Chapter 403

But his words died in his throat as he caught sight of Lila. He just stood there, stunned, staring at her. “Lila?” Lila’s expression instantly went cold.

But Andrew didn’t notice a thing. He practically lunged toward her, overjoyed, like he’d just found a long-lost treasure. “Lila, you’re alive. This is awesome, I-”

Before he could get any closer, Lila’s assistant stepped in and blocked his way. “Mr. Bennett, please control yourself.”

Only then did Andrew snap out of his shock and excitement over seeing his lost love alive. He glanced at Lila, then at Emily, and suddenly it all clicked for him.

He let out a sigh and turned to Lila. “Lila, do you have any idea how devastated I was when I heard you were gone? Thank God you’re okay.

“I know you’ve always doted on Emily, but you really shouldn’t have teamed up with her to concoct such a lie and deceive us for all these years. This time, you really went too far.”

Lila, who had been about to walk out, actually let out a laugh. “Andrew, I’ve honestly wanted to say this for ages. You are seriously the most self-absorbed person I’ve ever met.”

Back when she was in love with him, with her feelings clouding her judgment, she always thought Andrew was clever, wise, and decisive.

But now that the love goggles were off, she finally saw the truth. He was just a pompous fool who loved nothing more than his own opinions.

Andrew had never imagined Lila would confront him with that kind of attitude. He was left completely stunned, frozen on the spot.

Then, as if something suddenly clicked for him, he shot a look at Emily and blurted out. “Lila, did Emily put something in your head? She’s always lying. You can’t believe a thing that comes out of her mouth. You—”

Lila’s frown deepened, her impatience written all over her face. Emily caught that right away and cut in. “Mr. Bennett, you really think Lydia’s your real sister, and she’s just this sweet, innocent angel, don’t you?”

Andrew’s

eyes narrowed, clearly unhappy she’d cut in and dared to question Lydia. But Emily didn’t care at all. She just pulled out her phone, brought up a video, and said, “Since you’re here, Mr. Bennett, why not check out this video first?”

The video, of course, was the one Cale had given her. The video was so shocking that even Andrew couldn’t hide his disbelief. For a moment, he completely forgot about the fact that Lila had just come back.

“This is impossible.” Andrew shot Emily a glare. “If you want to frame Lydia, at least come up with something that actually makes sense. This is just absurd.”

Emily had expected this reaction from him. The Bennetts were so deep under Lydia’s spell that even if she threw the video in their faces, they still wouldn’t trust her. That’s exactly why she hadn’t bothered showing it from the very beginning.

“If you don’t believe me, Mr. Bennett, how about we make a bet?” Emily’s gaze was piercing, like she could see right through

him.

“If I can prove this video is real, then you’ll voluntarily transfer 10% of your shares in Bennett Group to me, and you’ll promise never to show up in front of Lila ever again.”

The stuff in the video was just insane. Andrew was dead sure there was no way it could be real.

With Lila backing her up, it didn’t take much to get Andrew to agree. And to make sure he couldn’t weasel out of it later, Emily called in a lawyer right then and there to draft up a contract.

Opportunities to make Andrew lose his head and put his shares on the line didn’t come around often, so there was no way Emily was letting this one slip by.

The very next day, she used the excuse that I’ve got Cale’ to arrange a private meeting with Lydia.
