Chapter 369

To let Lydia know she was planning to update her account, Emily deliberately took out her drawing paper at the office.

As expected, as soon as she brought it out, Yara came over and asked, “Ms. Harper, what are you up to?”

Yara was usually the closest to Lydia. She was also the one who helped Lydia steal Emily’s phone last time.

Emily acted like she didn’t notice the glint in Yara’s eyes at all. While unpacking her paintbrushes, she said, “I haven’t painted in ages. My hands are itching to get back to it.”

Everyone knew Emily had a background in painting, so Yara didn’t suspect a thing. She even leaned in and asked, “I’ve never actually seen you paint before, Ms. Harper. What are you planning to draw?”

Emily pretended to think for a moment and then said, “I think I’ll draw a raccoon. I came across a bunch of raccoon videos online lately-they’re pretty cute.”

Yara didn’t expect Emily to be so cooperative in answering her question.

Usually, Emily always seemed cold and distant to everyone. Except for work-related matters, few team members would take the initiative to speak with her.

Yara had thought that if she approached Emily, she would just be met with a cold attitude.

Yara was only there to snoop on Emily for Lydia. She wasn’t interested in Emily’s painting, so she just chatted casually.

Emily played along, answering every question and even volunteering information Yara hadn’t even asked about. For example, she mentioned that she wanted to try out for the open recruitment at Cloudland Winery. But in reality, she had no intention of going.

Tato’s usual work on the account was completely different from the comic style. If she started drawing comics, it’d be a huge change and would get people talking.

With Cloudland Winery being such a hot topic, all eyes would be on Lydia even more.

Yara had gathered plenty of information and was eager to report back to Lydia, so she made up an excuse and left in a hurry.

What she didn’t realize was that, the moment she turned around, Emily looked up and shot an unreadable glance at her back.

To make her story more convincing, Emily started sketching right there in the office. The outline of a raccoon began to take shape on her paper.

Not long after, Emily’s phone suddenly buzzed. It was a message from Austin.

Austin sent over two photos-Lydia’s latest posts on her social media.

One of them was a super popular, cute raccoon, with the caption: [I’ve fallen for these adorable raccoons lately. Kinda want to try drawing one.]

Within minutes of the post going up, there were tons of likes and comments like: [Finally, an update.]

Lydia picked a few comments to reply to, dropping obvious hints that Tato’s next update was going to be raccoon-themed.

The other post was a picture of the hiring information for Cloudland Winery. The caption read: [Life is all about challenging yourself.]

As expected, there were even more likes and comments. Plenty of people were gassing Lydia up in the comments, labeling her a genius.

Lydia acted all modest, but she replied to every single comment.

Seeing all this, Emily curved her lips in a knowing smile. She put her phone away and gathered up her drawing paper. The fish had already taken the bait.

She had plenty of formal work to attend to and couldn’t afford to waste any more time here.

Even though the team’s vibe was getting less and less professional thanks to Lydia’s involvement, the project itself was still making steady progress.

As one of the few people in the team who took work seriously, Emily had her hands full.
