saying you already liked me back when we were chatting online?” she asked.
Jordan was hesitant to bring it up. He was afraid of freaking Stella out.
But now that she’d already agreed to give them a shot, and since it wasn’t him who said it out loud, he figured she wouldn’t get intimidated.
