At the dining table, Patrick always sat at the head of the table. But unlike before, the one sitting right next to him wasn’t Kellan anymore; it was Zina.
Rosie followed Kyle in, and when she saw the three of them already seated, her eyes instantly went wide.
“Kyle, why is she-” Rosie tugged at his arm, looking like she wanted to say something but hesitated.
But Kyle wasn’t the type to keep his cool, especially in his home. He strode right up to Zina, looking down at her. “This is my seat. Please move,” he said, his voice firm.
When Zina didn’t budge, Kyle spoke again, his tone growing sharper. “Even if Kellan brought you back, you still have to follow our family’s rules, right? What are you trying to pull here? Are you just going to pretend you can’t hear me?”
“Did you really think pulling this stunt would make me pay more attention to you? Let me make it clear. Rosie is the only one I’ll ever love,” he added, his gaze softening as he turned to look at Rosie.
Rosie instantly lowered her head, her cheeks flushing bright red. Upon seeing her sweet, bashful look, Kyle’s heart burst with joy.
Meanwhile, Kyle didn’t notice at all that the three people beside him were looking at him with undisguised disgust and contempt.
Zina unconsciously tapped her fingers on the table. ‘Is he crazy or something?‘ she thought to herself. ‘He really doesn’t look like a normal person.’
Suddenly, the same pattern of Morse code came, making Zina’s eyes go wide. She glanced around the table, and her gaze finally settled on Kellan, who was staring straight at her.
Zina started tapping out Morse code again with her fingers. ‘You know Morse code, too?‘ Zina tapped out the question, her curiosity piqued.
Sort of Just enough to figure out what you’re sending, Kellan replied, his fingers drumming a casual
response.
Zina fell completely silent, thinking her life was never going to be peaceful. ‘Is there anything this guy can’t do? Zina wondered. ‘Does he really have to be good at everything?
Moreover, Zina had undergone special modifications that enabled her to devise the Morse code she had just used. Even so, Kellan still managed to crack it.
The more Zina thought about it, the more she just clammed up, by the end, she was basically retreating into her little world, totally done with everything.
“Why do you guys fix your eyes on me?” Kyle finally realized all those eyes were on him, and he started to get suspicious. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to happen.
But the next second, Kellan suddenly smirked.
