Chapter 120
“I didn’t expect things to get this wild here,” Kellan remarked.

“That guy looks kind of familiar. He must be from our circle, but he’s definitely not anyone important. Can’t believe he’s so clueless,” as soon as Kellan finished speaking, Hayden added, shaking his head in obvious disdain.
Hayden was completely oblivious to the fact that Kellan had already turned to look at him.
It wasn’t until Kellan suddenly spoke that Hayden realized. “Wipe that look off your face. You look kind of creepy,” he said.
“What? Me?” Hayden exclaimed, pointing at himself in shock.
At that moment, Zina couldn’t help but snort with laughter. “You two are way more fun than anyone else I’ve ever met,” she said.
“Really?” Hayden blurted out. He instantly turned bashful, fidgeting awkwardly and sneaking a peek at Zina.
Right then, Zina rubbed her arms, suddenly getting goosebumps for no reason.
Before Hayden could figure out what was going on, Kellan suddenly plopped down right between him and Zina.
Hayden reached out to pat Kellan, looking completely confused. “What are you doing?”
“Nothing. Just mind your own business,” Kellan replied. He didn’t even bother to spare Hayden a glance.
But Hayden seemed totally used to this treatment. Instead of being the least bit annoyed, he just turned to look at Kellan.
A few seconds later, Hayden finally gave his answer, sounding unusually serious.
“Why do I feel like you’re acting so weird today? And it’s not just you–Miss Lambert too. Why are you both looking at me like that? It’s honestly kind of creepy,” said Hayden.
Hayden ran his hands through his hair a couple of times, but still couldn’t figure out what was going on. In the end, he just went quiet again.
Kellan and Zina shared a look of resignation and let out a long sigh.
Zina pointed behind Hayden. “Your phone’s been ringing for ages. Is that just your ringtone, or is someone actually calling you?”
“Calling? What call? Oh crap, my phone,” Hayden practically did a backflip to grab his phone, suddenly flailing in a panic.
By the time Hayden finally answered, he was already halfway out the door.

As the sound of his call faded into the background, Zina let out a sigh of relief, finally having a moment to
talk to Kellan.
“Are you sure you didn’t have some other reason for coming to see me today?” she asked.
“How’d you notice?” Kellan replied, casually draping an arm over the back of his chair, raising an eyebrow as he looked at the woman lost in thought in front of him.
Just then, Zina suddenly looked up, locking eyes with him. For a moment, they both fell silent.
Zina turned her head, biting her lip. “It’s just a feeling. Since you specifically brought Hayden with you, I figured there must be something the two of you need to deal with together.
“And if I’m not mistaken, it probably has something to do with me, too. Am I right?”
Even though she already had a good idea of what Kellan was getting at, Zina still put on an innocent face. “I think you’re doubting who I really am.
“But I can’t quite figure out what exactly is making you suspicious. So, can you tell me?”
Maybe it was the sincerity in her eyes, but for a moment, Kellan found himself at a loss for words.
He kept his eyes fixed on her for a long moment before finally shaking his head slowly.
“It’s nothing. Don’t let your mind wander. He’s here because of the hospital owned by the Lambert family. You know he’s a doctor; maybe he needs to talk to Mr. Lambert about something medical.”
Without even realizing it, Kellan sounded just like someone coaxing a sulky kid.
Zina looked a bit stunned and bowed her head in thought.
The Lambert family actually owns a hospital,‘ she thought. She honestly had no idea.
I really need to start digging into the Lambert family’s businesses. It probably could end up being a huge help for me, Thinking that, Zina lifted her head and looked straight at Kellan, her expression serious.
“So that’s what it was. I thought you two were starting to get suspicious about who I really am,” she said.
“No way. We’re partners, after all,” Kellan didn’t really spell it out; he just smiled at her, leaving his words hanging in the air.
By the time the two of them stepped out of the room, Hayden was already gone.
Kellan glanced around, but there was still no sign of the person he was looking for. Those striking eyes of his gradually turned cold.
“That’s odd. Where did he go?” Zina wondered aloud. She tilted her head at Kellan, waiting for his response.

Kellan didn’t really react. He just gave a mechanical nod. The two of them fell silent and headed downstairs

Chapter 120
The Parsons family glanced triumphantly at Kaia, their chins held high.
At that moment, Kaia’s voice rang out.
“You’re the lobby manager, right? Is this how you manage things?”

“What I do is none of your busin-” Before he could finish the last word, the lobby manager saw Kaia’s face, and his voice stopped abruptly.
“Dr. Kaia Benn-”
“That’s right, I am Kaia Benneth. It seems your memory isn’t too bad.” Kaia interrupted the address the lobby manager almost blurted out.
Since he could be the lobby manager, his perception was naturally extraordinary, especially working at Splendor Hotel.
“Look at what you’re saying, Miss Bennett, how could I possibly forget you? I could forget my own parents, but I could never forget you!”
The lobby manager’s flattering and fawning attitude left everyone present baffled.
Donald and Penny exchanged glances. They knew Kaia and Conrad had an extraordinary relationship, but how were they also involved with Splendor Hotel? Moreover, judging by the lobby manager’s appearance, he seemed very awed by Kaia.
Facing the strange gazes of the crowd, Kaia did not explain and continued speaking to the lobby manager, “We came first. Who do you think this private room belongs to?”
“Of course it’s yours! This way, please. The private room is this way, I’ll personally take you there.” The lobby manager had accidentally offended Kaia just now and was now trying his best to please and fawn over her.
Issac’s face darkened as he stopped the lobby manager.
“Mr. Clark, shouldn’t–shouldn’t this private room be mine?”
The lobby manager could see that Kaia and Issac’s family were not on good terms, so his attitude towards Issac instantly became terrible.
“Mr. Parsons, you are a well–known figure in the circle. How could you do such a thing as snatching someone else’s private room? And you’re so confident about it. I was really blind to have been so friendly with you before. From today onwards, I don’t want to have anything to do with you.”
Issac was shocked. “Mr. Clark, what’s wrong with you?”
“That’s all I have to say, Mr. Parsons. Take care.” The lobby manager’s words were as heartless as they could be.
Issac’s face darkened with anger. At this moment, he really wanted to leave with his family, but if he really left like this, he would lose even more face.
“What’s so great about it! Isn’t he just a lobby manager? Judging by the tone of his voice just now, you’d think

together. But unfortunately, there was still no sign of Hayden.

Almost instantly, Kellan’s brows knitted together, a wave of unease rising in his chest. Still, he forced himself to keep it together.
Compared to him, Zina looked a lot more at ease.
Suddenly, a pair of large hands landed on her shoulders. Zina instinctively turned her head and found herself face–to–face with Richard’s gentle, fatherly smile. “Where have you been?
“I haven’t seen you around at all. There are a lot of elders here who want to meet you. I told them my daughter is always so smart, and they’re all really looking forward to meeting you.”
Richard had always been endlessly gentle with Zina. He didn’t seem like the legendary CEO who’d ruled the business world for years; right now, he was just a regular dad, fussing over his daughter and making small talk.
Zina felt a little touched and nodded sweetly. But Richard’s gaze swept right past Zina, fixing directly on someone standing tall and straight behind her. It was Kellan, standing ramrod straight.
The moment their eyes met, as if something was about to go down, Kellan felt a wave of unease rising in his chest.
Sure enough, almost immediately, Richard started walking toward him.
There was a heavy pressure coming off Richard, so intense that anyone else probably would’ve buckled under it.
Even Kellan couldn’t help but bow his head slightly, his gaze dropping and his expression turning serious.
A few seconds later, Kellan took the initiative and spoke up. “Mr. Lambert, is there something you want to talk to me about?”
“Come with me for a bit. I hardly ever see you around the Carter family these days.
“Now that you’re back, I’m guessing you’ve got some plans in mind. Why don’t you fill me in?” Richard said.
Richard placed a firm, meaningful hand on Kellan’s shoulder, left those words hanging in the air, and turned to walk away without another word.
Zina instinctively stepped forward, but Kellan just shook his head and reassured her softly, “It’s fine,
“Mr. Lambert probably just wants to talk to me about something. I’ll go see what he needs. Besides, you should probably stick around here and handle social stuff.”
“Alright, call me anytime if you need anything,” Zina replied.
Even though Zina still felt a bit uneasy, seeing Richard already walking away, she just stood there and watched
Kellan leave.
It wasn’t until his figure completely disappeared from view that Zina finally turned around, ready to get back to socializing with the others.

Her words made Issac’s expression soften slightly.

That was right. The man was nothing more than a lobby manager, just an employee, while he was the boss of a listed company. Being on good terms with the other party was already giving them face.
“They’re really getting out of hand!” Issac decided that when he had the chance, he would get to know the upper echelons of Splendor Hotel and make the lobby manager regret what he had done today.
Kaia didn’t end up going to a private room because they thought the atmosphere in the main hall was better, and it was quite spacious.
Not long after Kaia and her group sat down, the Parsons family also sat down. Coincidentally, these were the only two tables left in the main hall next to each other.
“What a buzzkill.” Penny was annoyed to see the Parsons family.
Rita also glared fiercely at Penny and her group.
“I’m really getting angry.” Penny wanted to roll up her sleeves and start a fight.
“Ignore them. We’ll eat our food, and they’ll eat theirs.” Kaia said, handing the menu to Donald.
Donald appreciated Kaia even more. This girl knew how to respect her elders and was not like the rumors said, rebellious and harming her sister. Anyway, in his opinion, this girl was good in every way.
His daughter was already very sensible, but Kaia was even more so. She was more considerate in her actions and had a lot of talent.
“Hey, Kaia. I have a question for you.” Penny poked Kaia’s arm and looked at her with curiosity. “How did you get to know the lobby manager?”
Donald was also very curious, so he pretended to be ordering, but in reality, he was all ears, listening to Kaia’s
answer.
