eyes narrowed.
Hearing this, Tobias withdrew his foot from the gas pedal, looked at Kaia, and asked, “Why? Won’t they cause trouble for you again?”

Zina immediately realized why she felt like something was missing earlier–it was Kellan who had disappeared.
Just as they were discussing it, they heard footsteps from upstairs. “Did the Turner family leave?” Richard
asked as he walked in.
“Yeah,” Yvonne nodded, glancing behind him. But when she didn’t see Kellan, she asked, “Where’s Kellan? Why didn’t he come down with you?”
Richard glanced up toward the stairs and said, “He went to make a call.”
Yvonne nodded, pressing her lips together like she had something on her mind, but in the end, she kept quiet.
Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Kellan frowned as he stared at his phone, which was still showing an active call. His expression turned icy.
“What? You actually have the nerve to come to me with this? Do you even see the difference between how the Carter family’s company was when it was in your hands and how it is now? Are you blind?” Kellan snapped.
“Kellan, you can’t treat me like this. I’m part of the Carter family too! Why does everything have to be under your control?” Kyle shouted, clenching his phone so tightly that the veins in his arm bulged.

“If you share some power with me, maybe I’ll back you up. If not, don’t blame me for going against you,” Kyle threatened.
Kyle was fully confident, smugly waiting for Kellan to beg him for mercy. But after waiting for a long time, there was only silence on the other end of the line.
