The old lady rolled her eyes. “I said, the money I won in the lottery has been deposited into my bank account. You kept saying that my lottery ticket was fake, and that I had been scammed. Which scammer would transfer so much money to me?”
As soon as she revealed that, Shayla staggered on her feet as everyone else gasped in shock.
“Damn, what’s going on?”
“The old lady received the money, so it means hers was definitely real.”
“If she has the real lottery ticket, then Shayla…”
As Shayla panicked, Aaron quickly supported her. “It’s fine, Shay. Don’t listen to her. I think she’s just spouting nonsense in order to become an influencer.”
Hearing that, Shayla quickly calmed down. “That’s right. You evil woman, how dare you mess with me? Just you wait. You’ll wish you’re dead.”
The old lady looked speechless. “Am I that free? Why would I mess with you? I’ve already won millions. Why would I be here instead of enjoying my wealth? I thought you were nuts after seeing your act.”
Shayla burst out laughing in anger.
Right then, a classmate said, “Shayla, you said you bought your lottery ticket next door, right? Why don’t we go check it out?” The others immediately agreed.
“Yes, let’s go check it out. It’s just next door, anyway.”
“You gathered us here today just to witness you cash the lottery prize, right?”
“Come on, let’s go next door. Don’t waste any more time.”
Soon, everyone walked out of the restaurant. However, they were dumbstruck yet again.
Three police officers were cordoning off the lottery shop.
Seeing that, Shayla paled and staggered forward, her voice trembling. “Sir, what’s going on?”
One police officer gave us a strange look before explaining, “This lottery shop was operating illegally and selling fake lottery tickets. We just received a report and came over to investigate. The lottery shop is now cordoned off.”
Hearing her words, Shayla nearly fainted in horror. Even Aaron’s hands were trembling violently.
“Are you saying that this lottery shop sold fake lottery tickets? So, all winning tickets are fake, too?”
The police officer nodded. “Yes. Did you buy lottery tickets here? We’ll post an announcement online soon to inform the public.”
The old lady who had actually won the prize looked triumphant. “Didn’t I tell you your lottery ticket is fake, young lady? You refused to believe me and insisted that I was scammed. I’ve already received the money in my account. How could that be a scam? See, you’re the one who got scammed“”
Suddenly, Shayla whirled around and lunged forward. Her target wasn’t the old lady, but me.
