Asher walked over and handed the badge to Kellan. “It’s interesting. He might be from some foreign force. Did someone you pissed off overseas come after you?”
“No way,” Kellan lifted his eyes and said. “I’ve already dealt with all of them.”
Asher shrugged. “Well, I have no clue then. Better think it over yourself.”
“Sorry, I need to use the restroom,” Zina said, quickly making up an excuse to leave as she realized the conversation was slipping out of her control.
Outside the restroom, Zina washed her hands, but found herself stuck again.
‘Should I go back now or not?‘ she wondered, feeling uncertain. ‘What if they’re still talking when I get back? That would just make things even more awkward.
After some thought, Zina decided to walk in the exact opposite direction of the private room.
Earlier, she’d noticed there was a window over here where one could see the view outside.
She had barely taken two steps when Zina ran right into someone. She reached up to rub her aching forehead, letting out a sharp hiss of pain.
“Are you blind or what? Can’t you see I’m here?” A sharp, piercing voice rang out, making Zina feel even dizzier. She looked up and realized it was an incredibly familiar face.
Before Zina could say anything, the woman beat her to it. “Zina, what are you doing here? Weren’t you kicked out of the Sinclair family? Did you sneak in or something?
“Or are you here with some sugar daddy? Wow, you’ll even go that far for money. You really are shameless.”
Rosie looked Zina up and down, then sneered, “So you’re serving some old man, and you can’t even score a single designer bag? Bet you regret walking out on the Sinclair family now, huh?”
*Has anyone ever told you that you never shut up?” Zina shot back. She rubbed her temples, her patience clearly running thin as her gaze turned icy.
Zina brushed off Rosie’s hand and was just about to walk away, but Rosie blocked her path again.
“Get out of my way,” Zina snapped, her patience snapping. She couldn’t be bothered anymore and, with a sharp motion, flung Rosie to the side.
Rosie suddenly lost her footing, barely having time to let out a yelp before she crashed to the floor, momentarily dazed.
Zina leaned down, looking straight at Rosie. “I already told you to move,” she said, her voice icy.
“Zina?” Rosie called out, her voice sharp. She propped herself up, a smug smile flickering across her face.

“Zina, I bet you haven’t heard yet. In a few days, the Sinclair family is about to level up. By then, you’ll be dying of envy, but it’ll be way too late for you,” Rosie taunted. Her crazed grin almost made her sound convincing.
Zina frowned, watching Rosie laugh like she’d lost her mind, a flash of confusion flickering in her eyes.
Rosie got up slowly, looking all smug. Even though she was shorter than Zina, Rosie still tried to give her a condescending glare, so much so that she actually had to stand on her tiptoes just to pull it off.
“Whatever,” Zina muttered, glancing at her phone. It had been about five or six minutes since she left, and the people inside should be wrapping up their conversation by now.
With that in mind, Zina headed straight back to the private room, tuning out Rosie’s screeching behind her.
When she walked back in, Zina stretched lazily, a hint of cheer lighting up her eyes.
The people inside really had just about finished talking. Zina had barely settled back into her seat when Kellan came over to her out of the blue.
“How about I walk you back?” Kellan said.
“Huh? Oh, sure,” Zina replied, nodding as she glanced at the others in the room. Only then did she realize that everyone looked tense and serious. It was like that tense silence right before a storm hit.
As soon as that thought crossed her mind, Zina clenched her fists, forcing herself to stay calm.
The car ride was unusually quiet. Zina turned her head just a little and caught a glimpse of Kellan, his eyes cool and clear as he focused on the road.
Kellan had a high–bridged nose, and between his brows lingered a trace of sadness that just wouldn’t fade
away.
Zina found herself staring at Kellan, completely lost in thought, before she suddenly blurted out, “Are you guys in trouble or something?”
“Yeah, it’s a bit of a headache, but nothing serious,” Kellan replied, his tone calm and steady.
He suddenly turned to look at her. “But you don’t need to worry. This won’t involve you. Just focus on what we have going on between us.”
“M–Maybe I mean, I could help?” Zina said, her voice full of hesitation.
Kellan looked up and met her gaze; she really did look like a nervous little bunny, her eyes so clear and maybe just a bit dumb.
It was like something suddenly hit him right in the chest. Without thinking, Kellan shook his head. “It’s fine.”
“Alright then” Zina shrugged, not saying anything more. She casually gave Kellan an address, then leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes to rest.
It was about time to start thinking about the party coming up in a few days. The Lambert family really was

something else when it came to her.
Half–awake, Zina opened her eyes to find Kellan leaning in close above her. Instinctively, she swung her hand and smacked him without even thinking.
As her mind cleared, Zina blinked in confusion at the man in front of her, not quite sure what was going on.
The sting in her palm made her suddenly realize what she’d just done, and her eyes flew wide open in disbelief.
“S–Sorry. I didn’t mean to,” Zina stammered, her voice trailing off.
Why did Kellan have to suddenly stick his head in like that?‘ Zina thought. ‘Why didn’t I realize it was him? He’s not too mad, is he?‘
Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, but Zina took a deep breath and plastered on her smile. “You’re not hurt, are you?”
Kellan, still a little stunned from the slap, quickly shook his head, his eyes finally clearing. “I’m fine. You’re getting off here?”
This place was obviously an office district, not somewhere people actually lived.
Kellan immediately caught on. She was clearly trying to keep her address a secret from him. He just let it go and moved out of her way. “Take care on your way,” he said.
Zina had been racking her brain for an excuse, but now that she could just get out of the car with no questions asked, she was caught a bit off guard.
She turned and saw Kellan leaning halfway out the car window, his arm resting casually as he watched her.
Zina shook her head, brushing off those unrealistic thoughts, then put on a bright smile and headed into the building.
On the fourteenth floor, people were coming and going, and as soon as Zina walked in, everything looked lively and peaceful.
She slipped past the crowd and made her way to the office. Zina pushed open the door, pulled up a chair like she’d done it a hundred times before, and sat down with ease.
The woman, buried in her newspaper, looked up at the sound, ready to snap at whoever was barging in. But the moment she recognized Zina’s face, her whole demeanor changed in a flash.
“Oh wow, look who it is. What brings you here? Come on, and have a seat. But seriously, tell me. What kind of trouble are you dragging me into this time?” she teased.
“Well,” Zina laughed awkwardly, looking like she could see right through her.
Zina let out a helpless sigh, sat down across from the woman, and met her eyes. “I want to borrow a set of your jewelry in a couple of days, the emerald one. Will you let me have it? Or is it too precious to part with?”

If Kaia had said that in the past, he would have taken it as a joke.
However, after so many things, he found it more difficult to see her through.

Time passed by, and Tobias looked towards the door of the ward from time to time, waiting for the medical expert to arrive.
Knock! A knock came from outside.
“That medical expert must be here! I’ll open the door.” Devin quickly walked to the ward door and opened it.
Tobias’s eyes also looked over immediately, and he saw a man wearing a hat standing at the door, his face tightly covered, and Tobias couldn’t see his face clearly.
“You are the medical expert who cured the SR Alliance?” Devin asked uncertainly.
Although this person was tightly covered, judging from the overall image, he was quite young, at most in his early twenties.
“It’s me.” Kaia lowered her voice.
Then her gaze shifted, meeting Tobias’s bright eyes, which were fixed on her.
She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Why is he looking at me like that? Has he recognized me again?
Today, I’m not only dressed as a man but also in disguise. Can he still recognize me? Or am I overthinking it, and he’s just curiously observing me?‘
“Please, come in.” Devin gestured.
Kaia nodded and walked in, ignoring Tobias’s gaze, and went straight to Pauline. “Are you the patient?”
“Yes, doctor. I’ve had this cold leg for many years. Do you think it can be cured?” Pauline looked at Kaia with hopeful eyes.
“Let me take a look first,” Kaia said, but in fact, she was already confident that she could cure Pauline’s leg.
After a simple examination of Pauline, she replied, “Although it’s severe, it can be cured, but it might need some time.”
When Pauline heard that, she was overjoyed and grabbed Kaia’s hand. “Really? Can it really be cured?”
Tobias looked at Kaia’s hand. The skin color was the same as the exposed neck color. He thought, ‘So that’s originally “his” skin color? Am I overthinking it? Is it just as Grandma said? Kaia said that to make her happy?
Kaia noticed Tobias was staring at her hand, and the corners of her mouth gradually curled up under the mask,
She knew that with Tobias’s rigorous and meticulous observation, he would definitely suspect her. In addition, what she had said to Pauline some time ago, Pauline had probably repeated to Tobias.

In fact, she told Pauline her identity without intending to hide it. But Pauline didn’t believe it. If she had told Tobias, she would probably have had to explain it.
That was too much trouble.
Later, after thinking it over, she decided not to reveal her identity.
“Don’t worry. It can be cured.” Kaia gave Pauline an affirmative answer.
Pauline was so excited!
Kaia added, “Relax first. I’m going to give you acupuncture.”
“Okay, okay.” Pauline wasn’t worried at all.
Seeing how cooperative Pauline was, Kaia shook her head.
Pauline used to resist acupuncture, but she was not afraid again when Kaia used a different identity.
It seemed she was right to hide her identity.
Kaia finished giving Pauline treatment after more than an hour.
She asked, “How do you
feel?”
Pauline was ecstatic. “It’s amazing! I don’t feel any soreness today! Doctor, you are a miracle healer!”
Kaia smiled faintly, packed her things, and stood up. “I’ll come back next week at this time.”
Seeing Kaia leaving, Tobias stood up. “I’ll see you off.”
“You’re too kind, Mr. Moreno. Please stay here and take care of your grandmother. I have something to do, so I’ve gotta go.” Kaia’s scalp tingled from Tobias’s gaze.
“Let me see you off first,” Tobias said in a tone that brooked no refusal. “I have something I want to discuss with you about my grandmother’s treatment.”
Since Tobias said that, Kaia couldn’t refuse. If she refused again, she would really arouse suspicion.
“As you wish.”
Kaia walked in front, and Tobias followed behind.
Kaia began, “Regarding your grandmother’s illness, I explained it clearly just now. Mr. Moreno, what else would you like to ask?”
Tobias looked Kaia up and down carefully as he asked, “You just said it wouldn’t be effective in a short period. How long is the short period you’re referring to? I’d like to have an idea.”

“Well…at least three months, I guess. After all, your grandmother has had this cold leg for quite a while. We can only treat it slowly. We can’t rush it. We have to get rid of the cold little by little, and then consolidate her body well. She will be completely cured after six months.” Kaia said conservatively.
“Completely cured after six months?” Tobias looked surprised. “Completely cured?”
Kaia nodded. “Yes, six months at most.”
Tobias took a slight breath in his heart. “I’m very curious. Since you have such medical skills, why is it that the outside world rarely hears of you?”
Kaia lightly raised her eyebrows. “If that were really the case, do you think I would still have time to do my own things? And, studying medicine is my hobby. My main profession is not this.”
Kaia’s words stunned Tobias again. To have achieved so much from just an interest, who exactly was this person?
Tobias asked, “Now that we’ve talked this long, I still don’t know your last name?”
