Olivia had to act like she was ignorant about everything Bryan had been up to and still snoop around, just in case she could find something that would lead her closer to the truth
Every time she had thought she was close to something, it was nothing substantial
At some point, she had begun to think that the stress of work was getting to her and she was just imagining things up
But that was until she overheard Bryan and Derek’s conversation in Bryan’s office two days ago
She had decided to surprise Bryan at his office; her inability to act like everything was fine had made Bryan start questioning her recent behavior, so she had thought that it would be a good way to find out something about him.
He would not be expecting her, so he might have left something out in the open

After telling the Secretary that she wanted to surprise him and that her presence should not be announced, she walked towards the
office door
That was when she heard voices, Bryan was not alone inside there. It seemed that he was with someone
“Does my fianceé have a visitor?” Olivia asked the secretary
“Yes, Mr. Derek is in there”
“Ohh Derek” she muttered with a fond time
“That is good, I get to surprise them both then” She opened the door leading to the office and the conference room
The office was built in such a way that there was a door that led to an area where Bryan had very important and private meetings, there was one that led to the conference room and there was another that led directly to his office
Olivia leaned against the door trying to eavesdrop on their conversation
“What is the deal with the Ethan situation?” Derek asked Bryan who was leaning back on his chair, the chair facing the view from
his windows
The office was located in a very tall building, almost thirty floors, which was the third–tallest corporate building
Ranking third, giving place to Ethan’s two office buildings, one was a hundred floors, and the other sixty floors
It irked Bryan to no end that he ranked second best in comparison to Ethan
“There is nothing there. I am handling it”
“I never took you for someone to do sloppy work. You were on a thin line there, he would have landed that project instead of you”
Derek continued
“That would never happen, I handled it at the end, didn’t I?” Bryan muttered

“You were in luck, that is what happened man, luck” Derek returned
“Have you found anything on the 70% partner of the Dr Bio project?” Bryan asked, trying to act like Derek had not just tried blaming him,
“No, the only name listed down for that corporation is Mr John Kim”
“Who is that?”

“He is a famous Korean investor in the medical field who has developed many groundbreaking innovations in that field. He also invests in real estate and oil companies. Indeed he is a large name in the business”
Derek pushed a file containing all the information toward Bryan who spun his chair back to face the table
Thumbing through the files, Bryan read article after article about John Kim. He was indeed a very influential man in the business
“What is his record like?” Bryan asked, not bothering to look up from the file he was reading
“He is actually a decent human being, I could not find anything of value about him that we could use”
Olivia stilled at the door as she continued listening. They had planned to blackmail John into giving them the project
It was good that she had made the call to not sign the title transfer documents yet
While the title of the corporation was in John’s name, he was just the nominal owner but he could not make any decisions without her consent or her signature to approve it
So no matter what they dig up on him or what they find to use and blackmail him, his signature was meaningless. She could only hope that he would not be put in a spot where hiding her identity would cost him his life
“There is no possible way that there’s nothing on this other partner. Is he a ghost or something? There has to be something; keep looking. We are missing something here” Bryan said
“Bryan, I have searched everything I could. I even hired the services of a Private Investigator, but I did not find anything. And I reckon that we are not the only ones searching for this person, all the corporations that were present at that conference are searching and even those that were absent heard the news and began searching to lobby for the man’s support”
Olivia scrunched her nose. These men were so sexist and full of themselves that they automatically assumed the person to be a
man
“Tch” She scoffed loudly
“Who is there?” Bryan called out
“Shit!” Olivia murmured under her breath, her hands in her mouth, and then finally straightened her back, entering the room
“Hey” She uttered with a smile as she walked around the table over to Bryan
“Olivia, what are you doing here?” Bryan asked in shock
“I thought we could have lunch together, it has been a while” Olivia responded with a sweet smile
“Hello Derek, it’s been a while”

“AHH yes, I have just been really busy these days. You know how Bryan likes to bend me over till I am aching from working.” He teased, and with anger still coursing through her veins, Olivia giggled in return.

Olivia sat across from Bryan in the restaurant with a smile on her face
Her cheek hurt from all the forced smiles that she had to do these days
“I am surprised that you made time to do this. You have been acting odd these days, keeping late nights, being jumpy, and all. Is everything alright?” Bryan asked Olivia, his eyes searching hers for something
She coughed and grabbed her glass of water
“Sorry, it went wrong. Work has just been so stressful; the hospital has been really busy, which is why. It is nothing to get concerned over, really!” she explained
“Are you sure? It seems that you are hiding something from me. I can’t place my finger on it but you are different. Is anything the matter? Did you discover something?” Bryan asked, fishing to find out if she had found out about him
Olivia, realising this, smiled at him. “Discovered something? What on earth would I be discovering, are you hiding anything from me? I mean are you secretly a killer or something?” She asked and then laughed afterward
She noticed Bryan’s knuckles turn white holding his cutlery too hard
“What?!” He asked
Relax, I am just joking”
Bryan looked at Olivia, trying to decipher if there was any truth to what she said, did she know anything
Meanwhile, Olivia acted oblivious to Bryan’s stares, eating her chicken sandwich slowly. She had caught him, his reaction proved that he had a hand in Ethan’s father’s death.
All she needed to do was find the evidence
“Let’s get married,” Bryan said suddenly sending Olivia into a coughing fit and she immediately downed the entire contents of her glass
“What do you mean?”
“I feel that things are different between us and we have gone distant, let’s set a date for our wedding”
“But..” Olivia began
“Are you hiding anything from me? Is there a reason why you don’t want us to get married?”
“No…no, that’s not it” Olivia retorted in alarm
“Then let us get married, if that is true”
