Kaia narrowed her eyes and clamped down on Cecelia’s wrist.

“Let go of me, you piece of trash! How dare you talk back and grab me? You’re just some nobody from the sticks. Who do you think you are?” Cecelia yelled.
Kaia’s face stayed cold as her grip tightened.
Cecelia’s wrist bent at an odd angle, and the bones let out sharp cracking sounds.
“Ouch! It hurts. You’re breaking it. Kaia, you bitch! Let go!” Cecelia screamed.
Bianca rushed to step in. “Kaia, don’t do anything stupid. She’s part of the Moreno family. If you really hurt her, they’ll never forgive you. Even Mr. Keaton Moreno won’t cover for you.”
“Oh? Is that a threat? I’m not scared of threats,” Kaia said with a cold smirk, squeezing even harder.
There was a loud crack. Cecelia’s wrist popped out of place as she let out a scream.
“You… You…” Bianca was so stunned that she could barely get the words out. She hadn’t thought Kaia would actually do it. She was really dangerous.
Kaia raised her brow, and her eyes were like ice. “I’ll give you one last chance. Apologize, or I won’t just dislocate your wrist–I’ll make sure your hand’s ruined for good.”
Cecelia wanted to keep shouting, but when she saw that devilish look in Kaia’s eyes, she knew this could end a whole lot worse.
Grinding her teeth, she forced out, “I’m sorry.”
Kaia’s gaze slid to her other arm. “Let me ask you again–who’s the bitch?”
“Kaia, don’t push your luck, or-” Before Cecelia could finish, there was another sharp crack.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! It’s me! I’m the bitch!” Cecelia sobbed, tears and snot streaming down her
face.
Kaia suddenly let go. Cecelia stumbled back and landed hard on her butt, looking pitiful and nothing like her usual arrogant self.
“Cecelia, are you okay?” Bianca asked, glancing at her hand.
“It hurts so bad. I think it’s broken,” Cecelia whimpered.
Bianca turned on Kaia with an angry glare. “Kaia, you’re too much! How could you do that to her? She’s just a girl.”

“What? You want to be next, huh?” Kaia said flatly, cracking her knuckles.
Bianca flinched and took a quick step back, putting some space between them.

Then she pulled out a check. “Here is 1.5 million dollars. Take it and stay away from Toby.”
Kaia didn’t even blink. “1.5 million dollars? That’s chump change.” The government paid her more than that every month–bonuses not included.
“Don’t be greedy. You’re just some country bumpkin. Even though you’re back with the Bennett family now, I hear they barely give you anything. 1.5 million dollars is a fortune for someone like you. Your whole family would thank me for it,” Bianca said, folding her arms, looking smug.
“Really? That might sound like a lot to someone from a small–time rich family like yours. But to me? It’s nothing. The clothes I’m wearing right now cost more than that,” Kaia said, pointing at her outfit.
Bianca let out a mocking laugh. “That outfit? Worth more than 1.5 million dollars? Are you
serious?”
“If you can’t even tell who made them, then you really don’t know anything,” Kaia shot back.
Bianca frowned, squinting at Kaia’s clothes. When she spotted the logo, her eyes widened—then she burst out laughing. “Oh my God, Kaia. You’re so desperate to look rich that you slapped a fake Conrad logo on some random outfit, huh?”
“You really can’t tell the difference, can you? This isn’t fake,” Kaia said, rolling her eyes.
Bianca said with confidence, “You think I don’t know, huh? Please. You’re the clueless one. You read a few magazines and think anyone can wear Conrad’s designs, huh? He only makes three outfits a month, and the wealthy fight over them.
“There’s no way someone like you could get one. I’m one of his biggest fans–I know every single design. He’s never made what you’re wearing.”
“That’s because Conrad made this one just for me. Of course, you haven’t seen it,” Kaia replied,
Bianca laughed so hard that she could barely talk. “Cecelia, did you hear her? She says Conrad designs just for her. Why doesn’t she say Conrad works for her and makes her a new dress every morning? She’s unbelievable.”
Cecelia perked up, forgetting all about her injured hand. “Exactly! This is why she’s not good enough for Tobias. Her being engaged to him is a joke. Bianca, hurry up and get rid of her so we don’t have to waste time on her anymore.”
Bianca slipped off a flashy emerald bracelet and held it out. “This was a gift from my grandma for my 18th birthday. You know how much she paid for it? You’re gonna be shocked.
“Three million dollars. What do you think? I bet you’ve never touched anything this expensive in

your life. Go ahead–take it. You’ll never get another chance like this. I’m just generous.”
Kaia stared at the emerald bracelet for a few seconds, then reached out her hand.

Bianca’s lips curled in a satisfied smirk. So much for that tough act–she knew Kaia just hadn’t thought the money was enough earlier.
But just as Bianca moved to drop the emerald bracelet into her palm, Kaia pulled her hand back.
The emerald bracelet slipped from Bianca’s fingers, hitting the floor with a sharp crack and shattering into pieces.
Bianca let out a shriek. “My emerald bracelet!”
Cecelia was about to explode at Kaia, but then she spotted Tobias stepping out of his study.
An idea hit her, and she raised her voice. “Kaia, you’re too much! Bianca just said some things you didn’t like, and you went and smashed her emerald bracelet on purpose. That was a gift from her grandma–her late grandma! How could you be so heartless?”
