Chapter 100
Chapter 100
:
Kaia had guessed they would ask, so she had prepared in advance.
She answered, “My last name is Dean.”
Kaia used her adoptive mother Willa’s maiden name.
“Dr. Dean, would you like to have dinner together?” Tobias asked.
Kaia lowered her eyes, knowing that Tobias had not dispelled his doubts.
Since that was the case, she might as well use it to her advantage.
“Since Mr. Moreno is eager to invite me, I won’t stand on ceremony.”
Soon, they went to Splendor Hotel together and booked the most luxurious private room.
After ordering a large table of dishes, Tobias raised his glass. “To you, Dr. Dean.”

Kaia reached out to take off the mask on her face, noticing that Tobias was staring at her without blinking.
After taking off her mask, Kaia picked up her glass and clinked it against Tobias’s.
After seeing Kaia’s face clearly, Tobias lowered his eyes without any expression.
Sure enough, he was overthinking it.
Tobias returned to the villa after 8 p.m.
Kaia was sitting on the sofa watching the news.
“You’re really different from most girls. Few girls like to watch the news.” Tobias naturally walked over and sat next to Kaia.
They were very close, almost touching.
Kaia shifted uncomfortably. “How’s your grandma’s treatment?”
Tobias replied, “That doctor is very skilled. Grandma will be completely cured in six months.”
“That’s indeed impressive,” Kaia replied calmly.
Tobias had been observing Kaia. Kaia’s gaze remained on the TV, and her emotions didn’t fluctuate in the slightest.
“When will Pioneer Retreat be fully developed?” Tobias asked, frowning.
“Conrad said it would be completed next month, around the time school is about to start,” Kaia replied, still watching TV.

“Sorry, Kyle, I was just packing up. That’s why I’m a bit late,” Rosie said.

As she spoke, Rosie slipped into the car, handed over the framed painting she’d prepared, and lowered her head with a bashful, almost nervous smile.
“This is a little something I made for you. It’s been so long since we last met, and I really missed you, so I painted this for you,” she said softly.
“Is that me?” Kyle asked, still a bit puzzled as he looked at the portrait in the frame.
Rosie beamed at him, her smile bright and full of hope. “Of course. Did you forget, Kyle? I’m majoring in oil painting,” she replied.
“How could I forget?” There was a flicker of desire in Kyle’s eyes as he reached for her, but Rosie lightly brushed his hands away.
“Kyle, not now, okay? Let’s go to your place first,” she pouted, her tone a little anxious. “Things between us are still so uncertain, and I can’t help but worry. When are we actually going to get married?”
Rosie looked at him earnestly, but Kyle avoided her gaze, mumbling, “There’s no rush. I need to talk it over with my family first. You know, I’m not the one who calls the shots in the Carter family.”
“Alright,” Rosie murmured, lowering her head to hide the disappointment in her eyes. When she looked up again, she was all smiles, as if nothing had happened.
Rosie’s sexy waist slipped easily into Kyle’s hands, her legs winding tightly around him as she snuggled up to him like a soft, pampered kitten.
It wasn’t until they reached the Carter Mansion that Kyle finally parked the car.
As soon as they stepped inside, Kyle noticed people hurrying back and forth, busy packing things up. He looked puzzled. “Is something going on today? Why is everyone suddenly packing?”
Patrick was completely absorbed in his book, paying no attention to Kyle at all.
Kyle acted as if he didn’t notice, bringing Rosie straight over to Patrick. “Hi, Grandpa,” he said.
Finally, Patrick looked up, pushing his glasses up his nose. The reflected light let him clearly see the scheming look on Kyle’s face.
Patrick set his book down and turned to Kyle. “Just say what you want, Kellan will be back soon, and he’s bringing his fiancée with him.”
“What? He’s getting married?” Kyle’s eyes went wide in shock, and he struggled to wrap his head around the
news.
Patrick didn’t bother to respond. He just kept busy with his things.
But Kyle wasn’t ready to give up. He let go of Rosie’s hand and sidled up to Patrick, peppering him with questions.

Chapter 100
:
Suddenly, Tobias reached out, grabbed Kaia’s shoulders, and turned her body to face him.
He said, “Can you not move away?”
There was a hint of pleading in the man’s voice.
Kaia’s heart softened for a moment, but reason quickly overcame emotion.
She said softly, “I feel like I am your mistress this way. I don’t like this feeling.”
Tobias denied it. “I wouldn’t think that way.”
“I would.” Kaia’s tone was firm, and she was determined to move out.
She had nothing to do with Tobias anymore, and it was not right to continue living there.

Seeing that Kaia had made up her mind, Tobias didn’t force it anymore. In fact, he had known this was the result, but he was just unwilling to give up.
He changed the subject. “Do you remember you still owe me a favor?”
Kaia remembered that. When she participated in the final racing competition last time, she had promised Tobias that as long as the condition was not too excessive, she would agree.
She asked, “Tell me, what’s the condition?”
Tobias said, “This Saturday, I want to take you to the beach, just the two of us.”
Kaia heard what he meant. “Are you going to clear the beach?”
“Smart girl, as expected of the person I have my eyes on,” Tobias said with a proud look.
Kaia was left speechless.
He pressed, “Do you agree? This request isn’t too much, is it?”
After thinking for two seconds, Kaia asked, “You don’t want me to wear some revealing swimsuit, do you?”
“Do you think I’m that kind of lewd person?” Despite Tobias’s calm demeanor, he had actually had this thought before,
Kaia pondered for another two seconds, then her pupils suddenly dilated, and she looked at Tobias. “You’re not going to be naked, are you?”
Tobias smiled, a smile as gentle as a spring breeze. “If you want to see it, I can wear nothing at all.”
Looking at the handsome face that suddenly approached, Kaia’s breathing obviously stagnated, and she moved her body to the side of the sofa again, distancing herself from the man.
She rolled her eyes at him. “You say you’re not that kind of lewd person. That sentence just now was lewd.”

Kyle said, “When did they get engaged? Why didn’t I hear a thing about it before? There’s no way he just suddenly decided to get married, right?
“Did you look into her background? Don’t tell me she’s only after the Carter family fortune-”
“Since when did you care so much about my love life, Kyle?” Outside, a playful laugh echoed through the hall.
Kyle instinctively turned his head, only to see the one person who always made him a bit uneasy, Kellan, walking in, hand in hand with a stunning woman whose hands were delicate.
The woman was half–hidden behind Kellan, but Kyle could just make out the elegant silhouette of her crescent–patterned dress, perfectly accentuating her curves.
For a split second, Kyle was completely entranced. He was just about to shift for a better look when the woman suddenly stepped out from behind Kellan.
“Zina? How are you here?” Before Kyle could even react, Rosie had already blurted it out.
“Stop making such a scene. Kyle, why is your girlfriend so rude? Not a shred of manners,” Patrick said, his voice quiet and commanding.
Kyle shot Rosie a vicious glare, then quickly put on a fawning smile. “Grandpa, you’re right. I’ll make sure she learns some manners when we get home.
“But you might not know. We knew Kellan’s fiancée. She’s the Sinclair family’s heiress, and she’s even been to prison. She used to cling to me all the time, and now, who would’ve thought, she’s latched onto Kellan just because of me.”
“Are you seriously trying to kill me with laughter?” Kellan couldn’t help himself and actually burst out laughing.
He moved in closer to the self–important young man, his eyes growing sharper and colder.
“So what, you’re saying my stunning fiancée would pass up a guy like me–looks and brains both–just to go for a loser like you? Oh, right, not just a loser, but one with zero taste.” Kellan curled his lip in a sneer, his gaze flicking over Rosie.
Rosie’s face turned bright red in an instant, but she didn’t dare say a word. She could only glare daggers at Zina, thinking Zina was the root of all her problems.
Zina just shrugged, completely unfazed, and walked right up to Kellan, slipping her hand into his.
The moment their fingers intertwined, Zina looked up at Kyle with a smirk. “Kyle, I told you already. Stop trying to get noticed by me. Your girl is right over there. And by the way, I will marry your uncle. You should show some respect, right?”
Zina deliberately dragged out those last words, and seeing Kyle’s face fall, she felt even more delighted.
Out of the corner of her eye, Zina noticed Patrick standing there, silent but watching everything. She decided not to push her luck and stopped talking.

Chapter 100
Tobias couldn’t help laughing out loud as he looked at Kaia’s red face.
“Okay, whatever you say.”
Anyway, no matter what she said, Tobias was in a good mood.
That settled it. The next day was Friday, and the day after tomorrow would be Saturday.
The next day, Scott stood nervously in front of the entrance of K&B.

“Kaia wasn’t joking with me, was she? But she’s not the type to joke around! And she can’t joke about something like this.”
Scott was talking to himself when Kaia called.
She asked, “Are you at K&B?”
Scott answered, a bit nervously. “I, I just got here.”
Kaia added, “Then go in quickly. I’ve spoken to the people inside, so there won’t be any problems.”
Scott swallowed. “Kaia, are you sure I won’t get kicked out?”
“You’re my brother. Who would dare to kick you out? Okay, I just got to work. I have to go now. Just go in.”
With that, Kaia hung up the phone and walked into the research institute.
“Huh? Was that Kaia just now?” Cecelia stared at the entrance of the research institute with wide eyes.
“Kaia? How could it be?” Bianca followed her gaze, only seeing a figure disappear into the entrance.
Cecelia scratched the back of her head, unsure. “Just now, it really looked like her.”
Bianca said, “Nope, it was impossible. This is Dr. Bennett’s research institute. How could Kaia get in? You don’t think she’s a researcher or professor, do you?”
“Heh!” Cecelia laughed dismissively. “If she were a researcher or professor, I’d cut off my head and use it as a ball for her to kick. I bet even if she got in, she’d be cleaning the institute.”
“She’s not even worthy of cleaning here, okay? With her kind of character, wouldn’t the institute do a background check before hiring? How could she possibly get in?” Bianca said disdainfully.
“Let’s not talk about her. It’s a mood killer. Let’s go shopping.” Cecelia pulled Bianca away.
*****
Scott bit his lip and took a deep breath.
He told himself. “I’ll give it a shot!”
He straightened his suit, strode into K&B, and went straight to the front desk.

As the living room fell into an awkward silence, Patrick finally broke the ice. “Alright, enough with the noise. Since everyone’s here, I’ll have the kitchen set out a few more tablewares.
“Today is Kellan’s day to bring his fiancée home. If you want to stay, then stay. If you can’t handle it, then just leave.”
Kyle clenched his jaw, but managed to force a smile. “I got a little carried away just now, Kellan. Don’t take it personally. Let’s eat first.”
With that, Kyle headed straight for the dining table.
Zina and Kellan exchanged a glance, both catching that glint of mischief in each other’s eyes.
The two were instantly on the same page and headed straight for the dining table.
The atmosphere in the room seemed peaceful again, but everyone knew deep down this was just the calm before the storm.

Chapter 100
“Hi, I’m here to apply for a part–time job. My sister told me to…”
“You must be Mr. Scott Becker, right?” The receptionist was very respectful.
Scott was stunned for a moment. “Yeah, I, I am Scott Becker.”

The receptionist smiled. “Nice to see you, Mr. Becker. Mr. Dorsey instructed that as soon as you arrived, I should take you to his office.”
Scott was stunned again. “Mr. Dorsey, which, which Mr. Dorsey?”
The receptionist smiled. “Mr. Becker, you’re so funny. We only have one Mr. Dorsey at K&B, no others.”
“Oh…” Scott gasped. Since he came to K&B for an interview, he naturally knew the name of the company’s
owner.
He wondered, ‘Really? Is Conrad personally receiving me?
‘How could Kaia manage that?‘
A storm raged in Scott’s heart. In a daze, he followed the receptionist to the general manager’s office.
“Mr. Dorsey, Mr. Becker is here.”
Hearing that, Scott immediately looked towards Conrad, who was sitting at his desk.
He screamed inwardly, ‘It’s him! The real general manager of K&B!
‘Oh my god! A country bumpkin like me actually met such a big shot on my first day at the company.
The more Scott thought about it, the more nervous he became, and sweat streamed down his back.
Conrad stood up, walked towards him, and enthusiastically extended his hand.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Becker.”
