Chapter 76
JESSICA
“So,” I mutter, kicking a rock just to have something to look at that isn’t his face. “That was… wildly productive.”
Riot doesn’t answer. He stood a few feet off, arms tight across his chest, eyes flat and cold. Always pissed too. “You mad I didn’t take training seriously?”
He said nothing. That was yes.
“I did push–ups.”
“Three,” he muttered, finally. “Then you flopped down like you were sunbathing.”
“It was hot.” I shrugged, lazy, teasing. “You flopped down with me too remember?
That made him snort.
I swear Riot probably have multiple personalities. I just can’t figure him out. Earlier, when he offered me advice, I literally gawked at him. He’s so unpredictable. No wonder he’s…I blink not wanting to really remember Grayson. I got a lot of problem right now and him being with Aria should not bothered me.
Hell, I broke up with him. So it should be okay with me, right? If he wants another woman to satisfy his needs or… but I wouldn’t do that to him. I remember how I was literally in heat but all I cared about is just pleading Riot to just touch my arms.
How is that not pathetic?
Goddess, I hate myself.
And still–still–I love him.
Stupid, wreck–me, ruin–my–life love.
I can’t think of better scenarios in my head if what happened between them that night.
“Did you hear what I said?”
I catch myself mid–thought and Riot being so close to me. “What the hell?” I quickly shove him away because I can literally feel his hot breath on my face. “What do you think you’re doing?”
There’s a slight frown on his face before he darkly chuckles and mutter a great fuck under his breath. See? Multiple personalities.

‘You’re so stupid, Jessica,”
Well, fuck. I’d thought I already heard the worst insult there is but that shit coming out of Riot’s mouth is simply…

insulting. My nose flares ready to attack him I notice that Grayson’s truck is outside of our house.
Riot must’ve seen it too when he smirks and took a step closer.” So, your boyfriend is here?”
“He’s not my boyfriend.”
“No?”
I scowl at him. He’s intentionally closing the gap between us until I’m literally cornered by him. Riot is always looking for trouble. And the trouble’s here.
“Whatever you are planning don’t do it.”
I startle when Riot leans down just enough to make me squeal. He licks his lips, meeting my eyes directly, but even without looking I know he’s damn enjoying this.
“What…am I planning, Jessica?” He asks, gently grabbing my chin and making me look at him. “Don’t you want to have some fun?”
“You’re such an asshole.”
Somehow, even amidst the stupidity of these, I, too, want to see Grayson’s reaction. We’re near the entrance and our windows big enough to see what’s going on outside.
I have no idea what Grayson is doing here. I am very much aware though that I want to get my revenge to whatever happened with him and Aria that night. So, I look up to Riot, swallowing hard. I had stare at his gaze for so long! didn’t know I’m already drowning on it.
A hysterical gasp escapes me when I realized we’re almost kissing. Almost. Just a few inch closer and I’d commit whatever Grayson did.
“Easy there, vixen,” Riot said, tracing a lazy path down my arm, before gripping my chin and making me look at our window.
My breath hitches as he leans in, bypassing my mouth entirely to drag his lips along my jawline. The sensation is intoxicating–warm, wet, and just the right amount of rough.
“He’s watching us,” Riot murmurs against my skin, gently tilting my face toward the window. “Your boy doesn’t look happy.”
Grayson stands outside, perfectly still, face carved from stone. There’s nothing there–no anger, no jealousy, nothing to indicate he cares at all what I’m doing or who I’m with. The emptiness in his eyes cuts deeper than rage ever could.
“He doesn’t care,” I whisper, hating how my voice breaks..
Never mind that Riot is here witnessing my downfall.

“Ah, somebody moved on,” Riot says and my heart hurts more. “Do you want to know a secret I’ve learned last
night Jessica?”
“No,” I grit out.
Iyelp when Riot pulls me up by the hair. ” There were moans coming outside of Grayson’s room and I am sure it’s not yours. Do you know why?”
W–What?
My eyes widened and I cannot help but to look up to see Riot staring down at me. He’s enjoying my every reaction when our door harshly opens and Grayson is storming outside.
“Because I know your moans.” Riot quickly said before Grayson is there grabbing his collars and shoving him away from me. I was too stunned to speak I cannot process it.
Fucking hell.
So, I was right.
Something really happened between Grayson and Aria-
“You piece of shit!” Grayson roars, swinging hard and landing a punch straight into Riot’s jaw.
Riot’s head snaps to the side–but he laughs. Laughs. Wipes the blood from his lips and continue to stare at me. I—
I can’t breathe.
Grayson’s breathing is ragged, primal. I’ve never seen him like this–knuckles split open, eyes wild like some caged animal. When he pulls back for another punch, I finally find
my
voice.
“Grayson-” It comes out ripped and raw, barely audible above the ringing in my ears.
“Grayson, stop!” 1 lunge forward, grabbing his sweat–slicked arm. His skin is scorching under my fingers, muscles
rigid like steel cables. “Stop this!”
Without even looking, he shoves me off. His elbow catches me in the chest, and I stumble backward, tripping over my own feet.
“Stay out of this, Jess.” His voice doesn’t even sound like him–it’s guttural, savage.
I sit there, stunned stupid, watching him get mad.
“Fight back, you asshole,” Grayson shouted again, beating Riot, I thought he’ll just take it when he suddenly push Grayson away making him roll down the ground.
Riot casually wipe his shirt and gives me a wink. ” You know where to find me.”
My mouth hangs open as Riot turns to leave, his confident stride never faltering even with a trickle of blood at the

corner of his mouth.
“What the fuck?” Grayson’s voice cracks through my stunned silence. His hand is suddenly gripping mine, fingers digging in so tight I wince. “What the actual fuck are you doing with him?”
Before I can answer, he’s pulling me inside the house.
“Let go of me!” I hiss, but he doesn’t stop until we’re back at my room. He practically shoves me inside, the door slamming behind us.
“Grayson, you’re being ridiculous!” The words burst out of me as I rub my wrist.
“I’m being ridiculous?” His laugh is sharp, humorless. “You’re hanging out with Riot now? That’s your brilliant
move?”
I back up as he advances, my spine hitting the edge of my desk. “It’s none of your business who I-”
“It is my business!” He slams his palm against the wall beside my head, making me jump. The heat from his body radiates through my thin shirt. “You know what he’s after me. He wants to be the alpha-”
“I know what he fucking wants,” I counter, shoving at his chest. He barely moves. “Get out of my face, Grayson.”
“Turn around.”
“What?” I breathe, heart racing.
Grayson harshly grips my hips and turns me around, pressing me against the desk. I think he’s going to continue yelling, but instead, he sweeps my hair aside and I feel his lips at the back of my neck.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“Claiming you.”
