Devin yelled out.

‘Crap! Even I might not make it out of this in one piece. Frank’s probably about to get roughed up. But the guys holding me back are tough as nails. I just can’t break through right now, Devin thought.
Joel’s eyes narrowed, and his energy exploded. He grabbed the killer who was coming at him head- on, swung him hard, and knocked down both men in front of him. At that very moment, another killer’s fist was already closing in on the back of his head.
He ducked low with lightning speed, the fist grazing right past his head. In the next instant, he stepped back with his right leg, grounded himself, turned his open palm into a fist, and launched a punch.
His fist smashed straight into the killer’s face. The killer’s mind went blank, and he crashed backward like a felled tree.
‘Is that… the Overlord Blow?‘ Devin thought.
He stared in disbelief at the incredible scene. ‘Isn’t the Overlord Blow Joel’s signature move?‘
Joel was completely fired up then. He rolled his neck, stretched his arms, and curled his fingers at the remaining killers in a taunting gesture, daring them to come at him.
Devin’s eyes widened again. Just recently, he’d watched the International Boxing Competition. Before the semifinals, Joel’s opponent had insulted Wustriland, and Joel, as one of Wustriland’s own, had taunted his opponent right back during the match.
The attitude, the energy, the presence–it was exactly the same as Frank standing before him!
Before Devin could even finish being shocked, Joel mowed down the rest of the killers like a force of nature. None of the seriously injured killers could even get back up.
Devin stood there with his mouth hanging open, staring at Joel in utter disbelief.
Joel was grinning ear to ear. It had been ages since he’d had such a thrilling fight.
When he turned around and caught sight of Devin’s stunned expression, he thought to himself, ‘Crap, I got way too into it and let loose for real. Did Devin notice something?”
“What’s wrong with you?” Joel asked as he walked over to Devin.
Devin snapped out of shock. “Did you, did you just use the Overlord Blow?”
‘Of course, he recognized it, Joel thought to himself.

Joel put on a goofy grin. “Hey, didn’t you already know I’m a huge Joel fan? I’ve watched all his matches, so I just picked up a thing or two.”
“That’s his signature move! Nobody else can pull it off! Even I can’t do it right!” Devin blurted out.
Devin wasn’t exaggerating. Joel’s signature move was something only he could unleash to its full power. No matter how well others tried to imitate it, it just never packed the same punch.
“Honestly, this move isn’t all that hard. Maybe it just happens to suit me,” Joel said, keeping his cool.
Devin mulled over Joel’s words and had to admit it kind of made sense.
Maybe this move really did suit him.
Even though he still felt like something was off, he couldn’t come up with any other explanation.
‘Could Frank be Joel? But they don’t even look alike! Is he wearing some kind of disguise?‘ Devin wondered.
‘But what’s in it for him? Why would the King of Boxing go undercover as a bodyguard for the Moreno family? Who on earth would believe that?‘ he thought.
Besides, Joel is Dr. Bennett’s bodyguard!‘ Devin reminded himself.
Joel had been watching Devin’s reaction closely, and from the look on his face, it seemed like he was starting to believe it.
“Come on, let’s go grab some beer,” Joel said.
Devin mumbled an “oh,” and followed Joel, glancing at his face, which looked as normal as ever, and thinking to himself that he really was just being paranoid.
The car stopped at the red light, and Kaia turned to look at Tobias.
“There’s a pier ahead. Wanna go check it out together?” she asked.
Tobias looked genuinely surprised for a moment, then nodded. “Yeah, sure.”
The car pulled over to the side, and the two of them strolled side by side along the seaside pier. The evening breeze, tinged with the salty chill of the ocean, brushed against them and made the air feel
even colder.
Tobias shrugged off his suit jacket and offered it to Kaia.
“It’s a bit cold. Here, wear this,” he said gently.
“I’m really not that cold. You should keep it on,” Kaia protested.
But before she could finish, Tobias had already draped the jacket over her shoulders, not taking no

The jacket still carried his warmth, and as it wrapped around her, it didn’t just chase away the chill. It made her heart, usually so calm, start to pick up some of his warmth too.
“Thanks for what you did back there in the banquet hall. But you really shouldn’t have said that. This was supposed to be my problem, not yours. People might misunderstand you and think you’re really with me,” Kaia said, her voice soft but a little conflicted.
Tobias curved his lips in a teasing, doting smile, his eyes spoiling her as he looked at Kaia. “Let them think whatever they want.”
“You really don’t mind?” Kaia raised an eyebrow.
“What’s there to mind? Honestly, I kinda like it,” Tobias replied, sounding laid–back but with something warm in his voice.
‘Wait, what?‘ Kaia’s eyes widened as she stared hard at Tobias, her sharp mind instantly picking up on the meaning behind his words.
After a brief silence, she asked, “Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for me?”
She’d asked him this before, and he’d always denied it.
“Yeah,” Tobias said, nodding.
Kaia blinked, caught off guard by how casually he said it. She couldn’t tell if he was joking or being
serious.
Just as she was trying to figure it out, Tobias suddenly leaned down and gently brushed his lips against her forehead.
Kaia was stunned, unable to believe what just happened. She snapped her head up to look at him.
Tobias’s lips curled into a soft smile as he met her
eyes.
After a few seconds, Kaia abruptly stepped back, putting some distance between them.
“Are you serious? Or are you just messing with me?” she asked, her voice a little shaky.
Seeing her guard completely down and looking all flustered, Tobias was both wildly amused and totally smitten. He just couldn’t help himself and decided to mess with her a bit.
He smiled. “Guess.”
Kaia gave him a huge eye roll and just turned around to walk off.
“Hey, are you mad?” Tobias called after her.

Kaia said nothing in response.
“Sorry, I shouldn’t have teased you,” Tobias said, trying to sound sincere.

Kaia still ignored him, not even glancing back as she walked past the parked car. She decided to hail
a taxi and head home.
Seeing Kaia about to flag down a taxi, Tobias quickly caught her hand, pulled her over, and brought her close, placing his hands on her shoulders. Looking her straight in the eye, he said seriously, “I’m serious. As for just how much I mean it… There are only eight days and twenty–two hours left until our engagement is up. You’ll know by then.”
Kaia studied Tobias intently, searching his face for answers, but she couldn’t figure him out at all.
She said, “You’re being so cryptic.”
Tobias saw she wasn’t mad anymore and gave her a gentle smile. “Come on, let’s go home.”
Once they got back to the villa, Tobias went straight to find Devin.
‘Did you get everything I asked for done?” he asked.
“The ring you ordered is being rushed and will arrive before the engagement is up. As for the venue setup, that’s all taken care of too,” Devin replied.
‘Alright, good. You can go now,” Tobias said, barely able to contain his excitement for what he was about to do something that Kaia would remember for the rest of her life.
A few seconds later, Tobias noticed Devin still standing there.
‘Anything else?” Tobias asked.
Devin couldn’t hold it in any longer and brought up Joel.
‘Boss, Frank is no ordinary guy,” he said.
