Realization dawned upon her.
She said, “Oh, I see. You knew I’d buy that lottery ticket, but didn’t stop me. You also purposely claimed that you wanted that house to provoke me into buying it. I took on so many loans as a result.
“You must’ve reported this lottery shop today too, right? As for the woman who won the lottery, you got her to come too.”
I smiled, not denying her words. Yes, it was all my doing. However, if Shayla wasn’t that greedy, she would’ve never fallen into my trap, no matter how much scheming I did.
Suddenly, Shayla’s phone rang. She answered the call, and a female voice told her, “Ms. Lane, you took a loan of 3 million dollars from our bank, and it’s due in ten days. This call is a reminder.”
Shayla’s face was pale as she ended the call.
Another call came instantly, but she quickly turned off her phone.
“It’s no use. Even if you switch off your phone, they’ll still find you,” I said.
A few days later, Shayla was brought to the police station for failing to pay her debts.
She tried reporting Aaron as well, insisting he should pay the debt with her, but her efforts were in vain. After all, the loans were all under Shayla’s name. Aaron did use the money, but she had given the money to him willingly.
All our classmates returned the Labubus to her. We even split the cost of dinner that night. No one wanted to take advantage of Shayla, but she still had to pay for her actions.
After multiple instances of missing court dates and failing to comply with subpoenas, Shayla was sentenced to three years in prison.
At the final hearing, Shayla’s parents slapped her so hard her cheeks turned red and swollen.
They said, “You bitch! I shouldn’t have sent you to university. I should’ve married you off earlier. That way, at least my dignity is spared. You’re just a useless piece of trash. Just die in prison!”
Aaron thought he could walk away unscathed, but he didn’t expect that this incident would blow up online.
He searched long and hard for a job, but no companies were willing to hire him.
Later, he ended up as someone else’s gigolo. When our classmates told me about it, I wasn’t surprised at all. After all, the love of his life was money.
Besides, he was used to living a carefree life with Shayla. There was no way he would return to the suburbs willingly.
Alas, Aaron got unlucky
It was his first time being a gigolo, but the woman was married Her husband used to be a security guard, so he found a few friends to beat Aaron up and even crushed his manhood Apparently, he was on the verge of death by the time he was brought to the hospital.
After he woke up, he went completely insane and was sent to a mental hospital.
A few years later, Shayla was released from prison. I heard about it at a class reunion.
Right after she came out of prison, her father brought her back home and sold her off to an old man for a few thousand dollars. No one saw them after that
