Chapter 84 Amalie

By the time the twins tell me it’s time to go, I have already kicked off my shoes and my hair is out of the hair do Vickie did. I put my rose behind my ear to keep it safe. I plan on adding it to my vase of flowers when we get home

Vickie is slightly tipsy and giggly as Jimmy starts to lead her away.

“Wait?” Vickie shouts before Jimmy is able to drag her away. “Wait! Ama, you are the most amazing person! We should get brunch tomorrow!”

I smile and nod my head as 1 fight back a yawn.

Vickie seems pleased and lets Jimmy drag her out of the pack hall. She is still giggling and talking nonsense, but. she is happy. I catch a glimpse of her mate picking her up to carry her home. I have a feeling that they will get home much faster this way.

“Ready love?” Cal asks me as I am still sitting on the floor that Vickie and I had claimed as our spot. Rose is snuggled into my lap asleep. We had camped out on the floor drinking and eating.

Gretchen and her mate, Robert, had left a little while ago after more hugs and congratulations. Uncle Mike and Will had headed home over an hour ago so that way they could relax some before we got home. AKA, they wanted alone time without a toddler poking around or us. Nick had spent majority of the party making googoo eyes with a girl his own age, I am willing to bet that she is his mate. James is laughing loudly as he hangs off Sam. James is almost wasted if Sam’s grumbles are anything to go by.

1 smile to myself. It was a nice night. Even if there were a few glares thrown my way. But a few growls from me and those around me kept the malcontents away, I refused to drink any form of alcohol. I had enough experience with the stuff from Thomas. I did not need to drink any of it for myself.

Vickie and a few of the others when they had started to show signs of being tipsy, I nearly had a panic attack. Vickie sobered up and asked if I would like her to stop drinking. I breathed threw my panic and reminded myself that my mates were here. I reminded myself that they would not let anyone lay a hand on me.

Mark came by our little group and placed Rose in my lap. He placed a kiss on my forehead and said that, “Cal and I are not drinking tonight.” Those few words sent waves of comfort through me.

Vickie slowed down on how much she was drinking but continued to drink. Gretchen and Robert ran interference to keep the rowdy drunks away.

Now a few hours later, Cal was picking Rose up as she was asleep. Mark then assists me up from the floor. Before I could put my shoes back on, Mark swept me up into his arms and starts to carry me back home.

I start to doze off as Mark carries me home. I’m fast asleep by the time we make it home.

“Darling, you need to wake up,” Mark tells me as he shakes me softly as he sets me on the bed.

“Tired,” I mumble and snug down into the bed.

Chapter 84 Amalie

“Let’s get you undressed,” Mark says.

1 crack one eye open and look at Mark. “Rosebud?” I ask.

Mark laughs slightly before stating, “Cal is putting her to bed. But we need to get you to bed.” He gently sets me

up.

I make a sound of protest. I just want to sleep. Today has been exhausting.

He laughs again as he unzips my dress. As it slides from my frame, he slips on my nightgown. He then pulls the dress away and then the gown down. I fall limply back onto the bed. I cover my head up and try to go to sleep.

Mark laughs as he comes back. “Darling, we need to take off your makeup,” he tells me.

“No, sleep first, makeup later,” I sigh as tune him out.

Mark uncovers my head, and I let out a groan that borders on a hiss. He then takes a warm washcloth to my face. Mark gently removes my makeup. Once done, he covers up my head.

I sigh in contentment that I finally have peace. But my peace is short lived as I feel cold without my mates. I groggily sit up and look around. I’m about to get out of bed when the twins appear in my doorway.
