With a determined nod, the woman walked straight toward the exhibition counter.
She had poured her heart and soul into the piece for a whole year deserved to be cherished for the emotion
behind it.
She wouldn’t allow it to be treated like some object, slapped with someone else’s name, and left to sit in a cold, lifeless display case.
Everyone’s attention was fixed on the woman, except for Kellan, who simply lifted his wine glass and finished his drink, something unreadable flickering in his eyes.
Zina noticed something off and arched her eyebrow ever so slightly.
All eyes watched as the woman finally stopped beside the most inconspicuous display case.
She pointed at a bird–shaped brooch inside and declared, her voice unwavering, “This is my work. I want the author’s name here changed to mine.”
The onlookers who had been waiting for some drama were suddenly taken aback.
From the noisy crowd, a few voices rose above the chatter.
“No way. Is there some mistake?” someone said.
“Isn’t this Miss Sinclair’s work? I heard she just got back from studying abroad, and this is her first time presenting her piece,” another one chimed in.
“Could there be some kind of misunderstanding? Or maybe Rosie was paid off to frame Miss Sinclair?” someone guessed.
Rosie, who had been trembling just moments before, suddenly found herself surprisingly calm after hearing those words.
“Kyle, please, you have to believe me. I have no idea what’s going on. Someone must be out to get me, trying to frame me,” she said.
“Don’t panic. Let’s hear what she has to say first,” Kyle replied, his brow furrowed.
Kyle frowned deeply. He’d had way too much to drink, and now the alcohol was hitting him hard.
His mind was foggy, his words slurred, and he barely knew what he was saying. All he could register was the noisy chaos around him, which made him feel especially irritable.
Rosie had no choice but to quiet herself, shrinking into a corner, helplessly watching as the woman, eyes full of determination, reached into the display case and took out the brooch.
“I believe every designer pours their passion and ideas into their creations,” the woman said, her voice ringing
out clear and firm.
