Chapter 139
Kaia was stunned for a moment.
Even though she already knew the shamelessness of the Bennett family, she couldn’t help but feel deeply disgusted by Melvin’s words.
“Heh…” Kaia couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
She said, “There’s no point in saying more. I could never go back to a Bennett family like this.
“Even if you all apologized to me together and begged me, I still wouldn’t return- let alone expect me, the victim, to apologize to you instead.
“Alright, I’ll continue to treat you. After all, I’ve received 100 million dollars from you. Let’s call it a day. Bye.”
After saying that, she walked away directly.
“Stop! Did I allow you to leave?” Melvin roared at Kaia’s back.
Kaia acted as if she hadn’t heard anything, her steps not pausing in the slightest.
Melvin’s face turned red with anger. “I told you to stop! Can’t you hear me? Kaia!”
Kaia continued walking her own way.
Melvin fumed, “Well! I don’t believe it. I’ve lived most of my life, and I still can’t handle a junior like you. Someone! Someone! Grab her!”
Melvin was determined to detain Kaia in the Bennett family, first, because Kaia ignored him and resisted him, giving her the corresponding punishment. Second, because of Kaia’s medical skills, which can earn a lot of money, and can even use Kaia’s medical skills to befriend big shots in the top wealthy circles.
Therefore, under no circumstances could Kaia be allowed to leave today.
Soon, Kaia was surrounded by more than a dozen people.
She glanced around and said calmly, “These people are not enough to stop me.”
pier loy.
you look at me like that, you’re really scaring me.”
Seeing Hayden’s face twisted as if he was about to cry, Kellan finally withdrew his gaze and cast a casual glance at the spot where Hayden was sitting.
Hayden quickly stood up, offering his seat with a small grumble, “Every time you come over, you have to steal my seat.”
“What did you just say? I didn’t hear you,” Kellan asked coolly, lifting an eyebrow.
Hayden’s face instantly turned pale, and he hurriedly waved his hands. “I didn’t say a thing,” he blurted out.
“Glad to hear it. Otherwise, I’d have thought you had a problem with me,” Kellan replied with a smirk, clearly satisfied.
But Hayden, looking absolutely miserable, stared at Kellan as if he were staring at the devil himself.
Kellan shot him a sharp glare, and Hayden immediately quieted down, blinking nervously at him.

“So, what brings you here today? Wait, let me guess—every time
show up, something big is about to happen. You’re not here to set me up again, are you?” Hayden grumbled, his voice laced with suspicion.
Kellan scoffed, his face full of disdain. “Please. I’m not that kind of person.”
But as soon as the words left his mouth, Hayden quickly waved his hands.
Seeing Kellan’s confused look, Hayden spoke up firmly, “Come on, man. Remember when we were five? You came over to my place, locked me in a room, and then the power went out. You almost gave me claustrophobia for life.
“And when we were seven, you smashed my dad’s favorite vase and pinned it on me, so I took the blame and got a beating.
“And then when we were ten, you pulled that prank about going on a ‘treasure hunt, but we ended up digging up someone’s grave. We got caught, had to apologize, and I got locked in a room and made to kneel for hours.”

Melvin said, “Arrogant! Who do you think you can get out of it? These are all elite bodyguards from the Bennett family.”
“Okay,” Kaia responded nonchalantly, then continued walking forward.
The bodyguards exchanged glances before quickly attacking.
With a casual push, Kaia sent the two bodyguards who rushed at her flying.
The two bodyguards were pushed back repeatedly until they collided with the wall, their faces turning pale and their pupils quivering with shock.
It wasn’t over yet. Facing bodyguards coming one after another, in just a few swift motions, Kaia knocked more than a dozen bodyguards to the ground.
Melvin looked at the elite bodyguards lying all over the ground, his aged face dark, and the shock in his heart was indescribable.
Everyone, including Lincoln and Ruth, was stunned.
At that moment, they finally understood why Samantha had been pestering Kaia –because Kaia really had skills.
And she had her medical skills and her identity as the Morganburg SAT top
scorer…
They started to regret it.
Andrea had already stopped slapping herself and rushed over when Melvin woke up. As she watched one event unfold after another, she felt a profound sense of threat.
Her eyes darted around, and she immediately had an idea.
Andrea said, “Kaia, I don’t understand. You’re obviously very capable–so why would you willingly let yourself fall and become a kept woman for some old man?”
Andrea said this to deliberately manipulate the Bennett family: no matter how capable Kaia was, she was still just a bitch who didn’t know how to respect herself.
Under Andrea’s guidance, the Bennett family’s newly arisen regret gradually
Chapter 139
Hayden shook his head in disbelief, the painful memories flooding back.
Kellan, however, felt like all those events were distant memories, and he could hardly recall his own childhood. After a brief silence, Kellan spoke calmly, “Alright, I get it.”
“And then?” Hayden stared at Kellan, eyes wide in disbelief.
But Kellan remained unfazed, not even pretending to apologize. He simply answered, “And then what?”
Hayden’s mouth twitched, struggling to contain his frustration, before he finally said, “Nothing, really. As long as you’re happy, Kellan, that’s all that matters. My happiness doesn’t count for much anyway.”
Hayden quickly remembered the real reason Kellan had come and snapped back to reality. “Wait, hold on, let’s get back to business. Why are you really here? You don’t just show up for no reason.”
“Yeah, I need a favor from you,” Kellan said, rubbing his brow.
After a moment, Kellan spoke again, “How much do you know about the Sinclair family? If I’m not mistaken, Kevin was treated here before. With your connections, it shouldn’t be hard for you to pull up a few of his files, right?”
Hayden frowned, clearly confused. “Yeah, that’s not hard. But why do you want his medical records?”
“Just want to take a look. Go get them,” Kellan replied coolly.
In just a few seconds, Kellan had already dumped a troublesome task on Hayden’s lap.
Hayden looked at him with confusion, but Kellan just waved his hand dismissively, signaling that he wasn’t going to say anything more.
It was only recently that Kellan had found out Kevin was likely infertile. Now at Zina wasn’t Kevin’s daughter, her existence made sense. But Rosie’s existence raised more questions.
It seemed the Sinclair family’s secrets were even more tangled than he’d
began to fade, and the way they looked at Kaia changed from mixed to contemptuous and disdainful.
Just then, Kaia dashed in front of Andrea.
Andrea’s eyes
widened instantly in fright. “W–what do you want?”
There was danger in Kaia’s narrowed eyes. “I told you last time–if you keep
slandering me about being someone’s kept woman without any evidence, I’ll make you regret it.”
Danger filled the air around Andrea, and she swallowed hard, screaming and turning to run.
Kaia quickly reached out and grabbed the back of Andrea’s collar, yanking her hard.
Andrea flew out like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily into a cabinet and landing on her back, legs flailing in the air.
“Andrea!” Emma rushed over anxiously. “Are you okay, Andrea?”
“Waaah-” Andrea cried, “Mom, I–I’m okay… Don’t blame Kaia… It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have exposed what she did.”
Emma was furious and turned sharply to look at Kaia, roaring.
“Kaia! Did you hear that? You beat Andrea like this, and she still tries to protect you. Just look at yourself—what have you done?
“So what if you’re Dr. Miracle? So what if you have all these skills? With a character as vile as yours, even if the Bennett family wants you back, I will absolutely never acknowledge you.”
“That’s right!” Lincoln glared at Kaia, equally furious. “What she says is what I mean. I will never accept you.”
Melvin and Emma originally intended to make use of Kaia, but they just witnessed the situation just now and hearing what Lincoln and his wife said.
They realized that if someone with such a terrible character as Kaia were truly
imagined. Kellan couldn’t help but wonder what kind of scene would unfold once everything was brought to light.
A faint smile tugged at Kellan’s lips, his eyes glinting with an unreadable. expression.
When Hayden caught that look, he immediately shuddered, quickly lowering his gaze and pretending to focus on his phone.
Only this time, there was no way he could calm down–his mind was stuck on that unmistakably sinister smile on Kellan’s face.
Hayden couldn’t help but shudder and shake his head, feeling some sympathy for the Sinclair family for provoking Kellan.
Worried about getting caught up in this mess again, Hayden quickly sent a
message to Gus Logan. [Heading to the archives for a bit. I’ll be back soon. Thanks for your help–I owe you one.]
After sending the message, he didn’t bother waiting for a reply. He got up and looked over at Kellan. “All done, let’s go,” he said.
Meanwhile, outside, Gus had just seen the message and shot up from his desk, his voice booming. “What’s that brat up to now?”
kept in the Bennett family, it would inevitably lead to endless trouble.
“Kaia, I I only allowed you to come back out of the kindness of my heart because you carry Lincoln’s blood in your veins.
“But since you are so ungrateful, the Bennett family has no place for someone like you. You may leave now,” Melvin looked at Kaia with a cold expression as he spoke.
Kaia remained composed, her tone calm. “I’ve wanted to leave for a long time. If you won’t let me go, aren’t you just making things difficult for yourself?”
The Bennett family could only hold back their anger, and in the end, they could do nothing but watch helplessly as Kaia walked away.
As soon as Kaia exited the villa gate, she saw Joel waiting outside.
“What brings you here?” she asked
“Mr. Moreno is worried about you,” said Joel.
“Are you making fun of me?” Kaia said.
“Wouldn’t dare.” Joel said with a smile, then his gaze shifted, and his face instantly darkened after seeing the Bennett family’s villa.
He said, “I heard fighting outside just now.”
Kaia told Joel what had happened. “That’s what happened. In the eyes of the Bennett family, those dozen bodyguards are all elites, but in my opinion, they are nothing.”
“I know, that’s why I didn’t break in,” said Joel.
Kaia stared at Joel. “Actually, you wanted to break in, didn’t you?”
Joel couldn’t help but smile. “No wonder you’re Dr. Bennett, with intelligence that’s practically superhuman–nothing ever escapes you. I really did break in since this is the Bennett family, I managed to restrain myself.”
it
Kaia was very grateful to Joel for considering her situation. He was a rough man, but he was as meticulous and careful as possible when it came to her affairs.
Kaia said, “You don’t need to hold back anymore. If you want to barge in, then barge in–I have absolutely nothing to do with the Bennett family now.
Joel nodded. “Okay.”
At the Moreno Group.
Devin walked into the office carrying a stack of documents and approached Tobias. Then he noticed that his boss was still looking at the same files Devin had delivered an hour earlier.
He asked, “Boss, you’ve been looking at this document for an hour. Are you done yet?”
“My mind was wandering.” Tobias frowned.
