But she was still his daughter, after all. Richard still held onto a sliver of hope that Lydia might realize her mistakes and turn things around, so he tried to reason with her.
“Whatever Zina does, it’s the Lambert family’s business. It has nothing to do with you. Just focus on yourself and try to improve your situation, Richard said sternly.
“I can’t believe you’re doing this to me,” Lydia cried out, her voice breaking.

But to Lydia, it just felt like both of them were pressuring her from all sides. She felt completely alone now, with no one left she could rely on.
Lydia’s eyes were bloodshot as she glared at the person in front of her, practically screaming her lungs out.

Lydia’s desperate questions echoed through the phone, making Richard fall silent. “What do you mean by ‘you all? Is there someone else with you?” Richard demanded, his voice suddenly sharp.
The man beside Lydia, unable to hold back any longer, grabbed the phone from her and hung up quickly, his disappointment clear. With the call cut off, the man finally exploded in anger.
“What are you doing? Isn’t our situation already bad enough? We agreed you would call Richard and try to get back into the Lambert family, but now you’ve messed it up again!” he shouted.
Lydia froze, stunned by his anger. After what seemed like an eternity, Lydia finally spoke, her voice trembling.
