Zina was talking to Kellan when she suddenly sensed someone staring at her.
She followed the gaze and met a pair of cold, piercing eyes; it was Rosie.
‘What’s gotten into her?‘ Zina thought, frowning as Rosie’s stare grew even more intense.

“Dad, it’s about time for us to head back. Next time, I’ll come visit you on my own,” Kellan said, breaking the tension.
“Go on. Zina’s a good girl. Make sure you treat her well,” Patrick replied, his eyes full of reluctance as he saw them off.

On the drive home, Zina kept her eyes fixed on Kellan. It wasn’t until Kellan noticed that he pulled the car over and turned to look at Zina. “Why are you staring at me like that?” he asked.
“I’m just curious. Don’t you ever suspect there might be something between me and Kyle? After all, we were together for quite a long time,” Zina said softly.
Kellan burst out laughing. “I’m not as dumb as Kyle. I trust your taste. Now that you have me, you wouldn’t even look at him.”
Zina tugged at the corner of her mouth, almost wanting to say, “Wow, you’re really full of yourself, aren’t you?” But she had to admit, Kellan did have a point.
In the end, Zina just fell silent, quietly accepting what he said.
As they were about to part ways, Kellan suddenly spoke up. “When the jewelry show comes around, I’ll come pick you up.”
“No need,” Zina replied instinctively, but then she felt a bit uneasy. After all, this wasn’t really her place.
But Kellan seemed to know exactly what she was thinking and finished her sentence for her.
“Don’t worry. Just give me any address you want, and I’ll come find you. It’s settled then. Go on, head back.” With that, Kellan drove off, not giving Zina a chance to say another word.
Zina could only grumble inwardly, ‘He’s so damn stubborn.‘
Rolling her eyes, Zina headed to the garage, got in her car, and drove straight back to the Lambert Villa.
“Zina, you’re back?” Yvonne called out gently as she saw Zina walk in. She looked hesitant, like she wanted to say something but couldn’t quite get the words out.
“I heard from your dad that you’re thinking about getting married. The Carter family might not be the best place for you.

“If you really want to settle down, I can help you look for someone more suitable,” Yvonne said, her cheeks growing redder with every word.
By the end, her face was burning, and Yvonne was so flustered she barely knew what she was saying.
Yvonne twisted the hem of her shirt in her hands, turned away awkwardly, and mumbled, “You know, I was your age once, too, so I get what you’re thinking.
“But sometimes, when you like someone, you also have to consider their family background. Of course, I’m not saying the Carter family are bad people. I just think maybe their family isn’t the best match for ours.”
Her voice cut off abruptly, and her face was very red.
Zina plopped down beside Yvonne and smiled sweetly at her. “Mrs. Lambert, it’s still early for all that–no rush. Honestly, it was just something I said offhand, no need to worry about it,” she said with a grin.
“Okay,” Yvonne replied and nodded slowly. Her hands clenched tighter around the hem of her shirt.
After taking a deep breath, Yvonne pressed her lips together like she’d made a tough decision, and spoke seriously, “So, I just hope you’ll at least consider our thoughts when it comes to marriage.
“Of course, it’s not that we don’t want you to get married. But―”
Yvonne started to ramble, then stopped herself, letting out a sigh as she looked at Zina.
After a few seconds, Yvonne reached out and took Zina’s hand again. “I just want you to be happy.”
“I understand,” Zina replied softly. Her gaze softened as she felt the warmth in her palm from Yvonne’s hand, something she hardly ever got to feel. Still, it felt surprisingly nice.
As Zina headed upstairs, Yvonne’s hands, which had just relaxed, balled up tightly again.
‘No big deal. Zina just doesn’t have any great guys around her right now. I just need to work a little harder and start scouting out some good men for her,‘ Yvonne thought to herself.
Meanwhile, Zina was back in her room, completely clueless about what was going through Yvonne’s mind. She was still enjoying her peaceful life, totally unaware that this calm was about to be disrupted.
When guests suddenly showed up for dinner, Zina was left utterly lost.
At the dining table, a man in a sharp suit, looking quite poised, was sitting right next to her usual spot.
Zina blinked, glancing at Yvonne, who was all smiles, then at the man, who was putting on a casual front but whose hands trembled slightly as he gripped his fork and knife.
For a moment, Zina really wanted to bolt. “Who is this?” she hesitated for a moment before finally asking.

“Is that so? I wonder which noble heir got thrown out by the guards last time.” Kaia retorted with sarcasm as
she looked at Louis.
“Kaia, are you very proud of yourself? Do you think Mr. Dorsey would really give up cooperating with the Ross family for an employee like you? The way he spoke that day was just to scare me.
“It was just to protect K&B’s reputation. After all, quite a few people were there that day. If word got out that Conrad couldn’t even protect his employees, who would dare to work at K&B?
“I’m sure that in other situations, Mr. Dorsey would definitely protect me, not an ordinary employee like you.”
“Get over yourself!” Kaia complained speechlessly.
“Whether you admit it or not, that’s the truth. This is the upper circle, which you’ll never understand,” Louis said with his head held high.
Andrea looked at Scott. “Scott, for the sake of our blood tie, let me remind you, stay away from Kaia, or you’ll get yourself into trouble.”

She then asked arrogantly, “Scott, where is Mr. Dorsey’s newly accepted student?”
Scott was stunned for a moment, her expression a little strange.
He asked, “What do you want him for?”
“That’s none of your business. You just need to tell me where he is.” Andrea ordered Scott with her nostrils turned up.
Scott was speechless at Andrea’s arrogance and said, “Aren’t you very capable? Go find him yourself.”
After speaking, Scott turned to look at Kaia. “Let’s go to the restroom.”
“Okay.” Kaia nodded, and after taking two steps, she turned to look at Andrea and Louis. She had already guessed their purpose.
When they came back, the finance director, Seth Stark, came over with two people.
Seth said, “Mr. Becker, someone wants to see you.”
He addressed Scott as “Mr. Becker.” Few people in the company knew about Kaia’s identity as the chairman, and Seth was clueless about it.
“Who wants to see me?” Scott turned his head back in confusion. After seeing the faces of Andrea and Louis, he was surprised and belatedly realized.
“You, is that really you? How, how is this possible? How could Mr. Dorsey take you as a student?” Andrea was too surprised to speak properly.

Zina kept a polite smile on her face and nodded. ‘Wait? Is this a blind date?‘ she thought, bewildered. ‘Seriously? No one thought to give me a heads–up?‘
It took Zina almost twice as long as usual to make her way to her seat. Just as she sat down, a voice called out from outside.
“Do we have guests today?” came a sweet, innocent–sounding voice.
Along with her voice came a petite and pretty figure. Lydia was dressed in a simple white dress, looking especially cute and pure, her makeup flawless and delicate.
The moment Lydia walked in, Yvonne’s smile instantly collapsed.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t you say you were eating out tonight?” Yvonne asked, her voice tight.
Out of the corner of her eye, Yvonne noticed Ethan looking a little dazed by Lydia, and her expression grew even darker.
But Lydia acted like she hadn’t noticed a thing, smiling as she walked right over to Ethan.
“Is this the guest for tonight? You look kind of familiar. Have we met before?” Lydia asked sweetly, her tone playful and innocent.
“Lydia, did you really forget about me? I used to play with you when you were little,” Ethan replied, his smile polite and his eyes softening as he looked at her.
Yvonne took in the scene, closed her eyes for a moment, and forced herself to calm down.
“Lydia, just sit down and have dinner with us,” Yvonne said, her voice a bit tight.
Since both Zina and Lydia were Yvonne’s daughters, Yvonne would naturally be delighted if Ethan were dating Lydia. However, Yvonne realized she’d never truly understood Lydia.
Seeing how Yvonne’s face had darkened, Zina let out a long sigh. ‘How am I supposed to tell Yvonne that I honestly couldn’t care less about any of this?‘ Zina thought, a bit exasperated.
“Ethan, you have to try this. The cook makes the best lobster ever,” Lydia said, flashing him a sweet, playful smile.
Ethan was momentarily entranced by her, but quickly snapped out of it and grabbed a piece to taste.
Halfway through his bite, Ethan caught sight of Yvonne’s sour expression out of the corner of his eye. Suddenly realizing what was going on, he shot a look over at Zina.

“So, you already know each other? That’s great. I don’t need to introduce you.” Seth said with a smile.
Andrea took a lot of effort to recover from her disbelief, and a smile appeared on her face.
“Not only do we know each other, but he’s also my brother.”
“So, you’re siblings?” Seth looked surprised.
“Heh.” Scott sneered, “Andrea, you know what? Your face is really ugly! Before you knew I was Conrad’s student, you despised me like crazy, saying I’m a country bumpkin. Now that you know, I’m your brother?”
Andrea looked at Scott with tears in her eyes. “Scott, after all, blood is thicker than water. You and I are real siblings. Besides, it isn’t me who dislikes you. It’s obviously you who only sees Kaia as your sister. Obviously, you refuse to accept me.”
While speaking, she burst into tears.
Louis pulled Andrea into his arms, comforting her while looking at Scott, and said, “You shouldn’t have said that. Andrea is right. She is your real sister. Kaia is nothing. Scott, apologize to Andrea.
“You can live with me from now on, and you will be my dear brother–in–law. You can order the servants in the house as you please. You can just tell me whatever you want. But…”
Then, he changed the subject, glanced at Kaia, and said, “You can still see Kaia as your sister, and you are allowed to have any contact with her. I’m doing this for your own good.
“Now you are Conrad’s student, and you are in our elite circle in Morganburg. If you associate with some second–rate people, it will affect your reputation and future.”
Scott clenched his fists tightly. He really wanted to give Louis two punches and then tell him that Kaia was the chairman of K&B, and Louis was a nobody in front of Kaia.
“Louis, you were originally Kaia’s fiancé, but you are blind. And you, Andrea, you know best what you have done. Although many people are kept in the dark by you now, I believe that one day your true colors will be revealed. All of you, get out of here now, and don’t let me see you again!”
Andrea protested, “Scott, you…”
