Chapter 137
“Mom! Don’t mess around.” Lincoln quickly pulled at Emma.
“What are you doing? You’re actually protecting her like that!” Emma said.
“No, Mom, she, she is Dr. Miracle!” Lincoln shouted, his face flushed red.
Everyone was stunned.
“You, what did you say?” Emma opened her mouth slightly.
Ruth swallowed and said, “Honey, why are you joking at a time like this?”
“Yeah! Dad, how could Kaia be Dr. Miracle?” Andrea said that she would never believe that Kaia was Dr. Miracle.
Seeing everyone looking at him, Lincoln frowned and said with a bitter face, “I also don’t think Kaia can’t be Dr. Miracle, and I hope it’s a joke, but… but that’s the truth.”
After hearing this, everyone fell silent, and the way they looked at Kaia was indescribably awkward and unbelievable.
“She’s getting in the car!” Ruth shouted.
Emma chased after her, hobbling with her cane in a panic. “Kaia, don’t go! Come back!”
Ruth and Lincoln also chased after her.
Seeing this, Andrea was as anxious as a cat on a hot tin roof.
How could Kaia be Dr. Miracle?
Kaia had just gotten into the car when she was pulled out by several people.
“Didn’t you not believe me? Didn’t you tell me to get lost?” Kaia said.
Lincoln’s face was flushed purple. “Why didn’t you tell us?”
Was she deliberately waiting until he had kicked her out of the Bennett family to reveal this, just to see them humiliated?
Kaia laughed, though it was unclear whether she was mocking herself or Lincoln. “I never said it? When Mrs. Bennett had a bone fracture, I said I knew medicine and could treat her, but how did you all respond?
“You accused me of lying, said I was bad, and even locked me up to reflect on my behavior. And a few years ago, when Melvin fell ill and his health kept deteriorating, I said I could treat him, but how did you all treat me then?
“You all scolded me so harshly–what did you turn me into? It’s not that I never said it, but that you never
And on top of that, Kellan had already uncovered things about her past. Things were turning out differently than she had expected. Letting out a quiet sigh, she tried to mask the thoughts in her mind.
Just as she was about to change the topic, Kellan spoke again, his tone unhurried. “Actually, if you have something on your mind, feel free to talk to me. Maybe I can help.”
Zina raised an eyebrow in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I can help you. I can do whatever you need. I know you have a grudge against Kyle. Even though I don’t know all the details, it looks like our goals align. That means we could work well together,” Kellan said.
“Fine.” Zina didn’t want to continue discussing this mess, so she nodded, accepting his offer. She quickly changed the subject. “Are you going back now?”
“Yeah, if I leave now, I can still take care of a few more things,” Kellan replied.
“Alright, I won’t see you out then,” Zina said, signaling him to leave.
Kellan could see the seriousness in her demeanor. “Well, next time, even if you have plans, don’t make them so obvious. It’s easy for people to see through you.”
Zina didn’t even flinch at his remark. She just smirked and said, “Got it. I’ll be more careful next time.”
Kellan left helplessly.
Once he was far enough away, Zina finally took out her phone, which had been vibrating non–stop since earlier. “What’s up, Chris?” she asked.
“Boss, everything’s set up at the Base. We’re just waiting for your orders,” Chris replied, his voice respectful but clearly filled with excitement.
Zina could sense his mood and was curious. “Anything else?”
“Yeah, you were right. As soon as Andy found out the trial was coming, he made a move. We’ve been following him, and guess what? He met with Sean.
“That guy is a total traitor–pretending to be with us while working behind our backs. But don’t worry, we have three people tailing Sean now. He won’t be able to slip anything past us,” Chris said.
Chris’s tone grew increasingly proud. Having arranged everything so perfectly, he was sure Zina would praise him.
Normally, Zina would have already started chatting with him, asking all sorts of questions or giving him a bunch of advice.
Chris frowned and glanced down at his phone. The call hadn’t ended, but he didn’t respond either.
After waiting a long time with nothing but silence on the line, Chris finally had to speak up. “Boss, are you listening?” he asked.
still
“Yeah.” Zina rubbed her forehead, trying to steady her nerves before continuing, “Don’t worry about Sean and

believed me!”
With each sentence Kaia spoke, Lincoln and Ruth’s faces darkened.
They all remembered what Kaia said, and they remembered it very clearly. They did as Kaia said, scolded her, didn’t believe her, and locked her up.
Did they feel guilty? Not really. They didn’t think there was anything wrong with what they did, because who would have thought a little girl would know medical skills?
“Enough! Enough with the nonsense!” Emma looked at Kaia with an angry face and said in a commanding tone, “Since you are really Dr. Miracle, then why don’t you go in and treat my old man?”
Kaia said, “Listen, Madam Bennett, I am no longer part of the Bennett family, and certainly not your granddaughter. I am Dr. Miracle, a renowned figure whom all the major families in Morganburg are eager to befriend.
“Are you sure you still want to speak to me in that tone? Besides, you were the ones who drove me away just now. And now you want me to treat you? Dream on!”
“You, you-” Emma was choked for a long time and couldn’t say a word, and finally lost her temper at Lincoln and Ruth.
She fumed, “Look at your daughter!”
Lincoln and Ruth felt uncomfortable.
Ruth said, “Emma, Kaia is no longer our daughter. She has been kicked out of our Bennett family.”
Emma was simmered with rage. If they had driven Kaia out, they wouldn’t have spent 100 million dollars to win the bid, and they wouldn’t have bowed their heads, pretended to cry, and begged those big shots.
Thinking of this, Emma’s eyes were filled with anger as she looked at Kaia.
She believed it was all Kaia’s fault.
Even if she hated Kaia, she had to suppress it for Melvin’s sake.
“Kaia, what will it take for you to treat Melvin?” Emma asked.
Kaia raised her pretty eyebrows with a hint of defiance. “You all kicked me out. What do you think it will take to make me want to treat you?”
Emma was barely able to contain her anger.
Andrea stepped forward and said, “Kaia, even though you’re no longer part of the Bennett family, the Bennett family did raise you for several years.
“You still carry Mom and Dad’s blood in your veins. Are you really going to ignore all those ties and insist on making Mom and Dad kneel to you?”
Andy for now. Let’s deal with the Sinclair family first. Once Kevin starts to panic, it’ll be much easier to handle everything else.”
“That’s why you’re the Boss–you always think further ahead than the rest of us,” Chris said, piling on the compliments.
But all of Chris’s weird behavior finally snapped Zina back to her senses. She glanced at her phone in confusion, double–checking that she really was talking to Chris, then pressed her lips together and said, “I’ll send you something. Just follow my instructions.”
“Don’t worry, Boss,” Chris replied, his voice steady and confident.
Zina nodded, reassured by his determined tone.
Just as the call was about to end, Zina added in an unhurried tone, “Remember, the things I gave you from the Base–keep them safe. They’ll be crucial when the time comes.”
The shrewd Emma immediately understood Andrea’s meaning from her words, so she looked at Lincoln and Ruth. “What are you waiting for? Kneel to Kaia. She hates us now. Only if you kneel to her will she change her mind and agree to treat your father.”
How vicious!
Kaia’s narrowed eyes were filled with a cold, sharp glint as she looked at Andrea, as if she were staring at a dead person.
Lincoln and Ruth both stared at Emma in astonishment.
“Mom, what are you saying? You want us to kneel to her? We are her parents! Well, this…”
Emma let out a disgruntled hum. “What am I supposed to do? If you don’t do this, your father will die! Some people are unfilial–are you going to be unfilial too?”
Kaia could tell that the “some people” Emma was referring to was her.
“Kaia, I beg you, don’t let your parents kneel to you! Please, save Grandpa, okay? As long as you agree, I will do anything you ask,” Andrea said, her face covered in tears.
To everyone else, this scene created a stark contrast between Andrea and Kaia.
One was a well–behaved and filial good child, and the other was a bad child with an evil heart.
Kaia raised an eyebrow. “Okay, then I have no other requests. I want you to kneel to me.”
Andrea, who was crying, was clearly stunned when she heard this.
“Kneel!” Kaia looked at Andrea with a wild expression. “Aren’t you the good child in their eyes?”
Lincoln and Ruth exchanged a look, thinking Andrea kneeling to Kaia would save themselves from kneeling to her.
“Andrea, I’m sorry you have to go through this. We’ll make it up to you when your grandfather gets better.”
Hearing them say this, Andrea was full of remorse. If she had known it would come to this, she wouldn’t have stood out.
Emma’s old face showed dissatisfaction as she watched Andrea not kneeling for a long time.
“Andrea, what are you hesitating for? Do you think your knees are more important than your grandfather’s life?” Emma said.
With things having developed to this point, Andrea had no way out. Gritting her back teeth, she fell to her knees before Kaia with a thud.
Andrea thought, ‘Damn it! Despicable Kaia! Just wait–one day, I will revenge! The humiliation I suffered today will be repaid a thousandfold!‘
Kaia read her thoughts from Andrea’s expression. “Kneeling isn’t enough. Slap yourself. Keep slapping

yourself while kneeling. You can stop when my treatment is over.”
“What? Kaia, don’t go too far!” Andrea roared through gritted teeth.
Kaia crouched down beside Andrea and whispered, “Andrea Bennett, you need to pay attention to your image -the Bennett family is watching you.
“And remember, Melvin’s life is now in your hands. If you make me unhappy and I stop treating him, then you’ll become the Bennett family’s eternal sinner.”
