After probably pissing Grayson the whole night, the dinner ended
The second the car doors shut, Logan burst into laughter.
“As in, seriously?” he wheezed, smacking the back of the driver’s seat. “You tried to one–up Aria in that dress? Jess, babe. Have you forgot she’s our future Luna?”
I jerked my head toward him, jaw dropped. “Fuck you.”
“Language,” Pierce muttered without looking up from the road. His knuckles were tight on the steering wheel, eyes fixed ahead like he was replaying the whole damn dinner scene in his head on loop.
“Oh please,” I snapped. “Don’t start with me. You didn’t even defend me when Aria is insulting me earlier.”
Pierce just sighed. Logan kept laughing.
“You should’ve seen your face when Grayson handed her that wine glass,” Logan teased. “Jealous so much?”
“I wasn’t jealous,” I bit out, crossing my arms tight. “Why would I be jealous?”
Damn right, I am. I don’t know if he’s getting revenge but after our banter, he sticks on his script of becoming Aria’s fiancé.
“Why would you?” Logan grinned at me with all his teeth. “You’re just nothing but his omega, right?”
I threw my heel at him. It hit the dashboard with a thud.
“HEY!” Pierce yelped. “These are leather seats!”
We hit a bump, and I jolted, letting out an annoyed grunt as I adjusted my dress back down my thighs. I could still feel Grayson’s hatred from earlier. Thank goddess his father joined us or else we really ended up messing up tonight. He wasn’t supposed to look at me. But all he did was to stare the entire dinner. I mean, I cannot really blame him.
Pierce finally spoke, his voice low. “You shouldn’t have gone tonight if you weren’t going to control yourself.”
I stiffened. “Control myself? I didn’t do anything-”
“You were breathing like you were about to start a fight,” he muttered. “And Grayson noticed. Everyone noticed.”
I rolled my eyes, but heat rushed to my cheeks. “Shut up, Logan.”
We were just a block away from the house when it happened.
SCCCRRRRREEEEEEECHHH.
I slam forward. My shoulder smacks the passenger seat. Logan jerks upright.
“Fucking hell-”
The car halts. Lights flash behind the windshield, blinking white and red and murderous.
“What the fuck?” Pierce says.

Chapter 40
I shot up, heart racing, lungs skipping, and stared through the windshield as the driver’s door creaked open. A man stepped out, rolling his sleeves up to his arm. I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until I finally let it out, shaky and fast.
“Grayson?”
What the fuck. What the fuck.
What is he doing here?
1 blinked. Swallowed. My whole spine locked. Grayson reached the front of the car just as my hand flew to the door handle. I needed to stop him. Ask him. However, Pierce grabbed my arm, stopping me.
“Wait here,” he muttered. “I’ll just go and talk to him.”
He didn’t wait for my answers. The door slammed and he was already out, walking towards Grayson. I couldn’t hear whatever they are saying but they looked like they are serious as hell and both of them kept glancing inside the car.
A minute later, Grayson walked closer, straight to my side of the car. I quickly scrambled back into my seat. Grayson raised both eyebrows- mocking.
He looks amused when he opened the door. “Get out,” he said.
Grayson looked pissed. “No.” He bent lower, closer. His hand braced on the roof of the car. “What are you doing here?”
Step out of the car, Jess.” He let out a long breath through his nose. “Now.”
If I stepped out, I don’t know what will happen to me and even though I like him better when he’s angry, I really don’t want to deal with him right now.
A few feet away, Pierce was silent.
“Seriously, what’s your problem?” I asked, still not budging.
“My problem,” Grayson said, his voice low, “is that my fucking girlfriend don’t is being a brat again.” His hand tapped the roof once. “Get out of the car, baby.”
“No.”
“Jessica!”
“I said no! Damn it!”
Grayson stares at me, hard, his eyes cold and wild, lips curling in disbelief. Shit.
“I–I mean…”
“I don’t have fucking patience tonight.”
One second, I’m on my feet, the next, Grayson’s hands are under me, lifting me effortlessly. My feet leave the ground with a jolt, and a breath catches in my throat as his grip locks around my ass, pulling me against his chest.
“Grayson, what the hell-” I push against his chest, but it’s useless. “Let me go!”
Grayson doesn’t respond–his laugh is low, guttural, like he’s enjoying every second of this.
“I swear to goddess!! I’ll fucking kill you.”

Chapter 40
He barely looks at me as he speaks, his voice directed at Pierce. “I’ll give her back before sunrise.”

Grayson doesn’t give him a second glance. Without a word, he turns, carrying me in his arms. When we reach his car, he tosses me in, almost too roughly, but not enough to hurt. I’m breathless, my body still on fire from how tightly he’s been holding me. I glare at him, my face flushed, fists still clenched, but he’s already opening the door, throwing me inside.
“Sit and shut up.”
I’m going to tear him open. I don’t even have time to react before the car roars to life, and we’re speeding off. “Where the hell are you taking me?”
I push against the seat, eyes narrowing, fists still clenched. “What the hell is wrong with you?” I spit the words out, but they feel useless. My anger is a blinding flame, and I can’t even control it.
Grayson shifts in his seat. His gaze slides over me, lingering on my body. “Fix your dress, Jessica.”
I hadn’t even noticed how my dress had ridden up, how I was sitting like an exposed mess, my thighs pressing against the seat. Fuck him.
“Excuse me?” I growl, my teeth gritting.
He doesn’t respond, just keeps his eyes on the road. Oh, fuck you.
“I’m not your damn doll, Grayson.”
Grayson’s lips twitch, a barely–there smirk forming. But before I can say another word, his hand is on me, grabbing my dress–roughly. He jerks the fabric down, yanking it so violently that I gasp, my breath catching in my throat as the movement has me off–balance for a split
second.
His eyes meet mine, and the smirk deepens. “There,” he mutters, his voice thick with satisfaction, as if it’s all part of the plan. “Fixed.”
I feel my cheeks burn, a mix of embarrassment. I quickly look away, anywhere but him. This man knows how to make me feel exposed without even trying. “Are you going… to punish me?”
“Punish you?” he repeats, voice dripping with mockery. “Did you do something wrong?”
‘You look pissed earlier.”
Grayson laughs again, this time the sound louder, more amused. Am I?” he says, casting me a quick side glance, eyes glinting with something I can’t quite place. “Guess I’m a little pissed, but not in the way you think, Jessica.”
My heart skips a beat. What does that even mean?
He leans back into the seat, still driving with that casual arrogance. “I always knew you have a very filthy mouth, baby. So I am not really surprised.” He smirks, his eyes flicking to me again, this time longer.
I swallow hard, a knot forming in my stomach.
“So you’re no angry?” I snap, my tone sharper now, more defensive. “Your Luna looks like she’s going to cry earlier.”
He grins wider, the kind of grin that says he knows exactly why I did what I did. “How does that taste coming out of your mouth, baby?” His voice is almost playful now, but there’s no mistaking the hint of something darker. “You really love calling her my luna when we both know, it’s you I love.”
I cross my arms tightly over my chest, trying to control the wave of heat spreading through me. “But I’m not the one wearing your family ring,” I mutter under my breath, but loud enough for him to hear.

“What?” Grayson’s laugh is softer now, a rumble in his chest that seems to vibrate through the car. “That bothers you?” His eyes flicker to mine for a moment, “I could give you everything I have baby… if you’d let me.”
My body tenses. I suddenly want to jump of the car because of what he said.
He shakes his head, a sly smile creeping onto his lips. He bites down on them for a second, as if he’s savoring the moment before his gaze turns to me. Without warning, his hand finds mine, rough fingers brushing against my skin as he holds it in a way that leaves no room for escape. “If you want, I can give you the world.” He presses a soft, almost teasing kiss to my hand, the gesture sharp and possessive. “But that’s only if you stop being so damn stubborn and let me.”
