Chapter 37
JESSICA
Me: Stop looking at me like that.
Baby Alpha: Looking like what?
frown, throwing Grayson a hideous look as he chuckles, still staring at his phone. We’re taking a break from training session when I notice him giving me a look. The others look at each other because he is very weird right now and I know why.
Logan hisses beside me. “You’re making it obvious.”
I quickly hide my phone and stole his bottle of water. ” Obvious of what?”
“You’re back together?”
I throw Grayson another look, trying to force my voice steady. ” No. He’s getting married.”
I swear to the moon goddess, if Grayson doesn’t stop with that fucking grin, I’ll strangle him with his own damn shirt.
“So, you knew,” Logan says, dragging out the word as he finally looks up, locking eyes with me. He tilts his head, the corner of his mouth twitching. “Just make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into, Jess.”
It makes me sick how much his words make my stomach flip. I know what he’s thinking, and I know what others will think of me if this goes
out and I know I am better than this.
“Alright, enough of the damn gossip.” Grayson shouted, shifting everyone’s attention to him. “Back to practice.”
I don’t even have time to respond. Grayson’s already moving, striding to the center of the room with that swagger he knows drives me crazy.
“Pair up,” he demands, his eyes scanning the room. “And for the love of the gods, get this right. I want this session clean. No bullshit.”
I roll my eyes, still pissed off at the whole situation, but I have to move. It’s practice. So I walk to the designated spot, my muscles tense as I
wait for whatever comes next.
Grayson looks at me, and I freeze. “You’re with me, Jess.”
A few heads turn, eyes narrowing in suspicion, but Grayson doesn’t care. He’s already walking toward me, too confident, too sure of himself.
“No, Grayson,” I say, my voice harsh, but I can feel the heat in my stomach rising. “I mean, alpha. I think I’ll just partner with Logan.”
He’s trying to make it obvious! Inside, I’m panicking because what if the others realize what we have?
He smirks. “You don’t get a say. Get over here.”
The others are silent. No one moves, but I can feel their eyes on us. It’s like everything slows down, like they’re waiting for me to snap. I
should. I should say something–tell him to fuck off.
But instead, my feet move. My body reacts before my mind can catch up.
Grayson’s already waiting, arms crossed, his eyes locked on mine. “Try to stay alive at the end of the practice, okay.
I just step up beside him, my jaw tight, my chest rising and falling faster than I want it to. Damn him and his mouth.

His grin widens. “Don’t die on me, fets-
I swallow hard, feeling a mix of anger and desire surge through me. He’s always been like this dominant, confronting and i kena tara trying to let the others not suspect is, but I hated how he talks to
He steps closer, his presence a smoldering inferno I can’t look away from. His fingers trace the outline of my jaw a soft, pe to lips hover next to my ear, barely a breath away, sending a shiver straight down my spiñe
“You still think you can take me on?” His voice is dark, stow, like it’s meant to strip ma Bare with just the words. His regiti la hit, agating my skin, making my pulse race even faster.
I meet his gaze, refusing to break eye contact. Every part of me aches with wanting him. I know this game. And I vina endil anda. Bid Air now, I want to play.
“I like you better when you’re talking dirty, baby,” I whisper back, just loud enough for him to hear
The others are watching, but I don’t care. It’s just Grayson and me.
“You still think you can take me on?” he whispers, lips brushing my ear, his breath hot against my skin.
I meet his gaze, refusing to break eye contact. Every part of me aches with wanting him, I know this game. And I know how it ends. But fo now, I want to play. “I like you better when you’re talking dirty, baby,” I whisper back, just loud enough for him to hear.
Grayson smirks, but before he can say anything, I act – fast, reckless, just like me. I snap my leg up in a swift kick aimed straight at his chest
The others gasp in unison, shock flashing across their faces as they take in the move. Grayson stumbles back, caught off guard, but only for a second. His eyes darken, lips curling into a wicked smile.
“Not bad, Jess.”
I barely give him time to respond before I launch myself toward him, my body moving with a fluidity that’s almost instinctual i twist around, using my momentum to send another roundhouse kick toward his ribs. It’s controlled, precise, and the force behind it is enough to make h grunt. I can tell he’s impressed, though he hides it behind that cocky grin.
“You’re good,” he mutters, his voice rough as he steps back, just barely out of reach. “But I’m not done yet.”
He moves fast, faster than I expect, and suddenly I’m the one’on the defensive. His hands grab my wrists, pinning them above my head in one swift motion. My heart stutters, a mixture of rage and heat flooding my veins.
“That’s cheating,” he says, a little too close for comfort, his breath hot against my face. “But you’ve still got a long way to go if you wanna take me down.”
I pull against his grip, frustrated, but the strength of his hold only makes me more determined. I twist, shifting my body under his, and with a quick jerk, I pull one hand free, slamming it against his chest.
“Get off me,” I grit out, every word laced with defiance, but it sounds like a plea even to my own ears.
And just when I think he’s about to push me further, make me break, the sound of a car door slamming in the distance breaks through the
tension.
Grayson freezes, his gaze snapping over my shoulder, and the look on his face–surprise mixed with irritation–m
my blood run cold.
A sleek black car rolls into view, the engine purring as it comes to a stop. And when the door opens, I don’t need to see her to know who it is.
Aria.

Chapter 37
His future fucking Luna.
The sight of her stepping out of the car, tall, confident, and perfectly put together, is enough to fear a jagged hole through everything that was building between us.
Grayson’s jaw tightens, his body tense. He looks at me for a split second, something unreadable flashing in his eyes, and for a moment, think he might say something–something that’ll change everything. But then, he lets go of me, stepping back, his expression hardening
“Perfect timing,” he mutters, more to himself than to me.
I stand there, breathless, my heart pounding in my ears. Grayson already walking towards her, his stance changing—back to that cold, distant version of himself.
I don’t move. I don’t know what to do.
Aria’s eyes flick to me as she approaches, her smile almost smug as she takes in the scene, like she knows exactly what just happened.
She holds Grayson’s gaze for a second longer than necessary, her lips curling into something that’s not quite a smile. And then, in a move so casual it makes my blood boil, she takes his arm, threading hers through his like she’s the fucking queen of the world.
“Hi baby, I miss you.”
