“You mean Kaia? The Bennett family’s abandoned daughter?” Sophia looked slightly surprised.
“Yes, that’s her! Just now at the mall…” Rita recounted everything that had happened earlier.
Sophia exploded with rage. “That little bitch! Stirring up drama with the Bennetts wasn’t enough. Now she’s bullying my daughter? Who does she think she is?”
Rita’s father, Issac Parsons, took a drag from his cigarette and exhaled. “Let’s not jump to conclusions. You’re saying she fought with you over clothes in a Kaye Bella store… and she actually won?”
Rita said, “She’s shameless! Dad, you remember those luxury cars last night? I’m certain someone is keeping Kaia. Otherwise, how could she afford Kaye Bella clothes?”
Sophia chimed in angrily, “She’s a shameless little slut. The Bennett family was wise to cut ties with
her.”
Rita said, “Mom, you have to get revenge for me!”
Sophia frowned. “But where am I supposed to find her now?”
Go to the Bennett family. Even if Kaia’s been kicked out, she can’t completely cut ties with them. Maybe one day she’ll go crawling back,” Rita suggested.
Sophia agreed. “That makes sense! Let’s go to the Bennett family right now and demand an explanation.”
The Parsons family promptly marched over to the Bennett family household.
Mr. Parsons, Mrs. Parsons, what brings you here? Forgive us for not welcoming you properly, please come in, Ruth greeted them with a fawning smile.
Issac was the cousin of Louis’s mother, Maisie, and both the Parsons and Ross families had a much higher standing in Morganburg than the Bennett family. Naturally, Ruth treated Sophia with
deference.
“It’s because of Kaia!” Sophia said sharply.
Ruth froze for a moment, then her face darkened. “Kaia? What about her? Did she offend you?”
Sophia replied, “You know her temperament. She bullied my daughter Rita and humiliated her in public!”
Ruth’s face grew even more displeased. She had suspected as much.

She said, “Mrs. Parsons, you know Kaia no longer has anything to do with our family.”

Sophia asked, “Truly nothing at all? Can you guarantee that the Bennett family will never take her back?”
Absolutely not,” Ruth said firmly.
Sophia said, “You expect me to believe that? If one day Kaia can’t survive out there and begs you for forgiveness, I don’t believe you will ignore her.”
Ruth looked at Lincoln, who let out a sigh. “Mrs. Parsons, please wait a moment.”
Lincoln immediately ordered his assistant to take care of something, and soon the Bennett family’s official account posted a new statement.
[Update: The Bennett family cannot tolerate Kaia. Even if one day she begs us for forgiveness, we will absolutely never forgive her. Don’t call us heartless. She brought this entirely upon herself. So if she causes trouble or offends someone in the future, please do not associate it with the Bennett family.]
Sophia, reading the post, smacked her lips. “That’s cold… but I support you. You did the right thing. In that case, we won’t trouble you further.”
The tension between the two families eased.
Lincoln extended an invitation. “Mr. Parsons, Mrs. Parsons, please come in and join us for dinner. Oh, by the way, Mr. Parsons, I heard you’ve partnered with K&B?”
“Yes, we signed the contract last month. You’re well informed,” Issac replied, recognizing the flattery but not rejecting it.
“That’s incredible! Mr. Parsons, you’re amazing. To secure a partnership with K&B is no small feat. I truly admire you!” Lincoln lit a cigarette for him.
Issac smiled It’s nothing special. We just had a good proposal that K&B liked,”
Lincoln continued, “Mr. Parsons, don’t be so modest. K&B is one of the top corporations in Morganburg. A good proposal alone wouldn’t be enough. You’ve got real ability, and your company has straigh

But just as Lincoln was stepping toward the kitchen, Isaac’s urgent voice rang out behind him. “What did you say? Say that again! K&B canceled our cooperation? Why?”

Lincoln froze and turned back toward him. Sophia and Rita also looked over immediately.
Issac’s face turned red with anxiety. “We offended someone we shouldn’t have? When did we offend anyone? Did you find out clearly?”
On the other end, his assistant said, “Mr. Parsons, I’m not sure of the details. Just now, K&B’s representative called and said our company had a lot of nerve, acting arrogantly. Starting today, they will no longer cooperate with us in any way.”
Issac was freaking out, looking like a total mess, his face completely fallen.
Lincoln swallowed hard and asked slowly, “Mr. Parsons, what… happened?”
‘Hell if I know!‘ Issac was about to snap. Then his gaze snapped to Rita, making her jump in her
seat.
Rita asked, “Dad… why are you looking at me like that?”
“Did you offend anyone today?” Issac demanded.
Aside from his troublemaking daughter, he couldn’t think of any other reason for K&B to cancel the partnership.
“No, no! I didn’t offend anyone. I just had a little argument with Kaia, that’s all!” Rita stammered, her voice shaky.
“Kaia?” Issac frowned.
“It can’t be Kaia!” From the phone call earlier, Rita had already guessed a bit. “I really didn’t offend any big shots. Kaia… she’s just some wild girl the Bennett family kicked out. How could she possibly be some big figure?”
Rita didn’t believe Kaia was that influential.
“Or maybe… It’s whoever’s backing her?” Rita suddenly guessed, a thought striking her.
At that, everyone’s eyes widened.
Issac turned to Lincoln. “Do you know who’s keeping Kaia?”
Lincoln’s face darkened. “We… don’t know. But I doubt it’s Kaia. This is K&B. They wouldn’t end a partnership over some mistress.
Issac said, “Whether it’s her or not, she’s suspicious. And since my daughter was humiliated so badly by her, I can’t just let this go. Do you have her phone number? I want to call her personally!”
