Chapter 5
As soon as Ethan Fordham dashed out of the room, he headed straight for the elevator, and when the door closed, his fingers dug into his hair in frustration.

When the elevator door opened, he rushed out of it, but almost bumped in on a young lady wearing the hotel’s uniform,
“I’m so sorry sir,” she muttered in a low voice raising her gaze down, but he simply ignored her and continued to run. One thought was all over his mind, and that was Olivia. How could she leave just like that, especially because he didn’t know where she was.
Ethan did want her to leave, but not to someplace where he didn’t know and that was the reason he had offered her a house in the first place. Never did it cross to him that Olivia had somewhere else to go that wasn’t his house,
After all, he knew about her past, and he knew that she would never return to her family home.
His phone binged again, and before she stepped into the car, he answered the call,
“Luke, what’s wrong? Did you find Olivia?‘
“No, sir, but there’s something else.”
The look of frustration in his eyes only worsened. What the hell could be more important than finding his wife or rather, now ex wife?
“What the hell is it again? What’s so important, Luke?”
“It’s your father, he’s at the hospital.”
The car suddenly came to an abrupt stop when Ethan heard this news, and for a minute, he was silent just like in the bathroom with his mind trying so hard to process what he had just heard,
“What did you just say?”
“Your father is in the hospital and it’s really urgent, sir. He requested Mrs Fordham’s presence a while ago. What should I do sir?”
Ethan didn’t respond simply because he needed a minute all to himself to think. The alert didn’t state Olivia’s destination so he had no idea where she was going.
He ignited the engine of the car once again, and turned around, heading to the hospital so he could see his father first. 30 minutes later, Ethan halted the car and rushed out of it.
He found Luke waiting at the entrance of room 401. A VIP room where he had been told his father was receiving treatment,
“Luke, how’s he?”
“He’s asleep now, but he has been asking for Ms Fordham since he woke up earlier.” Luke responded and Ethan heaved deeply,
“What did you tell him?”
“I told him she’s on a business trip for now, sir”
Ethan nodded his head, “Good I’ll stay here to keep an eye on him Hurry to the airport immediately and make sure you find anything about my wife’s whereabouts”

Chapter 3
Once again, Ethan had made that mistake in his statement by calling Olivia his wife, but failed to realize it. If he cared about her this much, then why let her go in the first place? Luke thought as he was given the order and nodded his head.
He began to walk away, heading towards the car parked outside and once he got in, he drove away.
Ethan took a deep breath in before his hand touched the door knob and opened the door. As he stepped in, his heart broke seeing his father in that condition. He had always hated his father for making a choice of marrying Olivia when Ethan had made it clear that he loved Shirley instead.
He sat close to his father’s bed, and gently took his hand but didn’t say a word,
So many thoughts ran through Ethan’s mind. How would he break the news of his divorce to his father and most importantly how would he break the news of Shirley’s pregnancy to him too.
A few minutes later, Ethan heard a faint voice and immediately raised his head,
“Dad.” He called worriedly as he drew himself closer to the bed,
“Ethan.” Mr Fordham called gently,
“Is there anything you need? What happened? Did your health fail again?” Ethan continued asking multiple questions as he stared at his dad.
Mr Fordham gently raised his hand to touch his son’s hand,
“Where’s my daughter in law? Where’s your wife Ethan?”
For a few seconds, Ethan remained silent, unable to give a response. His father had no idea he had divorced Olivia and now wasn’t the right time to break the news to his dad as well,
“She went on a business trip Dad, she’ll be back in a few weeks time.” Ethan responded, with the hopes that in a few days, he would be able to find her and maybe keep her at arms length.
He had not expected her to just walk out of his life in a jiffy. Didn’t she love him after all?
“Call Rose, you should go pay respects to your late mother in law, Ethan. Now that Olivia isn’t here, you do it.”
Ethan arched his eyebrows in surprise.
Today was really September 28th, the same day Olivia had lost her mother, meaning it was her mother’s death anniversary and never for once had he even visited her grave to pay his respects to her.
Ethan felt his heart thump hard for a second. Olivia was his wife for two years but he had no idea which day she always felt pain most in her life out of the 365 days that existed in a year.
He had never been there for her when they were married, but right now the intense urge to want to correct all those mistakes was rising inside of him. Only that, it was already too late to make amends.
A knock was rasped on the door afterwards, and when the door opened, a nurse walked in, pushing towards a small stretcher,
“Sir, it’s time for his surgery. The doctor would be available afterwards”
Ethan nodded his head and rose to his feet, taking a few steps backwards so the nurse could come closer.
“Sir, please relax. It will be done in a couple of hours and you’ll be feeling alright again” The nurse assured before she began to move the stretcher towards the entrance. As soon as they were out of the room, Ethan tucked his hand into his pocket to get his ringing phone.

It was Luke calling.
In a hurry, he answered the call and placed the phone close to his ear,

“Did you find her? Did you find my wife?” He questioned almost immediately without waiting for Luke to speak first, but Luke responded afterwards,
“No sir. I got here too late. Ms Olivia is gone!”
